Excellent video! I'm curious if you or other teachers or students could tell me - does RCM proficiency of scales require memorising the scales? I mean, if I am to meet RCM requirements - should I bbe memorising my scales or are the grade requirements still met if you play with aid of sheet music? I'm at a grade 6-7 level but am at middle age and honestly don't have the time to memorise. Perhaps more importantly, I just can't see to remember scales as I once did. I'm curious what RCM expects. Thank you.

Yep you have to memorise it. The RCM syllabus tells you what scales they expect you to play proficiently and they'll pick a few scales on your exam day. So you should learn and memorise everything in case they ask it.

I'm not sure I agree ABRSM grade 5 is more difficult (referring to technical work only). I don't know why ABRSM get rid of broken chords after I think g2, and like your RCM solid chords and actually practice them...fast chord progressions are the thing I struggle most with, but are in most pieces from intermediate level.
