Pulled this pump from a small water fountan, modified the pump to cool the electronics in my rc sprotfishing boat..
Here are a couple pumps that are very similar, they can be used for cooling or set up as bilge pumps for your Rc..

Great video ! I am 3d printing a boat and i had this idea of installing a cooling pump that constantly cools down the boat ! Not only it is better but i think that it makes the boat a lot more realistic giving you that feel that something is running inside constalty cooling things like a real boat !

Hello big B, I have been water cooling all my motors and ESC's with self priming dyaphram water pumps. I got mu first two from Amazon but I now see the OSE carries the same pump. I use two, one for cooling the motor and one for cooling the ESC. I also drill out my rudders to 1/8 and then file the pick up slots to the front of the rudder blade.The pump will pump about 1.6 litters a minute I get great cooling on my 1/8 scale miss Budweiser . Allows me to run a little bigger prop and still stay below 120 Deg. on motor and ESC during a 6 lap race.
I am now building up a 42 inch XL cheetah for Q class catamaran. I am experimenting on this boat with both rudder water pick up on both sides of the rudder and a double bottom water pick ups in the bottom of each sponson. One pump sucks water up from the rudder . There is a ball check valve in bottom pick that feeds into Y so that it can also feed water into the same main large water line to the ESC. The check valve is there to prevent the pump from pushing water back toward the bottom pick up when running a little slower when water flow from the bottom is not force full enough. People don't put much thought in to cooling their batteries. Batteries are expensive to replace when they get to hot and pop. Keep your batteries cooler by using a water plate on each side of the battery. Here is were I use the second bottom water pick to to run water to the cooling plate and then over board. If you would like to know more about this please call me at 513-673-3953. The hobby has only been running electrics for a short time when compared to nitro and gas boats so the thought of using pumped water is a fairly new idea. We don't get any were enough water flow through a rudder alone to cools Electrics down enough compared to the heat that is generated form high amp draws. Allways remember KEEP THE SMOKE INSIDE THE MOTOR AND THE esc.

Very nice video... I did something very similar on my M41, as it was getting a bit hot even with a dual pickup rudder. I still pickup from the rudder, but now use the pump to ensure a steady water flow. It runs much cooler now.
it's nice to have the boat cool 100% while on the water at speed or at a Stand still/idle. Thanks for watching IRONCLAD RC

That's a cool pump! Bad joke, I know.... 😉 Adding a water pump also adds a little extra weight to a boat, but cooling is way better. I have a semi-scale boat that I built out of plywood and mahogany, and in this boat I've installed a small self-priming pump in combination with a small automotive fuel filter that takes care of any green stuff that might block the cooling system. From the pump and filter, the cooling water is split into 2 circuits: 1 for the motor, and 1 for the ESC, and 2 water outlets through the side of the boat provide me visual confirmation that all is ok. It works really well because when I stop the boat, there is no heat build up - it continues cooling between runs. For extra convenience. I have it connected to a third channel for switching the pump on and off. It has been worth the extra effort, as the motor and ESC run ultra cool. I've been thinking about a simple, light weight system to cool the batteries, but I don't have a solution to that (yet).

wow stumbled upon this vid lol i was just last nite contemplating on puttin a pump in my horizon tug to cool the hobbywing 1080 esc i throwin in and cool the motor too. thought id test it first without just to see if i need it first. if i do need it id like to see if i could plumb it in the back of the tug to get more weight on theprop when pushing the larger speed boats
The extra weight in the transom is a good idea. I used 1lb of fishing lead in my transom
O'Reilly Auto has Windshield washer pumps for WAY cheep too.

Why not run off reciever voltage?
It drew to much current from bec. I tried it, the servo would barely move due to lack of voltage
