I never get tired of watching reactions to, it's just so enjoyable the way people start laughing and dancing when seeing this.
Finland bringing joy to the world!
There's even a pretty nice story in the song, as it's about a man sitting in a club after a hard week, trying to relax but feeling like he's got "an icy shell" he needs to demolish to have fun and get on the dance floor.
Then the piña coladas do their thing and (as the song makes the switch from the harder first part to the campy pop second part), he turns into a whole new man who "isn't afraid of the world anymore."
Käärijä has also mentioned that while this is obviously mainly a party song, he hopes that it will encourage people to feel free to go out there and dance like no one is watching, and maybe even ask themselves if they really need alcohol to do it.

There was a bit of panic yesterday in Finland when Käärijä apparently didn't pay enough attention when he put his green costume in his car and it accidentally fell out while he was driving. Luckily, it was found today and returned to him. So yeah, no need to cancel Finland's attendance in Eurovision after all :D
it was so funny. he came in and did not know what to do: hug ? shake hands ? stay standing still awkwardly 🙈 also he felt visibly uncomfortable walking into the house with shoes on 😅 if that's not stereotypically finnish, I don't know WHAT is 😆 then the kids asked him if he liked Messi or Ronaldo ⚽️
It's also a good thing that he has more than one of those costumes.

Yes he has a lot of charm! This song has grown on me. The only thing I don't like is the lyrics. Its a shame that he puts so much emphasis on booze. My kid asked me what he sings about and wanted me to translate word by word. Had to change a lot.
@@evipevi1973 It could be interpreted as a party song, but also as a song about social anxiety, or letting go of your masculine need to be ”icy” and in control. In the video the masculine side is ”defeated” by the feminine side of Käärijä that just wants to let loose.
@@eels3658 thank you for your interpretation. Its interesting but also problematic in a gender perspective. Why shoud the icy and control side of him be a metaphor for masculine traits and the pink, happy and cheerful dancers be a parallell to femininity? Its a little bit risky using sterotypes isnt it?
Women are also allowed to have social anxiety and to be angry and vice versa. I know that, thats not literally what he means but I want to mention it in this context. Introvercy (is that a word?) is genderless. So I am not really a fan of these stereotypes being shown here. Possibly Käärija is critizising those sterotypes by using them like this...but still its kind of problematic at least for people who don't try to reflect on what they see and hear on stage.
