Conan is a class act. He always treated jean with respect. And even later when jean after fell off. He was respectfull and bought him back on his come back with JCVD and jean claude van dam johnson. Respect.
Ive always liked how Van Damme has always been able to play around and have fun on stuff on shows like this and he can actually laugh at himself, despite some of his own personal demons he seems like a good person at the end of the day
@@valenpro9512 there was also "Welcome to the jungle" which was comedy where Van Damme didn't have the biggest role but he was pretty funny in that one. this was such a wholesome interview. i remember watching kickboxer with my dad and uncles who were fanboying hard, one of my favorite stars throughout the 80s and 90s. and man, watching him ask to have Andy in the frame and even bringing the chair to him, how kind. always loved jcvd but he just went up another notch after i saw this
Most of the toughest guys i've ever met have his same attitude, charming, kind, fun, down to earth, they know they can kick ass and they don't need to act tough all the time. Jean Claude Van Damme and his butt are legendary and i love them both lol
JCVD made me take martial arts seriously after watching Bloodsport. I watched his rise and fall. We all have them. He's still my guy 62yrs old and in impressive shape.
1:58 Look how NICE and considerate JCVD is ! As a guest he took the initiative to grab another chair when he didn't have to. That's what makes him greater than "screw your freedoms" Arnold. JCVD is a real gentleman.
He's about 180 to 185 here I believe. Definitely his heaviest and most muscular frame. I really liked it. By this time he had stopped cocaine and was back training really hard. He did the movie called "Knock off" and he almost looked like a bodybuilder.
Lmao honestly jeans like this is alright. Not so freaking tight like how it is today. But it's not overly baggy as hell that makes you look like a bum like how it was from the late 90s to 2000s.
Wow that was almost the biggest JCVD had his arms, and yeah any of these long time martial arts guys can fight someone in a real situation just because they all spent too amny years learning all the moves to perfection, and there bodies are in crazy shape.
It was clearly a mistake for Van Damme to be pigeon holed as an action star. The cheesy/Orientalist late '80s/early '90s action movies were fun at the time, but his career fell apart when the genre died. But, look -- he's clearly really bright and charismatic and and funny. He'd have been better off as doing action comedy films like Jackie Chan or the Rock waaay earlier on. Not even as a "parody of himself," like in Jean-Claude Van Johnson, but as a straight-up action comedy star.
His career didnt fell apart because the genre died. He was badass in that era. Its like.... you cant make Jim Carrey a badass action star after his hits like ace ventura, the mask, dumb and dumber.
@@pinokio3785 That's not true at all.
