    Sowmya Ma'am, I would like to impress upon the fact that, adjustment of the salt consumption is possible only in the program panel using Start/Pause button (as given in the Faber manual).Whereas your video at 3:35 shows the adjustment knob for the Rinse aid.
    But anyways your videos have been so helpful and informative! Keep it up!!👍

Oh my gosh - I have been using the wrong lever all this time - this was what the installation person told me 🤦‍♀️ turns out it is for rinse aid which also has 1-6 ! thank you so much for pointing it to me Deepika - will go back and look at my setting now. Initially I used the factory default settings of the rinseaid and salt for the dishwasher. Now the water in most parts of Navi Mumbai is soft. While I could not go to a testing lab, I resorted to using a TDS meter(borrowed from my mom) and a ph balance strip. So I checked using various online calculators and getting sound advice regarding the settings from an Indian TH-camr Bhuvana Adi(she has a lot of videos on dishwasher usage for Bosch, LG and Voltas Beko. I can suggest visiting her channel) plus lot of trial and error. I now set my settings(both rinseaid and salt) to minimum. Not only that (watching few American and European videos) I realised that my detergent powder consumption is slightly less than 1 tablespoon for main wash and 1 teaspoon for prewash. Apart from this, just two days ago I found out that not all stainless steel utensils are suitable for dishwasher. As my hard anodized tawa and pressure cooker got spoilt due to years of usage plus mistake of putting in dishwasher, I decided to get a stainless steel tawa (for chapati) and pressure cooker. I was surprised to see that Hawkins specifically state not to wash the SS tawa and pressure cooker in dishwasher. I thought you might like to know.

      @TheGrapevineIndia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sreelakshmi, thanks for sharing! Yes its quite a bit of trial and error. Sometimes even the setting based on tds meter may be insufficient for your usage. If you have soft water in your area - that gives the best output. Unfortunately lot of places have significantly high TDS - which even the highest setting of dishwasher does not work - thereby needing an additional softener.

      After experimenting a lot with LG Dishwasher, i had long back suggested on Bhuvana Adi channel that normally utensils could be cleaned by using 6 to 7 grams of detergent. I had also shared my experience about drying, which requires Dishwasher to be opened for 5-8 minutes before closing again so that the stainless steel tub of dishwasher could utilise the retained heat for drying. Saumya Ji is doing wonderful job by looking the neglected sides of gadgets. Her videos on various gadgets are well studied and honest.

    I am using LG Dishwasher for the last one month. The service was quite good. After completion of 30 cycles I ran the machine clean program as recommended in the manual with vinegar. The salt level also started blinking while the machine clean cycle was on this I refilled the salt. The first wash after refill of salt was okay but the 2nd wash was not good as there were white marks on the utensils and the surface of the utensils became rough as if some salt is layered on the utensils. I have not changed the salt settings or rinse aid setting . It is H3 & L3. The settings seem perfect for last 30 cycles but after refilling the salt I faced the issue. I am using Finish detergent with finish rinse aid and salt. Kindly advise future course of action. My water TDS is 400.

      I have been using LG dishwasher with fortune salt, detergent and rise aid for about 5 months now in H4 and L2 settings and have been having good results. I changed to finish salt, detergent and rise aid last week and ran 4 cycles and all four cycles gave dishes with white stains. I even ran a cycle with vinegar and then a machine wash with vinegar, still the same result with white stains.

      Hi Sudipta, not sure what went wrong after the cleaning process. I recommended - try to change your detergent and salt. Other option the seems to work for lot of people is opening the door of the dishwasher right after the wash cycle - this disallows the settling salt/detergent on the vessels.

      Hi Megha, hello from a fellow Bangalorean 😊 it is not mandatory to use rinse aid and salt if you use a tablet and are getting good results. Try adjusting the salt as described in this video. Which detergent/tablet are you using? I recently started using this amzn.to/3FL77Em Ultimate tablet and it has reduced the white significantly too.

      Hi Archana, depends on what the hardness is after softening. Also depends on if you are using a tablet or detergent. So if mmol/l (hardness indicator) after softening falls within the range as well as you are using tablet - you may not need it.

      Hi Jaswinder, all dishwashers have a water softener that can soften upto 900ppm. Beyond that- you may need an external softener in addition.

      Hi Latha, this could be due to incorrect setting of salt, very hard water or detergent. I recommend you either try out adjusting those as mentioned in the video OR call your IFB service center and they may give you a solution.

    What causes white stains on utensils suddenly in 1 wash, after using the dishwasher for months, with no such problem earlier?
    Definitely the hardness has not suddenly changed middle of the day ( since morning load came out normally clean, with no white residue)....so that couldn't be the reason. Rinse aid, salt both are full.
    Maybe limescaling/mineral deposit? But why suddenly?

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Maya, perhaps scaling. Try descaling the dishwasher and a vinegar wash cycle.

      White stains may appear due to (1) change in detergent. (2) using Extra Dry option of LG, causing fast evaporation of water, leaving white stains. (3) washing aluminium utensils in long or hot cycles. Possible Solutions (A) use lesser detergent (B) add little vinegar at the beginning. (C) if using Aluminium utensils, use 38 minutes or 48 minute cycle, with 6 grams of detergent. (D) use longer cycles.
