The gunship won the vote in Feb 2020 - it generally takes Lego approx 2 years (sometimes longer) to develop, test etc a design and there was a little thing called a pandemic in the midst of that? How on earth, would any logical mind, expect there to be a UCS Gunship reveal now? Not only that, but people have given you a thumbs up ! Just blown away dude.
The set is just too pricey for what it is, most likely gonna hold off on this set. Im sure Book of Boba Fett sets will provide ample opportunity to get the Fennec figure.
I find it odd that this cost more than some 2000 piece sets. I mean (don’t judge me in this decision I love halo) I bought the halo mega construx pelican inbound for $100 and it was 3000 pieces this set they released feels like a $80-$100 set. I think it was so expensive because of Fennic.
Instead of the cara dune figure, this shouldve included like Skywalker figure and an additional dark trooper, pushing the minifig count to 7 (if you count grogu) and the darksaber should've had a new mould.
The dark trooper is amazing but I wished it was in a droid body of some sort. IDK how lego would have designed that but they are droids after all, not humans

As somebody who designed an imperial arquitens light cruiser in LDD, I can tell you all for a fact that the only possible interior space is in the front of the model, because the back section and bridge has to be full of technic or other plating to maintain the physical integrity of the ship
More Dark Troopers! A Dark Trooper dropship with a full interior and ramps on the bottom would be awesome! This set is still pretty sweet! I think that I am going to grab at least 2 of these sets and use them as escort ships for larger Imperial vessels. We need more large and massive Imperial ships with full interiors and cool play features! The Mandalorian Starfighter also looks sweet! I am definitely picking up at least one of those sets! Lego also needs more sets with matching minifigure troops for army building!
I find this set a great find because of its size, the interior in the front, and the figures. I already have a mandolorian set (Razor Crest) but I really am impressed with this one to buy it.

I quite agree with you that more play features ought to have been added, including a cell for little Grogu and a hatch to launch the Dark Troopers. Speaking of which, I don't actually like the minifigure for the dark troopers. It uses regular minifigure pieces, and they're not even organic people, they're mindless droids. Lego should have referred to the old minifigure super battle droids, perhaps use the same leg and arm pieces, and remould the torso piece into something resembling an imperial remnant dark trooper. Other than that, I think the more types of star destroyers released by Lego, the cooler and therefore the better. They nearly always make great star destroyer sets, whether they be Republic, Imperial or First Order.
I always wanted a high end cruser ship like this. Unfortunately, it seems most of them have such little space for characters except the mid-2000's ones, but those cost so much now and it's not worth it. Maybe one day Lego will release a large ship that uses 75% of its space to open up and stays under $200
I just bought mine today. I just started building it. Package 1 is 2 packages big. The book is 268 pages. I think I may do some adding on to the under carage.
Yeah, their sets seem to be only for new Lego Fans and Fanboys/ wealthy adults. Think Lego want to test how far they can go with their set prices. The good thing is that we don't have to buy those over expensive sets and can focus more on the better sets.
Battle pack of the dark troopers is highly likely just like the senate commandos battle pack When the republic cruiser came out and had senate commandos
I have a feeling LEGO will make a Dark Trooper battlepack. I mean like in the Rise of Skywalker sets, we got a newer version of Kylo Ren's command shuttle and it comes with one Sith Trooper so chances of getting a Dark Trooper battlepack would be around near the end of 2021.
I feel like sometinv we tend to forget is that this set wull have been very very secretive considering it was technically a spoiler fennec was alive, so this set itself will have been very underwaps, so its no wonder this set doesnt work great with the figures because the dark trooper was also a spoiler idk just my two cents
Long comment below!!😄 I feel that, based on what I saw on screen on this video, the cruiser is kinda lacking things. My point of reference, I think would be the Republic Frigate set (modded and extended by like 7 studs) from, I think early 2010s, which is the only comparable set/build I have. Compared to that, play feature of this set 'feels' poor; while it is nice that the interior space is pretty generous, that being only one room feels quite unfortunate for me, and the way it's set up kinda takes away from the belivability--the frigate had 5 separate interiors: the cockpit, escape pod/rounge, rooms on either side, and the rear turret control. The ship was way off scale and off proportioned, but having these separate rooms with kind of clear distinctive functionalities gave it a tinge of believability to me, where this new cruiser has just one big room beneath the forward main hull. Maybe that's where it challenges my modding skill? Perhaps. Haha But anyway. I find it also a big missed opportunity that they couldn't give it the ventral turrets (those are half of the ship's main guns, come on! lol), which the Republic Frigate has--along with landing gears. Can't fault the designer for this one though, since, I believe, that the ship (Arquitens or the Class 546 cruiser) does not have landing gears unlike the Consular class (Republic Frigates), and the Imperial Star Destroyer playset similarly had a flat bottom with no reactor dome or the hanger openings. Still kinda wish that LEGO designer(s) took some artistic liberty and gave it a set of landing gears to allow for the ventral turrets and maybe some other nice features. Just to avoid giving a wrong impression that it's all nice and stuff with the Republic Frigate, the underbelly of the set is frankly ugly (lol), but it does have those belly turrets and landing gears, at the very least. Can't have everything, I guess. Ahem. Finally (I think), I think maybe it was better that the carrying handle was built separately from the bridge superstructure. It seems to be nicely centered for balancing, but I don't want the bridge of all things to be hidden when I fly the thing. It's also kind of a shame that they couldnt fit a small bridge interior in it (may not have looked too bad, given the small bridge of the predecessor to this ship, Arquitens class). I'm also worried that technique structure being inside there might make it difficult to change the shape and size of the bridge significantly, which I wanted to to since I first saw the picture of this set given how large and tall it seems compared to the real ship. Oh-and I'm sad that the bridge detail are stickers, not prints! 😭 I think, if I'm going to get it, I'll wait for price drop, since it's much more expensive where I live which is outside the US. In that case, I think it's gonna be a huge challenge to mod it though. I hope that the complex arrowhead angles of the hull won't make it too difficult to mod, to extend hopefully, for me. (Hope it won't require too many additional pieces!! lol) All those criticisms aside, I think the ship looks pretty darn cool when seen from certain angles, love the grieveries, and I am pretty excited about the Dark Trooper fig (rest are like bonuses for me, given that my interest in Dark Troopers come mainly from the pre disney expanded universe stuff. lol), though this isnt really a compliment towards the set. Glad you've mentioned the "new cool minifig" formula there. Really hope they'll come in some cheaper set, preferebly a battlepack. Enjoyed the early look at, and review of this set, cheers!
Oh, forgot one thing! I've heard from someone else that the top part of the main hull ie interior roof does not have any locking mechanics; that sucks for when you want to fly the thing upside down! Boo! lol
PSS Oh-forgot another thing. Where are the smaller engines? They didnt call this a Moff Gideon's cruiser, so maybe they can get away with it that way... but come on, even the Venetor had correct number of engines!

I bet they will have to make a battle pack eventually because we need more than one dark trooper and there needs to be a incinerator trooper eventually. I would not mind way more sets based off the show haha, like the imperial juggernaut, the imperial troop lander, Kuiil’s home (because I want a mini fig of him really badly)
Amazing figures. The ship, however, I don’t really think it work well as either a play set or a display model. Too little interior and the exterior is a little too blocky.

This is a must have for me. I can not wait to buy, build and review my own. It is a shame they only included one Dark trooper. They could have left out Cara Dune to have a second Dark Trooper. Cross our fingers Lego makes a Battle Pack of them next year. I wish Fennec Shand had hair :(

If I do get this set, probably the first thing I'll do is remove the spring loaded shooters because those turrets look way to bulky compared to the rest of the ship. Also, does Fennec not come with a hair piece?
I don’t think I’ll get this set, since I’d probably only get it for the figures (primarily Fennic and the Dark Trooper). The only reason why I’d even consider getting it, would be to modify to be a personal ship instead of a cruiser.
I’m overall impressed. I wish we got more Dark troopers. But it’s fine. I can deal with it, but the set has Fennec. I don’t think Fennec has been in any set I’m familiar with, so the set is worth it.

It would be a great addition for my Imperial army, but $160 is too much for the piece count. Lego should have included at least another dark trooper along with an imperial officer and at least more interior space. In short words idk if I should buy it lol.

Ahem. Finally (I think), I think maybe it was better that the carrying handle was built separately from the bridge superstructure. It seems to be nicely centered for balancing, but I don't want the bridge of all things to be hidden when I fly the thing. It's also kind of a shame that they couldnt fit a small bridge interior in it (may not have looked too bad, given the small bridge of the predecessor to this ship, Arquitens class). I'm also worried that technique structure being inside there might make it difficult to change the shape and size of the bridge significantly, which I wanted to to since I first saw the picture of this set given how large and tall it seems compared to the real ship. Oh-and I'm sad that the bridge detail are stickers, not prints! 😭
I think, if I'm going to get it, I'll wait for price drop, since it's much more expensive where I live which is outside the US. In that case, I think it's gonna be a huge challenge to mod it though. I hope that the complex arrowhead angles of the hull won't make it too difficult to mod, to extend hopefully, for me. (Hope it won't require too many additional pieces!! lol)
All those criticisms aside, I think the ship looks pretty darn cool when seen from certain angles, love the grieveries, and I am pretty excited about the Dark Trooper fig (rest are like bonuses for me, given that my interest in Dark Troopers come mainly from the pre disney expanded universe stuff. lol), though this isnt really a compliment towards the set. Glad you've mentioned the "new cool minifig" formula there. Really hope they'll come in some cheaper set, preferebly a battlepack.

Oh, forgot one thing! I've heard from someone else that the top part of the main hull ie interior roof does not have any locking mechanics; that sucks for when you want to fly the thing upside down! Boo! lol

Oh-forgot another thing. Where are the smaller engines? They didnt call this a Moff Gideon's cruiser, so maybe they can get away with it that way... but come on, even the Venetor had correct number of engines!
Not quite what I was hoping for in the set with the pricetag of 160$ but still good enough. Might pick it up on some sales in the future. Thank you for the review!

I bet they will have to make a battle pack eventually because we need more than one dark trooper and there needs to be a incinerator trooper eventually.
I would not mind way more sets based off the show haha, like the imperial juggernaut, the imperial troop lander, Kuiil’s home (because I want a mini fig of him really badly)
Amazing figures. The ship, however, I don’t really think it work well as either a play set or a display model. Too little interior and the exterior is a little too blocky.

This is a must have for me. I can not wait to buy, build and review my own. It is a shame they only included one Dark trooper. They could have left out Cara Dune to have a second Dark Trooper. Cross our fingers Lego makes a Battle Pack of them next year. I wish Fennec Shand had hair :(
For my view point for this kind of empire spaceship there should be four dark troopers and two storm troopers.
They call it the imperial light cruiser not moff Gideon cruiser i have a theory the imperial light cruiser is not gideon but thrawn the last we see a imperial light cruiser we a hanger and we know this light cruiser is big the original is small not hanger thrawn have one with a hanger so gideon was work with thrawn and thrawn work with the chiss Ascendancy maybe the ascendancy try to make they own sith or jedi to protect the chiss because thrawn was a spy in the empire to protect the ascendancy

I think overall it just needed more usable space, comparing it to the first-order star destroyer it has about 1/3 the space at the same price point. But the figs are on point

dude you can see in the background the engines on your Tantive are drooping and the plastic is bending under the weight
might want to find a way to fix that and prop it up / reverse it ASAP

If I do get this set, probably the first thing I'll do is remove the spring loaded shooters because those turrets look way to bulky compared to the rest of the ship.
Also, does Fennec not come with a hair piece?

I don’t think I’ll get this set, since I’d probably only get it for the figures (primarily Fennic and the Dark Trooper). The only reason why I’d even consider getting it, would be to modify to be a personal ship instead of a cruiser.
I’m overall impressed. I wish we got more Dark troopers. But it’s fine. I can deal with it, but the set has Fennec. I don’t think Fennec has been in any set I’m familiar with, so the set is worth it.
It’s great! I really wished they added Luke though. But it’s cool that they put Fennec too!

I don’t love the set but I have fallen in love with that fennec. I am hoping it comes in a smaller set cuz since it’s reveal it has grown to be probably my favorite figure of all time

It would be a great addition for my Imperial army, but $160 is too much for the piece count. Lego should have included at least another dark trooper along with an imperial officer and at least more interior space. In short words idk if I should buy it lol.
I think that 2 battlepacks are : First one with 1 stromtrooper and 3 dark troopers. Second one 4 dark troopers (bad batch)
