He's not actually they huge though, Halo 4 absolutely dropped the ball on scaling. He's only meant to be like a couple inches taller than Palmer yet he's depicted as like a foot and a half taller.
There's still something to be said for the lore/story telling aspect that must be appreciated in the fact that John is fucking massive compared to literally every other human. I feel like they made him really skinny and tall and it kinda took away from the visuals that could have been used to portray Spartan-II's.

John doesn't make any reservations about having a life. He understands that he is more important with his purpose as a weapon than anything else. He only cares about completing the mission and keeping his friends alive. His life was taken from him, he can't get that time back. He CAN however save millions with the gifts that have been given to him. Ending of Halo 3: "Wake me when you need me". He started Halo coming out of Cryo and ended Halo going into Cryo. It was a near masterpiece of an ending.
He was part of a larger program, the rest were killed... The books give better detail about the programs and the events leading up to the first halo game

I wish they would do a remaster of Halo Reach... my most favorite of all the Halo's. I can't explain it... like I actually felt like I was there on Reach when it fell. That's because covenant are so freaking big. Jackals are nearly 7ft themselves, and grunts are the size of short humans (5'6) but are also incredibly thicc for their height. Elites are practically the size of horses if they stood up on two legs, brutes are around 9-11 feet, and hunters... Well yeah hunters are just hunters. They're like 13-14 feet tall. So, in game, you forget that chief is actually an extremely large human, but still nothing compared to the covenant.
Something i've never really thought of about Halo 4's ending is that Chief walks into the main Spartan training area, and they're shocked to see him because he's basically the last Spartan II at that point. I know Blue Team and some others are around at the time but they were doing secretive missions and were not on the infinity a lot or in the public eye. Chief doesn't consider himself a legend, or a hero, he's just a soldier. He completes the mission, and goes home. He's humble, probably much more humbled after Cortana died.
2:54 , This is the part where I literally started to get emotional and actually shed a tear, the journey with chief, hit the feels, and taking that armor off felt mix feelings from the journey from my childhood gameplay to now.

Didnt like the nerf to the binary rifle initially but it grew on me once i learned how great it is as a antivehicle weapon. And i love the splinter grenade.
I know I’ll probably get flak for this but I could truly care less I think once 343 came in and bought Halo they did not do a good job for their first few games but I think Infinite is where they have learned from their errors hopefully lol
I didn't mind how serious they took halo 4, they've all been serious but halo 4 had a damn good campaign for what the game was. One of the most impactful, deep and emotional halo stories. Hope halo infinite does all the halos (excluding 5) justice
The new spartans will never know what it’s like to wear their armor for literally decades without taking it off. Watching Chief take his armor of is a relief just to watch. With that being said though he must be dumb fast without his armor.

The ending cutscenes over exaggerates chief’s height. When you play the story of halo 4 and 5, chief is slightly taller than lock and Palmer. I think he is about 2 inches taller.
Most armor covers vital organs and limbs only. In the halo universe the black suit under the armor is also armor, being a triweave of multiple alloys. The other items like chest plate etc are for extra protection and housing internal software, battery for shields etc.
Came to see this legendary clip again. Imagine....just him walking stopped everyone doing what they were doing lol, he truly was A LEGEND known throughout the universe. And it really put it into perspective how HUGE he was when he passed Palmer LOL

I mean even without his armor he’s still 6’10” and 287 pounds and can sprint in burst of 34 mph and has a reaction speed of 20 milliseconds. Again. With the reputation he has through the Human military AND the entirety of the Covenant, his legend will become immortalized through at least 2 galactic civilizations... Gotta love The Demon.

Shame they didn't make this scene longer before getting to the helmet. I would've loved to see more sweeping shots of the Spartan IV's gathering around as his armor dropped piece by piece. This was a great scene, but could've been made better if it was longer, to really give you the goosebumps and sheer awe the other Spartans were in because of Chief's presence and him having his armor taken off. We got to see so little in this scene, and it could've been made more whole with more shots, slowly sweeping camera shots of the Spartan IV's, shots of Chief when his armor falls, and shots from behind Chief to see the Spartan IV's witnessing what is essentially a once in a lifetime event

Now that I think about it, it’s likely chief hasn’t removed removed that armor since the start of Halo 2. All the none stop fighting from New Mombasa to this point, and he’s been stewing in that suit. I can’t image that relief he must feel at finally being able to peel it off. Or the smell.
When he took off that armor I got that feeling when you take off something you’re wearing like a backpack on a hot summer day and the cool breeze hits your sweaty ass back.
It is worth pointing out that, in this scene, at the end of H4, this is is the first time that Chief had been out of his armor since between CE and H2. This is the first time most people there are seeing him since he saved the galaxy 5 years prior. He was presumed dead for those 5 years, only being discovered alive literally 4 days prior (That's right. H4 takes place over only 4 earth days, somehow). Some of these people might just be finding out Chief is alive for the first time, the classified nature of Spartan information and all.
The Didact should have been this trilogies big bad, but no the geniuses at 343 over egged the pudding by making literally everything other than the campaign of Halo 5 essential to understanding the story of what happened after Halo 4 and as a result they completely destroyed a lot of casual gamers interest in the story they already loved, myself included.
I know the scale is a little off, but I just think its pretty funny. They have to hand use the machines to get his armor off cause he is too big to use the wheels xD. Every other spartan there gets to go for a little ride in and out of their armor. And then there is John "Im to big for this ride" 117.

Something i've never really thought of about Halo 4's ending is that Chief walks into the main Spartan training area, and they're shocked to see him because he's basically the last Spartan II at that point. I know Blue Team and some others are around at the time but they were doing secretive missions and were not on the infinity a lot or in the public eye. Chief doesn't consider himself a legend, or a hero, he's just a soldier. He completes the mission, and goes home. He's humble, probably much more humbled after Cortana died.

2:54 , This is the part where I literally started to get emotional and actually shed a tear, the journey with chief, hit the feels, and taking that armor off felt mix feelings from the journey from my childhood gameplay to now.

I got goosebumps at the forerunner speech at the end. I remember how much I felt the first time I beat Halo 4 and that soundtrack is insanely good.

@@jamesflowers1295 its because no local coop and the trailers said something very different to what was in game. I never saw those trailers till AFTER i finished halo 5 so my experience wasnt jaded. Didnt like the nerf to the binary rifle initially but it grew on me once i learned how great it is as a antivehicle weapon. And i love the splinter grenade.
I know I’ll probably get flak for this but I could truly care less I think once 343 came in and bought Halo they did not do a good job for their first few games but I think Infinite is where they have learned from their errors hopefully lol

I didn't mind how serious they took halo 4, they've all been serious but halo 4 had a damn good campaign for what the game was.

The new spartans will never know what it’s like to wear their armor for literally decades without taking it off. Watching Chief take his armor of is a relief just to watch. With that being said though he must be dumb fast without his armor.

Those soldiers you see are already the cream of the top, surely already taller than the average humans and yet he dwarfs them.
The ending cutscenes over exaggerates chief’s height. When you play the story of halo 4 and 5, chief is slightly taller than lock and Palmer. I think he is about 2 inches taller.

Most armor covers vital organs and limbs only. In the halo universe the black suit under the armor is also armor, being a triweave of multiple alloys. The other items like chest plate etc are for extra protection and housing internal software, battery for shields etc.

So the two reasons i see that people hate halo 5 is 1. No local coop. 2. The trailers showed us something very different from what we got. I never saw the trailers so i didnt go in expecting either chief or locke to die.

Imagine a 7 foot tall 1000 pound manifestation of pure determination and willpower sprinting 60 mph at you. I mean even without his armor he’s still 6’10” and 287 pounds and can sprint in burst of 34 mph and has a reaction speed of 20 milliseconds.

All the sources I’ve seen has put him between 6’7” and 6’10”, I’ve yet to see anything saying he’s 6’5”. Even according to Wikipedia (which derived their source from halo) and the fandom says he’s 6’10” without his armor.

Yeah. I wished I kept growing. People tend to respect you more when you can snap them in half with minimal effort. There was a guy who looked like he could be Brock lesnar's brother with me in the USMC. Despite him being a pvt, everyone, including officers, walked on eggshells around him trying not to piss him off. I, on the other hand, got constantly harassed and mistreated. And I wasn't exactly small either. 6' even, 235lbs with 16% body fat. Still got fu©ked with. Constantly.

Shame they didn't make this scene longer before getting to the helmet. I would've loved to see more sweeping shots of the Spartan IV's gathering around as his armor dropped piece by piece. This was a great scene, but could've been made better if it was longer, to really give you the goosebumps and sheer awe the other Spartans were in because of Chief's presence and him having his armor taken off. We got to see so little in this scene, and it could've been made more whole with more shots, slowly sweeping camera shots of the Spartan IV's, shots of Chief when his armor falls, and shots from behind Chief to see the Spartan IV's witnessing what is essentially a once in a lifetime event

It is worth pointing out that, in this scene, at the end of H4, this is is the first time that Chief had been out of his armor since between CE and H2. This is the first time most people there are seeing him since he saved the galaxy 5 years prior. He was presumed dead for those 5 years, only being discovered alive literally 4 days prior (That's right. H4 takes place over only 4 earth days, somehow). Some of these people might just be finding out Chief is alive for the first time, the classified nature of Spartan information and all.
They were lifting up the other spartans into that rack thing, Cheif just stood in front of the machine and made them do it manually.

The Didact should have been this trilogies big bad, but no the geniuses at 343 over egged the pudding by making literally everything other than the campaign of Halo 5 essential to understanding the story of what happened after Halo 4 and as a result they completely destroyed a lot of casual gamers interest in the story they already loved, myself included.
Also thank the fans who bitched about halo 4. 343 can't do anything without them crying about everything so 343 changes things.
