I've been riding a set of 38mm Super Team carbon wheels for about 5 or 6 years now and they are still very true, still look great and I've never had an issue with them. I've even commented on this channel that you should review their wheels, so I'm very happy to see that you now have. I paid less than $300 US when I bought these wheels on sale on Amazon, and the majority of their wheels are still less than $500 US. Why anyone would purposely spend so much more money on a set of wheels that aren't really any better is a question I can't answer, other than this sport catering to the elitist athlete who wants to impress their friends with how much they spend on their bike. I've also been using the Assioma power pedals for quite a few years and they are amazing as well. The whole point of cycling should be to find the best value so that the most people can afford to participate at whatever level they choose. You can build a very solid race bike for under $3000 including the wheels and everything else. Keep up the great work reviewing these quality Chinese bikes/wheels/parts. Not all of them are top quality, but many are and by you trying them first, we can make smarter buying decisions.
I also have the 38mm superteam wheels. I had several issues in the first 3,000 miles...spoke nipples started breaking on both wheels. I wound up using spokes from my old and barely used mavic Aksium wheels. I also had to replace the bearings in the rear hub in the rear hub. One of the bigger bearings had completely seized. I had read that bearing were a know issue. After that, I never had a problem.. I think I put 10 to 12 thousand miles on them to this point, but won't ride them any more due to brake track wearing thin. But for $300, they were great carbon wheels, especially for my 1st set.
for me who get at max 10k kms a year, the super teams are more than enough. i'll leave the dt swiss to those who compete for a living. thanks for the review.

I own an ENVE AR 4.5 SES wheel set and a Hunt 40 Carbon Aero Disc wheelset. The cost difference between the two wheel sets is approximately the same as your cost differences of your two wheelsets. The difference in performance between my two wheelsets is most notable when comparing the effects of winds at varying yaw angles. With the Enve wheels you can feel the wind pressure but they cut through this pressure with a controlled stability whereas with the Hunt wheels you feel more instability at the same speeds. Also the cost differential can be attributed to the better guarantee offered by the higher priced wheels such as Enve which has an unconditional replacement clause whenever one of its wheels is damaged. With the Hunt wheelset you only have a guarantee against manufacture defects. Granted you could still buy another 2 complete wheelsets with Hunt if you damaged your wheels so you would still be ahead in that respect. In retrospect I would still buy the Hunt wheelset vs the Enve as they are pretty much equal or surpass the Enve wheelset in all other aspects. (Weight, rolling resistance, aero effects and COST) Also when I purchased the Enve wheelset the Hunt wheelset had not yet been a proven and peloton test product. But now you see them in the TDF and coblestones of Paris-Roubaix
I have the 60 / 55mm wave version of this wheelset. value for money and confirmed improved in cross wind and top speed comparing it to the older Gen 1 Hyper 65mm

Both on 700x28c tires and the less expensive Notatec hubs. The fixie has about 3000 miles and 1500 miles on the road bike…. So far, no issues at all and both true! Hi Cam, test results, your experience sound encouraging. 1. Are these wheeels tubeless ready? 2. If positive would you switch to tubeless? 3. Do they arrive complete with ceramic bearings of Superteams’ production? 4. Have you had a chance to use their light inner tubes? How would you rate them vs. Pirelli’s light inner tubes? You’ve been doing great job. Caught up tp your channel just now. The video you share when you received a first mail from Merida manager after two years of knocking on other doors and being ignored (don’t we all know it?) is so emotinal. Funnily enough I am of very similar build to yours and on my own made decision to buy reacto 8000 at the beginning of the season. It proved to be a great decision. Even Reynolds AR58 wheelset turned out to cope with cross winds really well (unlike your experience). Keep fingers for you.

I bought a set of CN carbon wheels, they actually made them to order with custom touches and price was excellent however they have a few issues that I’ll have to fix myself.
Been riding on Superteam wheelset for a few years and they haven’t skipped a beat. Had a few spokes come loose but that’s to be expected at that price point.
Great review Cam. With so many different options to choose from these days I was starting getting lost in the Carbon Wheel world when it came to choice . I just recently bought myself a new Scultura & ended up upgrading to a set of Scope R5 wheels for $1800 AU, after much discussion with a lot of much younger & semi professional guys I Know & ride with. Not the lightest of rims on the market, but for a Weekend hack like myself I’m more than happy with them. PS the mo looks great 👍
Great review as always. Took a screenshot of the data. The results are soooo close. I'd probably buy Caden wheels again because of the 'buy local' factor, but without looking up prices I expect I would be paying $500 to $1000 AUD more.
i have old super team wheel 50 & 60mm profile with basic R13 hubset. so far still good after few years although i'm not a big mileage recorder. only change the front hub bearing once. the rim brake track has kinda a burned brake pad residue sticked to the surface due to heavy braking during long hilly descent. unable to remove it with simple washing & gentle scrubbing.
Hey Cam! So I just ordered their newer S-All Carbon Evo wheels. A few years ago I never would have even looked at Superteam. Ive been working in the cycling industry for a while now for a big name company and I just wanted to try something new after using the same brand for years and years now. I have high hopes for these wheels. I'll keep ya posted lol!

Great video Cam , I have almost two months with this Superteam wheels great quality and they perform very well on flat on climbing and on the wind the only suggestion is to install your own rim tape because they came with only one layer and poor quality ,,if you like speed I highly recommend it👍🏻👌🏻
I ride SuperTeam wheels and they absolutely slap. They actually came in almost 100g UNDER the advertised weight (maybe that weight included the included skewers?) and have been flawless so far. Only paid $379 for them, although I wish I paid the extra to get the full carbon version w/ ceramic bearings. As someone who cant afford $3,000 wheels, they are an amazing option. That said, if you are a serious racer, the speed difference of the DT Swiss justifies the price. 3mph faster on just one decent is crazy. Now imagine the difference across a 100 mile race. It's likely minutes faster.
I have only recently heard about these wheels, but I looking at a set of wheels for my 2016 Trek Domane rim brake. I currently using a set of Bontrager rims that are 50 mm deep and have an alloy brake surface. But I have had both front and rear re trued, and had to replace spokes on the rear. Ideally I would like a whole new bike, but another set of 50 mm dep rim wheels would suffice , but I don’t really want to spend big$$$$$ on wheels for a bike that is only worth maybe $1500.
I have been riding the Super Team Gravel Wheels I picked up for around $400. I have had them for around 2 years now. They have been a solid wheelset. I did have a hub go bad, apparently the hubs are only under warranty for 6 months or a year. It was like $50 and two weeks for them to get a new hub out to me. Overall I would definitely get another wheel set through them.
Cam, if you had to pick between a Reacto 6000 ($4000) and a Helios A7x ($4500), which one are you picking? Must be appropriate for climbing. I've watched your reviews on both multiple times, would love your direct opinion on it.
Yesterday I did my first ride on my new chinese carbon wheeset: 38mm deep rims laced to dt swiss 240 hubs for $1100 landed in Aus. PBs on all but 2 strava segments on a local 42km route. The only problem is that the freehub is too quiet! I mean virtually silent. Quieter even than shimano which are known for being quiet.
Something to be said with after purchase support though...I've had to use zipp warranty a couple of times, both times (1x build fault, 1x crash) a new wheel no questions asked in about 2 business day turn around. Simply would not happen with an eastern wheel.
Not all riders are created equal and not all race days are the same, The Superteam wheels are worth a serious nod and with the remaining spare change the scope is there to invest in other weight shaving options.
Alright Cam, need the final decide. If you had to choose between Superteam and Elves Valar (either way I'm doing a stint on the couch) which one is worth the penalty box time?
Quick and straight review, so good! And some nice wheels that make it more difficult for me to opt for Elite Drive, Exar ultra or, now, these Superteam😅. I have a question, I asked the Superteam about the bearings, if these have steel races or are completely ceramic... They told me that the bearings are completely ceramic, balls and races, can you confirm? Anyway, it seems likely that it's a new feature... I don't know.
Thanks for the video Cam, these Superteam look great! The speed test is interesting but after you‘ve already ridden these for over 6 months now, the most important question still remains: How do they ride?
hi, in a video you pimped the ican aero disc wheels by converting the bearings to ceramic bearings. I also have bikes like this and would like to do the same for myself. but apparently I need other bearings... I have probably The hubs are Novatec D411SB/D412SB. The dimension of bearings. Front:6803RU, Rear:15267 Which bearings do I need for the freehub? Many greetings, Jens
I'd be really keen to see the test re run with really good quality steel bearings in the Superteam. Ceramic bearings according to some aren't all that.
The faster wheel will almost certainly be the one that more closely matches the inflated tire width. This has to be measured and controlled for. As he said that these can take 25 or 28 mm tires, that means he's not that concerned with this. That's an issue.
I'm surprised to hear you have had some ceramic bearings go notchy in the past in a 6 month period, I've never had ceramic bearing wheels before but had expected they would last longer than steel.
Cam, thx for this great find. What about durability and capability to sustain bumps and potholes? Seen any sign that these wheels may or may not last as more expensive products?
After 5 years using superteam 50mm profile and paired with dt350 hub, boy this wheel is amazing. Rolling 35km/h in flat is a breeze, i'm barely hitting 1.5w/kg to maintain the speed.
We have authorized superteam seller here, so we can ask to just order the rim+spoke then ask them pairing it with any hub you request with additional cost of course But $700 for carbon rim + dt350 hub is a no brainer
As a generalisation - better rolling resistance down a descent or in a draft (normally hub related), and they tend to hold their trueness a bit better, probably due to QA, but I feel that is changing.
Thanks for the review. But there are certainly a few concerns that come with this wheelset. There are only 18 spokes of the 2:1 two-to-one spoke lacing pattern. Meaning... only 6 spokes on the non-drive side of the front wheel. Seriously this design is pushing the carbon spoke to “zone 5”. The horizontal Turning/ cutting tension will apply to the spoke when you brake. Usually on other wheelsets, it’s fine. But this one… 6 spokes😢😂 Also the inner hub tooth does not last that long…
hey Cam great review mate - can I suggest saying 'USD' or 'US dollars' for prices in the future? 'USD dollars' is a bit grating to some pedants like me!
If I may... Although I have tested HYPER SE 2023 which are 99% the same as HYPER 2023, the difference in speed between them and Superteams is negligible. But Superteams are more stable in crosswinds.
@@cyclistshubI actually prefer the look of these over the hypers, and probably would have gone for them had I known about them a month ago, especially with the cost saving. That said, the hypers are sick too so no regrets.
@@jameseastwood402 I like HYPER design more. But Superteams with the chrome decals make a cool rainbow effect in direct sunglight, so they started to grow on me. 😅
Their 45mm Disc wheels are $520! This feels too cheap, for some reason my brain is okay, when you say $1000 for a wheel that compares to a $2000-3000, but $520 makes me nervous. Then again, having a backup spare wheelset is a good idea.

Something to be said with after purchase support though...I've had to use zipp warranty a couple of times, both times (1x build fault, 1x crash) a new wheel no questions asked in about 2 business day turn around. Simply would not happen with an eastern wheel.
Cheers for the review! Nice mo btw! Will def check them out as sound good.
I would be concerned about crosswinds with those wheels with those wide-bladed spokes. Any feedback on that?
Not all riders are created equal and not all race days are the same, The Superteam wheels are worth a serious nod and with the remaining spare change the scope is there to invest in other weight shaving options.
Take a drink everytime he says "united states dollars dollars”
I'm getting flash backs to "rapid antigen test test"
Was gonna drop some cash on some Hypers... Now I'm reconsidering.
Great Work Cam
For me these look better but I'd say the Hypers are a touch stiffer. Although I prefer some softness in the wheel. Less harsh. Cheers
Alright Cam, need the final decide. If you had to choose between Superteam and Elves Valar (either way I'm doing a stint on the couch) which one is worth the penalty box time?
@@stuartfrancis519 SuperTeams would be my choice. Visually a really good looking rim too, so they will pimp your bike up as an added benefit.
I had to watch this particular video twice because both your content AND your moustache deserved that kind of attention🤣
They’re lighter in weight and have less rotational friction. You can go faster with lower rolling resistance.I love it.
Thanks for the video Cam, these Superteam look great! The speed test is interesting but after you‘ve already ridden these for over 6 months now, the most important question still remains:
How do they ride?
They ride like a top shelf wheel. I'm very impressed for the price. Personally prefer them over the hypers.
@@CamNichollswhat about compared to the Creative?
hi, in a video you pimped the ican aero disc wheels by converting the bearings to ceramic bearings.
I also have bikes like this and would like to do the same for myself.
but apparently I need other bearings...
I have probably
The hubs are Novatec D411SB/D412SB.
The dimension of bearings.
Front:6803RU, Rear:15267
Which bearings do I need for the freehub?
Many greetings, Jens
I'd be really keen to see the test re run with really good quality steel bearings in the Superteam. Ceramic bearings according to some aren't all that.
Thanks for sharing Doctor C.
The faster wheel will almost certainly be the one that more closely matches the inflated tire width. This has to be measured and controlled for.
As he said that these can take 25 or 28 mm tires, that means he's not that concerned with this. That's an issue.
Great video. Please what phone holder do you test and recommend? I remember you talk about one, but can't find the video... Thanks
Need some advice on which wheels to get for general riding? I was looking at the zipp 303s but now I’m thinking about some cheaper options
I've had some superteam clinchers since like 2015. Don't ride then anymore but they were quality for £300 even back then.
I'm surprised to hear you have had some ceramic bearings go notchy in the past in a 6 month period, I've never had ceramic bearing wheels before but had expected they would last longer than steel.
That mustache 😂😂😂😂😂. Love your channel buddy. Just had to say it because we are all thinking it. 😂😂😂😂😂
Cam, thx for this great find. What about durability and capability to sustain bumps and potholes? Seen any sign that these wheels may or may not last as more expensive products?
Excellent video! Thank you
If ordering some to Aus are there any extra expenses on top to take into account...taxes, customs etc?
Love the new moustache! Lol. Good video, to the point!
i was looking to them secretly them you came , thanks man :).
Greetings from France ;)
Great video man thanks
Good value. Not as wide as I'd like, & the lack of local support would be troubling. Also the dimpling isn't as much zipp as Contental GP5000!
From another moustachioed man, it looks great mate.
After 5 years using superteam 50mm profile and paired with dt350 hub, boy this wheel is amazing. Rolling 35km/h in flat is a breeze, i'm barely hitting 1.5w/kg to maintain the speed.
How could you parred them?
We have authorized superteam seller here, so we can ask to just order the rim+spoke then ask them pairing it with any hub you request with additional cost of course
But $700 for carbon rim + dt350 hub is a no brainer
Other than speed, do you notice anything as far as ride quality between the high end wheels and one of the more budget options?
As a generalisation - better rolling resistance down a descent or in a draft (normally hub related), and they tend to hold their trueness a bit better, probably due to QA, but I feel that is changing.
Was the testing done with or without the mo?
Thanks for the review. But there are certainly a few concerns that come with this wheelset. There are only 18 spokes of the 2:1 two-to-one spoke lacing pattern. Meaning... only 6 spokes on the non-drive side of the front wheel. Seriously this design is pushing the carbon spoke to “zone 5”. The horizontal Turning/ cutting tension will apply to the spoke when you brake. Usually on other wheelsets, it’s fine. But this one… 6 spokes😢😂 Also the inner hub tooth does not last that long…
Are these wheels the ones with the Kogel bearings? Or is that some other ones…
what happened with deCadence wheels ?
hey Cam great review mate - can I suggest saying 'USD' or 'US dollars' for prices in the future? 'USD dollars' is a bit grating to some pedants like me!
I need to go to the ATM machine to withdraw some USD dollars
Just saying my thumbs up is for the video and not the moustache 😅
haha. Cheers
I like your new mustache 😅 Cheers
Is Carbon spoke to stiff compare to alloy ?
Just got a set of these in rim brake. I loooooove them. I definitely don't need to spend triple for a few seconds faster.
It’s a really good bang for bucks in my opinion
good stuff, once again.
Awesome Cam! 👏❤️🚴🇵🇭🇺🇸💪
I heard that they are running a 10th anniversary special sale, and I kind of want to try Chinese wheels.🤔
I'd call that a Conti GP dimple design
Are the superteam wheels stiff?
Look great too… just need to make their logo a bit smaller
What's the durability like though....
Would you ride them on Adelaide "roads"?
Roads around here are arguably harsher so yes. But I’ve only ridden them for six months.
Cam, did you have to pay Australian duties and taxes on top of the USD991?
They cover shipping and tax, guys.
We ❤the mustache
I'll bet that mo's added a solid 20w to your FTP! 😀
The DT Swiss have the great Swiss Side aero rims.
How did the speed tests compare to 23 hypers?
Cam should look into the Chung Method. His "speed tests" are very inaccurate.
Cam can the Superteam take a 30mm tire?
30mm - living on the edge. If a current model wheel can't do that...
@@byrondixon4648 30mm is fine
Are you preparing for buying a gravel bike with this mustache? :)
Any word on the Disc Wheel?
Thank you Sir! Where’s Cam?🤣
Mate, you've got a slug balanced on your top lip! Is it an Aero gain?🐌
Their 45mm Disc wheels are $520! This feels too cheap, for some reason my brain is okay, when you say $1000 for a wheel that compares to a $2000-3000, but $520 makes me nervous. Then again, having a backup spare wheelset is a good idea.
