Another great video, the information contained helps a great deal. Although it was a bad day for you, it's good to see that i am not alone not catching. Keep the video's coming.
Shame about the session, hopefully you can get some decent bait for next time. If you're struggling to get any in tackle shops you can actually find fresh live worm (both lug and rag) on ebay with next day shipping so worth a look. In better news it looks like the family will be going on holiday to Wales for a little over a week this summer and if there's still availability and things aren't messed up by the pandemic we will be staying right next to (literally camping above the cliff) a really nice spot for fishing. Its a smallish bay with a great rock mark for bass and a mix of some nice structure and clean ground across the rest so I'm very much looking forward to getting some baits out there, I'll probably be spending the whole trip on the beach, weather permitting
That's sounds awesome mate 👍 I hope you get into something decent. You should film your sessions in Wales and stick them on youtube. It would be good to see👍
I love the sheppy rig. I generally only use 4 rigs for all my fishing and the sheppy rig is most definitely one of them. Ive been fishing off grain and the medway of late. Still quite quiet out there. The weather isn't really here or there at the moment. Think that's having an impact.
It’s the worst time of the year unfortunately... that said at least you’re able to go and sit by the sea!!! 10 days to go for me, then it’s targeting plaice, rays and hounds off Easteny!
It is a bad time of year but also I just can't catch a break atm. I go fishing and either the day before or the day after someone hits the session of all sessions where I've been! 🤦♂️
@@gsp happens to all of us! I used (10 years ago) fish hayling, a colleague of mine would be pulling bream out like mad, I’d go and not catch anything but weed!
Thanks for the video. You're not the only person who's had problems with those imps. I've had a couple not release, and someone I know won't use them for that reason. Well, at least you didn't blank. We were supposed to have west/north-westerly winds towards the end of the month, but now it seems they're remaining southerly, so I might give Herne Bay a go around the 27th/28th. I've not fished the north coast of Kent before, so it'll be a new adventure! Enjoy the whiting.
@@gsp - Mornin' Greg, I'm going to give Tankerton a go today - I don't care about the tides, I just need to get out and have a few casts. I'm not even bothered about catching anything! As I'm in the area, is there somewhere you feel might be a bit better? If not, Tankerton it is. Any tips on parking too? Thanks. P.s. As little hill climbing (preferably none! )as possible - I'm a life-long smoker!!
@@journeyintococo6996 I've heard of a few flounders at Tankerton but it is a slope to walk down. I park at marine parade and there is plenty of beach there to fish but not so much if the tide is out. There are also rays showing at herne Bay now (had 1 at the weekend in a quick 2hr session) so that might be worth a go too. Anywhere east of the harbour
I fished the beach huts for the first time and Tuesday between the "street" and the water outlet had a new pb flounder 1lb 10oz and my old mate landed 3 more upto 32cm torn weather to fish there again or a Ray on my doorstep (herne bay) 🤔
Very nice flounder indeed! Congratulations, I'd be happy with that! I fished 2 hrs yesterday at herne Bay and had 1 little Ray and then I've just got back from the swale but not a tremor with 3 rods out!
@@gsp lots of rays showing along here now get a few of them out the way then on to the hounds for me then plaice if ever we can travel again lol happy hunting 🤙🎣
I think the frozen lugg works when theres some competition going on for it , not so good on a hard day. But if you've no choice why not ? Well done for trying , I'd have given it a go , that beach looks well fishy to me.
Don't feather the line if your using impact leads because it will decrease the impact and that could stop the lead from doing its job. Sometimes you can get in a habit of doing it if your regularly fish over muddy grounds to stop the lead being buried in the soft mud.

Many thanks👍 I just hope one day soon I'll be able to offer both information and fish! 😂

There should be plentyy of rays around by then. I'm gonna give it a go on Saturday afternoon, not ideal time but it's all I can fit in atm

Hi Greg u OK mate. Shame about the blank we all have them bro. At least u got out the house. All the best mate from GY.

It does look fishy but not on the days I turn up! 😂
Valiant effort. I vowed to stop using frozen lug last time I blanked. Never again.
I always need and excuse to validate my poor session, so this time it was the bait🤦♂️😂
Do you tip your frozen black with Squid slithers it may help
I tip with squid, mackerel, cockles, you name it I've tried it but I don't get good results on frozen
North Kent naff few thorny odd flounder, winter whitting thats it sheppey little better .
It really is a struggle in this lockdown😩
Even of you don't eat the whiting, they're killer bait for conger in the bristol channel
That's very good to know! As soon as lockdown lifts I will be heading that way for a session or 2
See you there lol 😉
That’s really hard work over there , lots of flounders caught at Swalecliffe
🤦♂️🤦♂️😂 Now that doesn't make me feel any better! 😂😂 I can't catch a break at the moment staying local.

Greg ive had that happen to me quite a few times its frustrating to the least.
Tell me about it🤦
Do you think the weight got in the way of the imp and stopped the water releasing it?

Greg, I've got some frozen lug for sale, how much would you like?! Seriously, fresh out is always better isn't it?
Fresh is 10 times better!
Look on the bright side, you didn't blank!
That's not really a bright side as apposed to a slightly less grey side, 😂
