    Another no-nonsense review courtesy of your good self. Not a bike I am remotely interested in, but like most motorcyclists I like to keep up to speed with what is available....

    The dash is actually better on the R version even though it's more simplified. It's really nice to have a standard looking digital tachometer that's much easier to read than the weirdo looking duo tachometers that they put on the RS model. I don't understand why Triumph won't listen to the massive wave of feedback from their customers; no one really likes they way they've set up the TFT on the more expensive model.I've loved the R's display ever since I've seen the Trident's 660 iteration of it. It's all one needs!

    Great review of a lovely road bike from Triumph - has to be my favourite all round sporty road bike and they sound absolutely glorious too! The R strikes a very good balance of having virtually all of the performance and functionality of the RS but at reduced cost so very good value for a premium street bike👍👍

    My trust in some of the vloggers I routinely watch has become a bit jaundiced. You, however, always provide opinions and info without thinking about the next corporate freebie. I've given up on vloggers who are too scared to provide an opinion because they might offend someone in marketing. You are free of this stuff. So, thanks for that.

    Thanks Mark. It seems that the "R" has had a few engine tweaks but retains all that was already great about this fast but very rideable middleweight. Being the owner of the 2021 model your review captured brilliantly what I think this machine is all about. Call me a wus but I rarely ride in sports mode as it's all too easy to achieve licence-losing speeds in the blink of an eye. Curiously it's happy enough at 30mph in 6th without any feeling of bogging down or stalling - Truly the ease of a 300 with the performance of a sports bike. Please keep up the good work and I look forward to your next Vlog. :>)

    Great review of an awesome machine, Mark - I think you enjoyed it! You're right about buying the R for the road & saving £1700 over the RS. But Triumph will soon claw it back from you too as the flyscreen & bellypan are extra, the bar end mirrors are cool & a single seat hump looks the business too!

    Had the 2020 R. Needle tachometer, quick shift, slightly less on the wrists, didn’t notice any difference in power, and what I felt was better suspension on not perfect roads. Everyone bangs on about the rs being better, but I found it the other way round. Money wasn’t a factor in my decision. On a track, yes, the rs ohlins will perform better.

      I’d definitely advise at least an hour demo before buying this , I bought the speed triple 1200 without testing it and I loved it at first, but now I just find it annoying and irritating to ride because day to day it’s just uncomfortable too fast. It doesn’t like going through traffic. It’s a bit of a waste of a bike in my opinion but I did have a ride on the street triple and I thought it’s perfect for UK roads as a do it all Bike , even though it’s not as powerful it makes up for it because it’s so comfortable to ride and it’s so light . 180 hp is a total waste of a bike but 130 is pretty much perfect 👍🏾

    Its rather strange when my 2008 second generation Suzuki Hayabusa have a 190 rear tyre and then my much smaller Triump Street Triple R 2010 have a 180 rear tyre. But the SURPRISE power in that Street Triple is beyond words. Nothing you expect when walking past it. 😄

      The simple answer is because I wanted it 😂
      The Ohlins feels so good. I think any particular feature on its own, perhaps not worth the premium. But all together it just seems to work. And if you find a brand new '22RS like I did on discount, the out the door is a lot closer than you'd think

  • @sambagogo777

    "LED lights all round"
    Is that the case? On the Triumph UK website's configurator LED indicators (both normal and "scrolling" iterations) are listed as optional extras for both the R and RS. That would presumably suggest they only come with halogen indicators as standard.
    Also, that example is fitted with a fly screen and belly pan which are also optional extras.

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi LEDs are standard on these ...maybe that option is for better blingy ones ?

    Hey Mark, How does it compare to the 790 Duke? Can you please tell if this has a comparable midrange than a 790 Duke.

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi the 790 duke is much stronger in the midrange say 5 k rpm ...the triumph is just waking up then and flies upto about 12 k rpm whereas the duke is over and done by 9 k ish

    Bike Magazine recently tested this new Speed Triple R and said it flops into slow speed corners and mini roundabouts. Did you notice this?

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  ปีที่แล้ว

      No not all all. I would have definitely noticed that ...Perfect low speed manners for me .. couldn't fault the handling fast or slow ...funny isn't it how some reviews say things that most people don't even notice 😂😂

    Have you ever revved a bike past half engine speed ?

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes all the time off camera lol 😆 ...I can't incriminate myself at super high speed if you rev a bike to max revs they are travelling at super high speed as you know ...I have my reputation to uphold with dealers .. public safety my safety ...the list goes on ...most dealers love the way I sensibly ride their bikes hence I get more keys

    I bought my 2022 Speed Triple 1200rs From Destination Triumph last year great place to buy a bike but I’m really looking forward to trading it for the Rs Street triple it totally fed up with the ride of the Speed Triple, it’s fast but SO irritating to ride, it’s either full gas or just shit tbh 😢
