As the full-size truck segment heats up for 2019, Ram throws its entry into the mix with plenty of segment first features. Riding on an all-new steel frame, Ram was able to shed about 225 pounds of mass, while adding exclusive features like a 12" tablet style display, adaptive LED headlights, and refining elements like the coil spring rear axle and adjustable air suspension. Under the hood, the e-Torque mild hybrid system add as much as 130 lb-ft of torque to the already potent 5.7L HEMI V8. Buyers looking for all the luxury of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class but need the capability and space of a truck should put this new Ram 1500 at the top of your list.

I looked at the new Ram in person at a car show and I can say unequivocally it has the best door shut sound. Of any vehicle ever. That seems to be a big deal on this channel.
I'll admit, I'm obsessed with the door shut sound. The GM cars' door shut sound is so trashy compared to the competition.

Trust me, you won't want this after 1 year. I just drove one at the auto show, the first thing I noticed was the check engine light. Then I went to adjust the rear view mirror, it was just flapping in the wind with no friction to hold it up. At this moment, the typical FCA quality is showing. Hopefully the quality gets tightened up after the first year.

New trucks are always more luxurious than cars. It's like they don't even bother with cars anymore.
Why would they bother with cars when these things cost $15k to produce and they sell millions for $50k? They also need to justify the cost. These vehicles should be starting in the $20ks or lower
Ram has always been my least favorite out of the big three, but this changes things. Beautiful truck inside and out, and the technology is really cool, even if some of it is not necessary for everyone.

I got a 2019 Laramie in Delmonico Red just like the first truck you showed. I loved it so much I ordered an upgrade, an EcoDiesel Longhorn in black just like the one you tested. These trucks are awesome.

I test drove the Classic, the Bighorn, and the Larmamie. They were all great to drive. 2 wheel and 3 wheel drives. I am seriously considering buying one now.
Awesome video, Sofyan! I can't believe that head unit. Granted it's the top trim, but my goodness! The lowering air suspension from the key really puts it over the top. RAM brought it with this one!
That air ride will be the reason you are getting rid of it one day! When they tell you that it will cost 5k to fix it!
A.F.S. Mine is a Laramie longhorn with out air suspension and without panoramic sunroof, as much as i wish it had those add one, I’m happy they are 2 things that can’t go wrong.

I had a ram for over 5 yrs and NEVER gave me a problem! Best truck I’ve ever had! My dad later bought a Ford F-150 for work and it broke down on me the day after We got it. I haven’t even had the Ford for a year and it’s still giving me problems. ...... I miss my ram 😔
Owned two recent model Silverados. At 61, I can't wait to get my hands on this fantastic truck. It really does blow the competition away and is going to make huge profits for Ram. As of this writing the inventory is really sparse in Florida. I'm sure by year end, I'll be able to get the Longhorn I want. I haven't been this excited about a vehicle for decades.

Issue is that as you can see with the map at the end, it's still a bit choppy (maybe they'll patch it). Also, not a fan of having the temps there and stuff. Idk, maybe I'd get used to it. It does LOOK nice though.
Did anyone else catch the $5,000 price for that attention getting center screen. To be fair the $5 grand includes some other electronic goodies.
Question: Does FCA / Dodge have a plan to “update” this glitzy computer routinely ? Or in 2 years will it be just another obsolete mobile device where apps, one by one, begin to run slowly or not at all because the base system is out of date?

Definitely an important vehicle for FCA, the Jeep Brand sells the most vehicles collectively, compared to the RAM however the PU segment does sell more than every Jeep model individually good call. I thought you were wrong and checked the numbers but once again you got your facts straight. Love your show, love the content, stay healthy and look forward to seeing the next one!
WOW, Ram is really giving Chevy and Ford a run for their money this year. I've always been a Ram guy but I always knew Chevy and Ford were better in a lot of aspects such as tech, interior design, and sophistication but I have to say Ram really stepped it up and outdid themselves this year.
Dodge, should build a S Class size sedan with that interior design and the Hellcat 707hp motor & AWD...
Fromthefuture mix the hellcat charger with the jeep grand Cherokee trackhawk AWD and the 2019 rams interior and you got a winner

I'm a huge fan of Ram. I've owned 3 and want this new one. Impressive interior, body style and so glad they made the rear seat back rest tilt some. I hated the upward seat, not comfortable for long drives. Can't wait to purchase this beast.
There's a massive difference between a 70s and a 90s American vehicle. The 12 inch in-dash screen made me realize how much of a difference there is between a new car today and something from the mid-2000s.

Love the storage and the wood grain wheel in the interior. Also, its wild how small the Hemi looks in the giant engine bay! Seems like a great truck. Probably my next vehicle.

I sat in this exact Longhorn interior at our car show in our city. He’s right, that interior will blow you away. That old rough barn wood trim on the dash and doors is super unique and very well done. Very disappointed that you didn’t review the rear seating area and didn’t mention the class exclusive cooled and reclining rear seats. F-150 Platinum was my truck to purchase this year, but I seriously have to reconsider now...
A B Would stay far away from FCA. I didn’t listen to consumer reports and other reliability/repair lists and sure enough within only a few years; already in the shop. A brand new truck should not have electrical issues in a few years. While it’s just one experience, just go around and ask mechanics. Avoid Ram like the plague
lpmoora electronic glitches will be expected, especially with an all new platform and electronics suite. It’s probably best to wait for the second or third year production run, but that interior sure is tempting...

Sat in one in the NYC autoshow last week and the backseats are humongous. Im 6 3 and had the most space I've ever had in any car.

I picked up a bighorn crew cab 1500 a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it. The hemi is plenty if you ask me . Way more powerful than the 5.3 in the GMs. Highly recommend looking at the new Rams before buying a truck.

Brooding Bork Personally I’m not a huge fan. The wheel arches are unusual looking. The rear end is bland. I like the new front end look though, but basically from the headlight to the tail light I don’t like
The power lag that you experience could be due to axle ratios...normally the ratio is 3.21, but the optional 3.92 ratio would give you more punch when you need it...my 2013 Ram 1500 2WD had a 3.55 ratio and it was not sluggish at all, even with the old six speed trans...my newer 2017 Rebel had the 3.92 ratio, and the performance was brilliant for a stone stock truck.
Never say never. I said I would never buy a dodge jeep Chrysler product but just the other day I drove a jeep Cherokee rental and I really enjoyed it. And this truck here is making me so excited. It's like I designed the truck myself. There isnt anything I have an issue with

If you care more about the interior then a pickup truck is not for you go buy a Mercedes

My 4th gen has an amazing interior, that my whole family loves, this gen improves things nicely, especially for style and comfort. That entertainment system is the best of the big 3 as well in user experience. QuiteMacOS like with a totally logical bottom screen iconified menu... You will like a Ram, it's an amazingly car like experience. Ford and GM lag on the user experience, drive characteristics and NVH parameters. Ram is the crown of the FCA portfolio. I am sure they are very happy in the direction this truck family is going.
These are very nice trucks and female buyers are said to be the largest new segment of pick-up truck buyers at this time. The prices of these trucks along with many large/luxurious pick-ups & SUVs have become obscene.

What a truck! RAM has undoubtedly made this an amazing vehicle worthy of export to other countries to take on the likes of other auto manufacturers who kind of dominate in these various countries. If RAM exports this even as far as Australia and Africa within the right price bracket I believe this would be one of the world's best selling trucks!

Yes. Would so love to see this. We have a 2015 Durango. We love it. If I had one complaint, it would be that it is too narrow, and basically too small over all. An SUV of this truck would be perfect for our family

Ram is one of the few brands of vehicles we can't get in Australia, it looks like a pretty good vehicle. Personally im not a fan of the interior look but I do really like that finally at least one company has put in a really decent LCD system, so often they look nice but are pretty unresponsive to touch. By the look of it all its missing is the full LCD speedo setup that can show the NAV directly in your view behind the steering wheel with the speedo such as AUDI and MERC have. I do really like how the vehicle can lower itself as I am also short and I really like how you can fold up the rear seats which would make the space perfect for a large dog or two.
I special ordered my new longhorn which topped out right under 72K! All worth it though can't wait for delivery! I have many high end super cars but believe it or not my existing longhorn is my favorite vehicle to drive on a everyday basis!

what if you use for some personal work and recreation. this truck sucks, all the 2019 and up do. a 2018 chevy is the last one I would even consider buying, and even then its a push
Completely agree. God forbid you open your tailgate with an actual mechanical device. Has to be a electronic module doing it for you. Absolutely ridiculous. I've heard people argue in favor of electronically actuated tailgates/hatches for the elderly/disabled/handicapped etc, but if you don't have the physical strength to open a tailgate... how tf are you actually going to use the pickup bed for anything heavier than a couple pillows???
All these LCD screens and electronic distraction enablers all over the truck just jack the price up by an insane amount across all trim levels and don't add much usability. Why do you need a massive screen + computer in your dash? You're supposed to be driving not surfing the internet or messaging people!
And I've always hated the knobby electronic shifters. I cannot figure out the thought process behind this "feature". There were no problems using traditional linkage and a lever to shift an automatic trans. Now what happens when your battery dies or the shifting module goes to shit and you need to get into neutral or something? Yeah of course there's the emergency neutral cable hidden somewhere off in the dash - but who all is going to know that except a mechanic?
I feel like pickup truck makers are trying to accommodate a demographic of people that should NOT be driving trucks in the first place. If you can't live with a simple interior, basic features, a rougher than normal ride or loud noises - you shouldn't be driving a truck. You should buy a luxury car.
There is basic trucks for a lot lower prices, with out the fancy crap, just make sure u tell the sales man at the dealer lol

Ram surpassed all by far!!! Of all my fleet vehicles Ram has held up way better than the others ( I have Ford and GM). Toyota was too wimpy to play in my fleet so never held on to those.
No ram is holding up better than Ford or Chevy. I own a ram, they're cheaply made and have weak frames. Head on collision and you're toast from the waist down.
I love you Ford and Chev lovers, I was one too. Come see my fleet I actually have the proof.
