    Top button, the set of 4 at right of our screen pale shell pretty and classical. Great advice, lovely show. 🙂

    Very thorough recap of the journey you go through making this beautiful cardigan. Your information is helpful cos I'm also thinking to make a cardigan with Noro Madara! Thanks for sharing, Mel!

    I like the top two options for buttons (white and pink shell). I think they both match the colors and vibe of the cardigan and aren’t harsh like the darker options. If you want to continue to be colorful, go w the pink shell. If you want to keep the “are there or aren’t there buttons” vibe, go w the white shell.

    I think the pink shell buttons look really nice. It’s more subtle than the darker colours, matches some of the specks in the yarn, but does not get lost as the white shell

    Second from the top definitely

    Hey Mel - I think I prefer the second from top or fourth from top buttons. Nothing too dark. Your cardi looks wonderful - beautiful job. Hope you feel 100 per cent again soon.

    I like the mother-of-pearl buttons, first choice would be the lighter ones but the second button from the right looks good too. I also like the gray, 4-holed buttons, second from the left. I think the black or dark gray ones look too dark. Of course, colors look very different on devices, computers, or tvs, so ultimately you have to choose what you like.

    just stumbled upon your videos. I truly enjoy your content and manner of presentation. I particularly am drawn to how you point out stumbling pts. in patterns and the cost involved with particular projects. Looking fwd to more!

    Love the second button from the top! Do you have any plans for the extra yarn from your cardigan?

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't put any thought into it yet. I struggle when I have just one skein leftover. It will probably sit in my cupboard until the right opportunity comes up.
      Thanks for watching!

    The second from the top I think, but would help to see it with the sweater next to it or under it…. Thanks for sharing

    My vote is for the lightest colored buttons that were on the sweater way over on the right.

    Your cardigan looks lovely. My preference order for buttons, numbering them from the top down: 2, 5, 1, 4. I wouldn’t use the 3rd one down.
    I like Ann Budd’s book for the reasons you described. Very handy.

    The second button down from the top is my choice. IMHO, it complements the yarn better than the other buttons. The darker colors stand out and make the sweater about the buttons instead of about that beautiful yarn. The lighter colors kinda fade out and don’t offer a complimentary contrast. Love your work. 😀

    Buttons- second from the top, the cooler shell. 🙂

    Nobody select the black/gray buttons? The 4th one from the top. That’s my choice. I think some contrast adds a lot to the cardigan. But solid black is way too heavy here.

    I like the pinker mother of pearl buttons. Others are good too but I don’t prefer the heavier dark choice.

    This was such a good and informative video about noro yarn😊 I’d love to try it but it’s not really available where I live in Europe but hopefully I’ll be able to buy some during my trip to Denmark at the end of this summer 🤞🏻

    4th from top button. I am waiting for the Sake colorway and plan to make this cardigan. Thanks for all the info on what you did to find a fit that was best for you. You could teach knitting or maybe pattern design is in your future. 😊

    Oh my- I am in process of the Champagne Cardigan in Noro Madara in Sake. I also frogged my sleeves and made mods on my second try. To decrease at a more rapid rate. I can’t wait to wear it. Your cardigan is lovely! I am choosing a tortoise color button made from horn very similar to the # 4 from the top.

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay! I'm excited for you to have a Sake cardigan too. A tortoise shell button sounds great. I might end up doing more button shopping for more options. I'm just so stuck.
      Thanks for watching!

    I prefer the top buttons, the lighter mother of pearl. But I also love it without the buttons. And it's so nice to hear yarn costs from a fellow Canadian. When Americans talk about yarn costs it makes me want to laugh hysterically and cry at the same time.

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I think I'm going to leave the buttons off until Fall. I'm hoping I'll have a better sense of how I style it because right now I am enjoying no buttons which is something I didn't think I'd like.
      When Americans and Brits say yarn costs I feel the same too! I'm glad I'm not the only one.

    From just the buttons on white I wanted to say the pink shell buttons, but it was a close call for me between those and the green mother of pearl buttons. On the cardigan I think the green mother of pearl buttons look better though, more subtle which means they take less focus away from the beautiful yarn/fabric.

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the idea of the buttons being subtle. I definitely don't want the eye to be too drawn to the buttons. Thanks for the feedback!

    I really like the colors in the Nora Madara. How long does it take you to make a sweater like that. I'm just learning knitting, so just on socks for now

      If I'm not working on any other projects I can finish within a month. When starting out, I recommend not focusing on how quickly you can knit but rather improving techniques, tension and most of all - enjoying the process! Some speed comes later, but honestly, it's something I don't focus on unless I have a deadline. Thanks for watching!

    The second one in from the right..greenish color. I bought this same yarn to make the Champagne cardigan, same color! ❤I can’t wait to see which ones you choose. Feel better soon. Drink green tea with honey!

      Thank you! I'm so over this cold and can't wait to be healthy again. I hope you enjoy knitting with this yarn. I'd totally use it again but at the same time I don't need everything in this colourway haha.

    Just found your channel! How does this yarn feel to wear as a sweater fabric? Thanks!

    • @stringthingsbymel
      @stringthingsbymel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I really enjoy this yarn and the fabric is great too. It's not heavy feeling and has good drape given the gauge I knit. I can wear a sleeveless top underneath and I don't have any irritation.
