    Joey, stripped screws can be removed with Valve Lapping Compound (Course). Fill the hole with the compound and insert the screwdriver and carefully take it out. Its been one of the oldest tricks in the book and definitely worth trying before breaking any plastics. I hope you find this helpful. The compound can be purchased from your local auto parts supplier for approximately $8-$12. It would be nearly a lifetime supply as you don't need much. Have a great day!!!

    Hey Joey, I really like watching your videos lately and today I actually got a tip for you. If you encounter a severely stripped screw, try cutting a slot in it with the disc looking tool of the grinding pen. It should then be possible to unscrew it with a flat head screwdriver. I have so far managed to get every screw out with this method, even severely (and I really mean severely) water damaged, rusty ones.

    Hey Joey!
    Absolutely loving the vids
    One solution for stripped screws I learnt a very long time ago from my grandad (who was an electrician) is to use a piece of rubber band and push it in with the screwdriver, then try to unscrew it.
    Might seem like an ancient technique, but has yet to fail me!
    Anyways keep up the brilliant work :)

    Quick tip regarding the overall profit. I assume you might not really do this for profit, but in case you are:
    Most of the time when you buy stuff that is not working, the cost of buying + cost of fixing is too high to create a good profit (your time is valued).
    It is better to buy something cheap (and not broken) that has some value. I buy and sell secondhand online. When you know what you're buying, you have an average x3 ratio between buying price and selling price. Sometimes it is even bigger.
    First rule to resell well --> Buy cheap (99% of the time offline) :). Many people avoid shipping products and instead prefer finding buyers in their local area to avoid the risks and hassles of shipping such as fake complaints, PayPal reimbursement, damaged/lost parcels, etc.. Pay cash and buy local!
    If you want to fix stuff and resell it: get it for free or for nearly nothing (10 to 25% max of the MSRP depending on the complexity to fix it, not the possible resell price). Negotiate each time with the person that is selling!
    Finally, a lot of people reselling broken stuff online have already tried to fix it, so you are buying some hard or impossible fixes:)
    If your business model is getting money from YT, obviously my advice does not apply;)

      @JoeyDoesTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great advice, thankyou. This started off as a hobby so I was willing to dedicate time on it for free, but now I’m looking for further ways to make profits, so what you’ve said really helps 😊
      I have an official business address now, so will start to look at selling more stuff online. This will probably be a mix of things I find cheap to 3x, or broken things to sell fixed :)

    • @great_live_music
      @great_live_music ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoeyDoesTech That is a good way to make some money!
      Some additional advice from my experience (in France so it might be different for you).
      One thing I discovered that sells really high and quick are Logitech Harmony remote controls (since it is discontinued but without real great alternative). Also Bose products sold quick and easy (look for cheap Bose wave to fix for example).
      Everything that is video games related will eventually sell, but is facing high competition (games, console and controllers included). So you are not fixing your price, you are following others.
      Never pay for books, cd, dvd, etc. A lot of second hand reseller don’t pay for this (for example they are paid to empty houses after a death). The volume of selling products is immense, and your chance to sell them is really low.
      Finally, people are always looking for well known brands or high end brands. Synology, Withings, UniFi, Samsung, Sony, Logitech, etc. You can buy a great less-known-brand product to resell, but the velocity of the sale will be slower.
      Hopefully some of this is replicable where you live :)
