DMC 6, starring Dante, Vergil and Nero in the search to solve the issues of Dante’s crippling debt and rampant pizza addiction, boom, plot line right there, but in all fairness, it is an interesting question, can five really be topped, who knows 🤔
I think they can top last game so easily. There is no need to change gameplay(maybe new skills for nero but imo there is no need for a change when it comes to dante and vergil) they can just make a good storyline with an actual cinematography and boom. A better dmc game.
I mean... Many people forget that Mundus isn't dead. I don't think Dante and Vergil would return as playable characters or main characters, maybe dlc idk, but there is still a lot of Potential in the Plotline. I can imagine Devil May Cry 6 evolving around Nero and Mundus. And it'd make sense in a Story Perspective. Dante and Vergil are pretty ripped with their Sin Devil Trigger form. I mean, Dante managed to defeat Prime Urizen low-mid difficulty with his powerup. And Mundus used the Quliphot Fruit in order to become King of the Underworld. Which would put Prime Urizen right below Prime Mundus. (Because I think due to his age and experience Mundus is still stronger than Urizen.) And with Dante AND Vergil teaming up towards a common goal, it would be pretty anti-climactic story wise if the Sons of Sparda double team against Mundus. Nero, on the other hand, still has ways to go. And would be a good choice for character development. And he is not as broken against Mundus. So it'll be a tough nut to crack. And since Dante and Vergil are gone, Nero is pretty much forced to break his limits. Because he doesn't have Dante saving him last second anymore. But I can see where your thoughts come. But that's my take on a DMC 6. But I get the thought that you shouldn't milk a franchise. Here in Germany we have a saying for that: It's better to end it at its best moment. (Translated obv.)
Bringing Mundus out for a 3rd (4th if you count the reboot) time seems like a bad idea, specially when Dante solo'd a stronger version of the guy while laughing at its face.
In a similar vein to Resident Evil 0, a game based on Sparda and his exploits prior to meeting Eva would be interesting. It would fill in some details of his relationship with Mundus and his generals as well as potentially flesh out Argosax and his army. Sparda has deep untapped potential but I could understand wanting to keep most of his story a mystery.
Exploring sparda whereabouts is a double edge sword. In the hands of a competent writer it could be interesting on the otherhand part of the allure of sparda is that we have heard many things about him but never seen him. If we give too much info about sparda it could potentially ruin character. Another thing that they could is kill off mundus once and for all, since he is not dead just sealed away in hell.
I STILL want a game where we can play as Sparda so we can actually see what happens when one combines the Yamato, Rebellion, and the Devil Sword Sparda

I may be wrong here idk but I'm pretty sure Dante and Vergil aren't really stuck in the Demon world considering Vergil can open up portals with Yamato, they're just staying there to minimize demonic threats while having Nero as a last line of defense
Yeah. Yamato literally has the power to unseal and seal the demon world. The problem is that if Vergil unseals the demon world to return to earth some demons will creep through the cracks without him knowing.

Yamato works more like a key, Vergil and Dante would still need to find some kind of “door” between the demon world and the human one to come back, using Yamato as a kind of key. But yeah they theoretically can get out and probably will at some point but they just need to find an exit, and I’m sure they would prefer one that doesn’t leave a massive hole between worlds for demons to jump through.
I can absolutely imagine some very fed up demons going to Nero and begging him to PLEASE get his father and uncle out of hell because they're wrecking shit.
I think if they made a DMC 6 it could be interesting to have it focus as a prequel taking place before Sparda met Eva. Like where you play as him trying to close all of the entrances to the Demon Realm. That could make for some interesting backstory on Sparda and what happened back then.

Gotta ask Nero's VA one day to do one of Nero's lines in a British accent. Hopefully I get to see him at a comic con one day for that.
I've always thought that an hypotetical DMC6 would see Mundus coming back for the last time and Nero, Dante and Vergil having to finally kill him instead of sealing him like it happened in DMC1 and before that. I also think that Sparda should make an apparition, since it's never officially stated (as far as I know, could be wrong) that he's confirmed dead. Would be a cool way to wrap up the whole story for one grand finale since I don't really think there's gonna be more DMC games after a sixth one. We also know Itsuno (DMC's director since DMC2 excluding DmC) is near retiring or at least he may have alluded at that in some DMC5 interviews if I remember correctly so that's that, and DMC without Itsuno wouldn't feel like DMC at least in my opinion. After 6 maybe I could see some remakes but then again I can understand why people are tired of remakes, even though I'd kill for a DMC1 or DMC3 Remake with the new RE Engine.

There's always room for a Sparda prequel since his story really wasn't explored in depth. It might have a chance to ruin his story though cause leaving his "legend" up to your own imagination is kinda what makes him special.
Naah Bruh imagination and that's it? Sparda holding his Devil Sword and Rebillion and Yamato at the same time and we want to see what his personality is like and might as well add Dante and Vergil childhood as well and his wife Eva and how he saved humanity and how Fortuna start to worship him
I honestly rather have a remake of the first trilogy since they have aged pretty well, if 2 ever got a remake it would be the biggest comeback in history, that game just needs to change completely from scratch😭

An interesting idea for dmc 6 would be angels getting involved, after all the devil's have done, the angels get sick of their crop and try to kill them.
Narratively, I think the story of the Sons of Sparda is pretty much over since the directions their arcs could go from here isn't that exciting from a gameplay perspective. DMC should do what Dante did, pass on the torch to Nero and have story arcs revolving around him. Sidenote: Nero isn't the only Devil Hunter now that Dante's gone. Lady and Trish are still around. Back to my point: I'd like to see Nero and his family play a more prominent role. Nero and Kyrie have been stated to have adopted three kids (it's even possible Dante knows about them in 5) and it might be interesting to see Nero in a fatherly role given his background. Maybe they want to be Devil Hunters like their dad and he'd be worried they won't be able to handle the job since they're not part demon. There's also the fact that Vergil is still using Yamato through Nero's arm. I doubt he can separate them since it's still Nero's power. If they bring that back, I'm tempted to see what Nico can use that arm for given Nero regrown it already. Hear me out: Nero, with Nico's assistance, splits the power in the original Devil Bringer into three Devil Arms like his grandfather once did and passes them on to his kids.
I'm seeing imagery similar to the 3 musketeers or ninja turtles stuff now since they'd be given specialized demonic weapons as their power. Makes sense though, since the Sparda bloodline is known for creating weapons out of demons or making taking their abilities. I wonder would they play as 3 separate characters or could their style switching just be them calling out their sibling and they'd stylishly switch like a ninja turtle would. Just spit balling here cuz I don't know what to do either

Nero's issues don't come from being part demon, it came from him being abandoned. his dislike of the Devil Bringer could also be attributed to being a member of the Order which shouldn't be an issue. he's also personally experienced having that sort of thing hidden from him by Dante. alright theory and all but tbh, kind of generic and doesn't really make sense.
@IIISixStringIII Eh, Nero not mentioning a pregnancy isn't as unlikely as the kids being related to him by blood. It could be recent, with Nero's plans to tell the gang being thrown out the window by him losing his arm and that coma he was in. Not showing Kyrie isn't that surprising given how Trish and Lady don't have much screen-time here either.
Neros arm is completely gone. The Sole purpose of that arm was to harness Yamato. After his arm was ripped off it disappeared leaving only Yamato there which is why Nero got a new arm and access to his actual devil powers. That arm was just a pseudo version of his devil abilities. The Yamato ain't going back to Nero unless Vergil dies.
The Sons Of Sparda tale is over. As much as I would like to see Dante and Virgil again, I have to be realistic. Now, I’m going to address the elephant in the room and say: CAPCOM FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE A SPIN OFF GAME ABOUT SPARDA!
I feel like one thing that should be done is a prequel with Sparda as the lead. Also as for where they can take the story Mundus still exists, hes still alive he ain't dead contrary to popular belief. The three descendants of Sparda teaming up to take down Mundus who would have to be powered up in some way but hey.
I love this one, an adventure hack n' slash where Sparda was situated like 2000 years ago to fight some demons Legendary Dark Knight Style. It would make for a great game honestly
I was hoping that the absence of Lucia in any way meant that Dante might have an unknown or hidden kid that starts looking for their dad only to find Nero who has grown into his devil hunter status fully, making him like a big brother figure. Would keep the OP sons of Sparda from immediately returning, a time skip could flesh out some Nero development with his new devil breaker upgrades, and a new character/playstyle would be both fun additions and justification for the character needing to get stronger or struggling against lesser demons. Extra fun if Lady & Trish get involved as mentor figures. I would personally like it if Dante had a daughter too, but I t that's mostly cause we have yet to see a female descendant of the Sparda bloodline and I think it'd be a bit funny if Mundus makes a return and encounters Dante’s daughter, not his son. Lucia would also make the kid the inverse of Nero since she is a demon, making the kid 1/3 human. Extra points if he had twins of one gender each.
The daughter of Dante and the son of Vergil would be an interesting twist on the series, and I feel it'd be fun to see the writers take them in a different direction from their parents. Nero is extremely honest with himself and his emotions which I could see being both a blessing and a curse depending on the other person involved.

Throw in some witty dialogue with Dante or Vergil ie: "Vergil, you sure you didn't have another kid?" "No, but at least my nephew is an improvement on the original." and don't get too overdramatic with the plot twist and bam fun plot.

The main idea is dante's kid got manipulative by mundus. But after dante kid killed vergil and dante. Nero able to enlighten dante's kid. End result both kids receive their father power to kill mundus. Mundus killed and the legacy continue by the new generation.
@@EmonicVampire Honestly considering the power scaling, I don't see how that's possible in a way that wouldn't upset everyone. Either the siblings sacrifice themselves, or they die in some cataclysmic event. Dante + Vergil are damn near unkillable together, it would be weird to have a third party suddenly be stronger than them, with Nero already setting a precedent for the power of one of the sibling's kids. At this point it's in question whether Mundus could defeat both. Vergil is working together with Dante, with the power granted by the Qliphoth fruit, shown to be at his prime. Dante has accepted Sparda's legacy and is on par with Vergil. Both are at their strongest and have had a literal eternity to challenge each other and grow from that. Besides, most fans adore Dante and Vergil, and finding a way to kill them instead of simply retiring them is a writer's worst nightmare.
We should have in this order: DMC 0 Following Sparda's story right before meeting Eva, maybe even explaining why he left to get milk and never came back. DmC 2 For those that like that saga. DMC 6 Following Nero with a new villain, and trying to make him more charismatic and shit. DMC 7: The Final Showdown or some good looking ass name that explains what happens when Mundus come back, this time with a powerup of sorts and the whole Sparda family unites to finally kill him, with Sparda dying and Dante and Vergil sacrificing for Nero.
Although the sparda twins saga is pretty much over, I still think a story can be told with Nero, Dante, and Vergil as the main leads. Mundus did say that he'll return to rule the world at the end of 1, so having DMC6 be the true end to the series with mundus as the final antagonist would be nice. But after that I think DMC7 or whatever else could be a fresh begining with a new cast. There's also the possibility of spin off games, there's a lot of really cool material like the Manga and Novels that haven't been covered much by any of the games. I personally would love to see a Vergil Prequel game that focuses on his trip to fortuna and his relationship with Nero's mother. If all else fails, you can never go wrong with remakes of the older games (specifically 3).
No, that will not work cause first of all, Dante, Vergil & Nero at this point are at a level of power where Mundus will be completely fodderized by them. What is the point of bringing back Mundus if he will end up getting killed in one hit by either one of them? In the DMC 2 novel, Dante fights an alternate universe version of Mundus who at bare minimum was twice as powerful as the Mundus in DMC1 and Dante kills him in one hit in his base form, no Devil Trigger, no Sparda sword, just with his Rebellion in his human form. And don't try to say the DMC2 novel isn't canon, you have no standing to back that up. Second, the only way for Mundus (& Argosax) returning to make sense is if Dante dies. Technically Mundus is dead but if Dante dies, then Mundus will come back. When Sparda defeated Mundus, he flat out said that he killed Mundus but when Mundus came back in DMC1 & 3 (More specifically when Dante & Vergil were kids) it would have to be because Sparda died. So Mundus should never come back unless Dante dies.
Mundus was not killed by sparda and sparda didn't died he just disappeared without a trace Also dante didn't kill mundus in 1 he fled through a wormhole leading to another univers and yes dante killed alternate mundus and it is cannon since dmc4 takes place when he returns with the devil arm lucifer and in an interview they said it was cannon Most likely it will be a gold freeze situation with mundus as his returned form and most likely he'd be preparing for his speculation of Dantes power but only to meet nero since the alternate mundus didn't live the same life or had the experience of this mundus he will be ready and maybe found another way to get stronger but I don't think dante and vergil should be in it unless somehow he enslaved them took their power and added it to his own and you play as nero trying to save both of them and defeat mundus and at the end of the game you have a father son bonding experience with a battle
I have spent many nights wondering what the future of this franchise would look like, and I wholeheartedly agree that this should be the end of Dante and Vergil's stories from a primary narrative focus. I thought of everything from a multiplayer, create your own devil hunter experience set in a world of various factions, each inspired by past characters and organizations. And a series following Trish, Lucia, and to a lesser extent Nero as the new main characters. There's a lot of story that could still be told while leaving the story of the sons of Sparda untouched while paying respect to them.
I mean Vergil did say he would meet Nero and fight him again next time and we might see Nero's first newborn baby or at least his first child, I mean at the end of Dmc5 Dante and Vergil were having fun like a holiday for both of them and trusting Nero to handle things until they get back tho
A son of Mundus could be an interesting character. Someone who has lived in the shadow of his fathers atrocities and wants to prove he’s his own person.

Dmc6: demons are still showing up so nero has to figure out why its happening. Did virgil and dante fail? He has virgils book and he has to go into the underworld to see what happened. Thus opening a portal both ways. Virgil was trapped in the underworld but was able to come back to get his sword, so there are other ways to come through.
I think DMC6 should be the last one in the main franchise as a way to finally wrap up Mundas and maybe show the dynamic between Vergil and Dante working together throughout the game
Nero going on a rescue mission for his uncle and father would be a great thing especially with more emphasis on lady and Trish in gameplay wise as we didn’t see them in dmc5
Well a Dante and Vergil game about escaping the demon world would be cool. I also think they should make Dante and Vergil earn there powers again through some plot point
an entire game about Demon world would be fresh start cause there's demons coming to the human world like it's their neighborhood like we have the Temi-ni-gru from Dmc1 and Qilphoth from Dmc5 and Hell gates from Dmc4 and Demonic Island in Dmc1
A Vergil game where the vestiages of Sparda where left behind after 5. Basically when Sparda died, The Qlipoth Tree right before it's death. Thought to itself, "What could protect me from this danger?" It thought of the one demon that was the strongest in history and it used the last of it's strength to revive Sparda. But Sparda being too late and too weak to help save the tree as Vergil cut it down. Sparda now back alive but virtually powerless wonders the demon world. You play as Sparda at first But he uses seals as combat to stop demons and even take power from them to power himself up. He eventually finds a way back to the human world where he finds his home. Where he realizes what happened as the people from the neighborhood explained that years ago the entire family got lost within a blaze. And that rumors say that demons came that night. This enraged Sparda. As he went back to the demon world finding Mundus's Seal. Realizing immediately when seeing it that it wasn't the one he had sealed him in. Mundus actually laughs and revere's that Sparda is back, even sending the new found darkness within him. Asking if his old "General" was back to save him. Sparda does release him. But having no pitty for the Demon emperor for what he did to his family. Absorbs the demon within his own body giving Sparda a massive power up. When he does this Sparda, realizes that he can sense his son's being alive feeling their weapons. And he starts to see all of Mundus memories. Where he sees what Dante & Vergil had down through DMC3, Pinnacle Of Combat, and DMC1 before Mundus got sealed. Sparda believing Vergil had died as Nelo Angelo was saddened telling his son, "Sorry." But realizing that Dante was still alive. Went to go find his son. That is the end of the, "prologue" mission. Mission 1 you play with Vergil fighting against Dante in hell where they have been fighting for a couple years now. Vergil beats Dante definitively. But Vergil could tell Dante didn't have his heart into it anymore. When Vergil asks, "What is wrong?"Dante explains that he was "bored" and was ready to get back to the human universe. Vergil explains that it wasn't, "That simple." As he explained to Dante before that he could make a portal but both Dante and Vergil were too strong. And making a portal would require him to leave it open for demons to come through. But demons would come through and eventually they would both have to come back to seal it again. If they were weaker demons of course both of them could leave using a smaller portal for one time use but them being so powerful now made it virtually impossible to do so without making a much larger portal that constantly stayed open. Dante already knew the details and said "Yeah, Yeah." While waving Vergil away. Vergil then suggested that they can do what weaker demons do. Astral projecting themselves into bodies and possessing objects. Like they did a few years back into Nico's Van. Dante started ranting, "Last time we did that, I didn't sleep for a week!" (Explaining why they were in Nico's Van in the DMC5 menu screen). Vergil responds, "Your just mad because you couldn't taste the pizza they ordered." Dante says, "What's the point of having Pizza if you can't even taste it?" Vergil responds, "You imbecile, you were an object, you weren't actually their! How were you expecting to tas-" Vergil gets cut off as the ground starts rumbling. Neither him nor Dante are me surprised when a bunch of Demons burst from the ground. "I'm finally free." A Demon made of pure white Light starts to talk. "I can finally become ruler of the Demon wor-" When Dante just shoots it with his ebony. Vergil stares at Dante, Dante says "What? Listen now you don't have to worry about someone fighting you over that useless crown." Vergil pulls out his blade and points to the area where he shot the being of white light, "You dullard he is not dead." The being solits into a bunch Beowulf demons but much smaller than the original. Before eventually fusing back into being. And reforming the King of pure light "Beowulf". Dante and Vergil have dialogue with the king mocking him before starting the mission. You start with Dante this time and they teach you Dante's new mechanic where he uses two different weapons at the same time. You start off with DSD and Lucifer. And then using Ivory and his Shotgun. It's Dante's new mechanic wherr at the start of the mission you can use singular weapons or weapon combinations during combos by switching to his Gunslinger or Swordmaster style. You fight King Beowulf as Dante but as you get his health down to 25% Dante and Vergil gets grabbed from underground by something and oulled under. King Beowulf Laughs. The next mission you play with Dante or Vergil. This time you can play this mission Co-Op by inviting a friend to do it with you. The missions starts off with them fighting together fighting many lesser demons, before both of them split off and go their own way. Dante promising he was going to find and kill beowulf first this time before Vergil did. Vergil smirking while relaying, "As if." If you play with Dante the cavern he choose takes him further and further down the cave. If you choose Vergil he goes higher and higher. Before eventually Dante running into what dragged him in here. It was the current king of Fire Hell. That being another Phantom but this one transformed into a lava woman being a beautiful spider woman. Dante being very inticed by her presence. She being the queen and her husband being Beowulf. Teleporting everywhere rubbing on all kinds of Dante's body. Phantom actually wanting Dante hearing about his legend and actually wanting to use him to kill her husband. Dante then stopping right before they kiss. saying he doesn't want to be a "Home Reckor." Before shooting her she gets angry and you fight her. Before eventually killing her. But instead of getting a new weapon from her soul she leaps into Dante's body. Dante then gets much younger. Looking like DMC3 self. He even starts to talk like him and turns back into his more wacky self. Before shooting a bullet realizing now all his bullets have extra lava damage that he can charge them with. That explodes enemies full of baby lava spiderdemons after he shoots them with it. Dante takes off his DMC5 Shirt and has nothing on but his DMC5 JACKET and shirtless under neath it all. Dante says, "This party getting CRAZY! ...Man I feel 30 years younger saying that." I'll explain what happens to Vergil in the next part but yeah I have a whole thing for the NEXT DMC.
But at least once in my life I’d love to see dante and vergil together meeting sparda and maybe their mother. Let’s not forget that Sparda is now a grandfather. We don’t know who is Nero’s mother yet.
I think there could be some great story with finally a majority of the game in the demon world. I mean, we didn't explore it much yet, and there could be so many cool locations made.
I do wish for a 6th entry for DMC, but I will be content without having it, but I would love for it to have a double sided perspective as you play as Dante, Nero and Vergil in the campaign
Dmc6 plot: Nero and Kyrie adopt a young boy, as the boy gets older Nero can see he has a talent for fighting but also notices that there's a darkness inside that he can't control. One night the boy can't get to sleep and notices a strange make on his forehead, it starts glowing and then a blueish purple aura begins to seround his body and he begins to panic. At mission 18 we find out that he is the son of Mundus and now Nero has to raise him to be a good person and to control his powers
If there would be a DMC6, I would personally love to play a storyline of Sparda. And after about 15 missions that features him, then we can have a 5 mission after story of how mundus rose once again and get kicked in the ass by Dante and Vergil.
I had a theory awhile back. In the lore Dante made his way back to earth because a random portal showed up out of no where. I was thinking it could be a sign that a remnant of Sparda did that, because he sensed Vergil regained his physical form after he nearly perished in Dmc1. That was his way of saying help your brother in whatever way you can.... probably not sure what to do after the remnant part but someone with a great idea can think of it.

So Sparda's remnant was probably saying, "Hey, son! you better head back quick! Help out your nephew aka my grandson, from a creepy old priest who will try to take away his girlfriend and spoil my name! And after that, I need you to cool down your brother's head once again before he grows an apple tree to achieve godly powers! I'm counting on you boy!"
@@pazer_by I think it makes a lot of sense that Sparda would have an ethereal form, because Vergil was stuck in it for years, and it's speculated that Mundus is too. Sparda's original plan could've been: A). To resurrect over many years to put a stop to Mundus once and for all. B). Resurrect if Dante and Vergil couldn't beat him. C). He somehow never lost consciousness after his death and had been trying to build up DT energy to gain an ethereal form, then a physical one. But each time he had enough power he noticed Dante was still around and had been using lots of energy that could've been used on a body, to instead helping him from the sidelines. (Dante always thought it was dumb luck things somehow went well, but it was his father's guidance to a small degree depending how much power he can use while staying conscious

It would be like; father senses that his son is misbehaving BIGTIME and nearly killing his grandson. So Sparda immediately rushes to the scene to save his grandson and now he's got some scolding to do. After that, I don't really know. Maybe he might take the Yamato and somehow combine V and Urizen back into Vergil for some scolding?(The Yamato was originally his, you know.) Or it would be better if it was not Nero but Sparda that jumped right between SDT Dante and SDT Vergil right after mission 19. Sparda did his best to help out his younger son stop his older brother, but in the end he came to realize that the best way possible was doing things by himself.

That's how i would do it: Time lapse years later, the main character is a half-demon created by a lab and employed as mercenary for a shady corporation, he only knows his duty to the corporation however horrible it is. During conception of the character you either choose red genes to play like Dante or blue genes to play like Vergil, in addition with a variety of fire weapons. During a mission, you eventually come across a mysterious devil hunter with a devil arm (my, who could that be), there is mutual defiance but also curiosity for each other, the encounter would play the same way as when Nero and Dante first met and would evolve over time as he first spank you, second got the better of you by using his devil trigger then a final battle where you can stall him. Your aim is to hunt him down but it happens the company you work for is in fact run by a returning Mundus. You set aside your differences with the Devil hunter to team up with in order to beat the arch demon. Then you become the devil hunter partner in crime as he accepts you despite being a stranger of the family but sharing the same blood and heart, the main character do the same as the devil hunter is a "estrange relative" that can nonetheless introduce him to a new purpose and the tradition of the Devil May Cry agency.
I think DMC6 could Go Four ways. 1)We find out there’s another descendant of sparda one way or another (Dante son/Nero Brother/Sparda illegitimate son/Possibly a sparda relative we weren’t told about’s son) since in dmc5 ti Kinda feels Like at The end Dante is passing on the torch to nero and the next generation in general. 2) Vergil and Dante find their father trapped in hell, mundus captured him when they attacked him and his family and has been torturing him since, so they free him and take down mundus for good 3) A prequel which shows us the events that brought sparda to defend humanity and possibly his comrades/relatives who fought with him 4)Capcom goes in the most unexpected way ever and none of our predictions were right.
I'd argue that we ended one saga, so either one of two things happen: the story ends there (not what I want at all) or we do a full new saga. It's weird to think that one demon knight was able to beat THE DEMON EMPEROR. Makes you wonder how many other random super powerful demons are just lounging about or locked up or something. Just because Mundus was deemed the strongest didn't make him the strongest even in the opening lore of the first game. The netherworld is infinite, there's gotta be a baddy or two that can take on the Sparda bois.
Devil may cry remake , with the same love as the resident evil remakes leading to a new story , kind of the same way resident evil made the remakes leading to 7 and then leading up to village. I think it would be a cool direction for dmc as long as we collectively agree to forget about that one reboot we already have 👀
For me nothing beats the end of DMC 5 vergil saying " dont say it" and Dante response "Jackpot" But they could do like a remake of old games for long time DMC fans and other story lines imagine a game where you play as sparda in his fight against hell and mundus
Honestly theres still plenty left unknown about Nero same with Lady and Trish. We know quite a lot about the twins already. Theres still the aspect that Mundus is still alive. Honestly this would be the perfect time to bring him back because it'd give Nero and the girls the time they need in the spotlight and we'd possibly get more info on who Nero's mother is and more info on his background.
Or they'd do something like "Mundus was inside Trish this entire time" Watching them through the story and using Trish as a respawn beacon. (I don't want this route because it's a little on the nose, but I can see it.)
Take a risk and create new villains. It's precisely this type of decision that gave us a fully fleshed out Vergil in DMC3 as opposed to the demon knight with Dante's brothers face in DMC1. Give Nero and new potential devil hunters a new challenge to test their strength and let the sons of sparda finally rest.
honestly what I hope for dmc 6 is it takes the best aspects of all the other dmc games ideally I would want dmc 6 to have -the gameplay of dmc 5 but improved and innovated -the art direction of dmc 4 -storytelling of dmc 3 -dante design of dmc 2 -atmosphere of dmc 1 especially that last one I seriously don't get why devil hasn't had a dark gritty atmosphere since the 1st game
Personally I think we should have at least 4 different spin offs before DMC 6: - A game focused exclusively on Nero. A story abotu Nero protecting the human world from a threat that he has to deal with alone since he can´t rely on Dante on this one. I think he really needs it. - A game for Lady, Trish and even Lucia. The infamous Ladies Night if you will. Morisson foreshadowed a job for at least the first 2 girls, so something with them would be cool. - A game with both Dante and Vergil exploring hell together. Come on. This would literally be the DMC version of the divine comedy. We could have missions for Dante, some for Vergil and Co-op missions with both of them. - A prequell for Sparda. I know that part of what makes him badass is the mistery behind him, but honestly? Fuck that. Show me what he did to stop the demon world from overtaking the human world and what exactly made him change. All of this games could them conect to each other for a possible DMC 6 then via hints here and there, and have everyone (minus maybe Sparda) to reunite to fight against a new threat
I think they shoukd definetly make a 6. But maybe focus on some new characters that Nero finds in his new adventures while Dante and vergil are stuck in hell(also not playable) and just go from there, man this game can go infinite as long as gameplay and cinematics are top notch as they always were. My take on it is a continuous process of growth for all three. And I’ll take some aspects from god of war but with a bit of their own because wholeheartedly I’ll love to explore the father son relationship between Nero and Vergil and Dante slowly helping Vergil grow as a human and be intune with his humanity. Understanding that power doesn’t come from his demon form but it comes from your humanity in that aspect. And we get a family based thing where they save one of the grandkids from the evil of themselves/Mundus to give it all a full circle to properly retire Vergil/ Dante to say Ayee they grow together as brothers caring for one another rather hurting and battling each other. Nero character will shed more light and the lessons of it continues flourish. You can even bring back dmc 2 characters as well as lady and Trish to finish loose tides there to where Dante has a reason to retire which is him finally finding a woman in his life. Which he’ll be gone for good but he can always be a camo for guidance same as Vergil with him giving Nero the reigns and telling the grandkids don’t end up like me. and the rest of the gang like Morrison can say Ayee I got paid and Nero can protect people from mundus in whatever years he decides to come back
I have 3 ideas for another dmc game (some of these might've been said already, i did not see the comments) 1. Mundus isnt dead, and while dante and vergil are in the demon realm, mundus could maybe find a way to slip past. We can get some good character growth for nero and because dante and vergil have their sin devil trigger they are really powerful. You could then also make a dlc about vergil and dante like in dmc 4 (?) Where you played as vergil who fell down into hell after his battle with dante. 2. Ee could make a prequel about sparda beforw he met eva. This could allow us to explore many different weapons like the guns lumos and ombra, the yamato or sword sparda at their full potential. 3. This is kindof a copy of the first one but the beginning level is about dante and vergil getting put of hell but losing their capabilities like sin devil trigger by mundus, where all of them then team up to kill him
Well, DMC5 is the end of the Sons of Sparda Saga, not the series, I think DMC6 onward should be made as long as it remembers that it's not going to focus on Dante or Vergil anymore, if they even appear at all. Having a story where Nero and possibly the kids he has adopted become devil hunters for a climax against Mundus in the next few games to come seems like a great place to go towards
No, that will not work cause first of all, Dante, Vergil & Nero at this point are at a level of power where Mundus will be completely fodderized by them. What is the point of bringing back Mundus if he will end up getting killed in one hit by either one of them? In the DMC 2 novel, Dante fights an alternate universe version of Mundus who at bare minimum was twice as powerful as the Mundus in DMC1 and Dante kills him in one hit in his base form, no Devil Trigger, no Sparda sword, just with his Rebellion in his human form. And don't try to say the DMC2 novel isn't canon, you have no standing to back that up. Second, the only way for Mundus (& Argosax) returning to make sense is if Dante dies. Technically Mundus is dead but if Dante dies, then Mundus will come back. When Sparda defeated Mundus, he flat out said that he killed Mundus but when Mundus came back in DMC1 & 3 (More specifically when Dante & Vergil were kids) it would have to be because Sparda died. So Mundus should never come back unless Dante dies.
Still feel that DMC 6 should happen, Nero’s potential is just beginning to expand and it’d be awesome to see him grow up to be as strong as his father and Uncle. With the success of DMC V and after Dragon’s dogma 2 finishing up soon, I do hope they explore it
Maybe a prequel following Sparda, he would play like a fusion of all three DMC Leads and have a unique role. What was it exactly that Made Him turn on Mundus. So far in lore, we only know of Sparda's overwhelming strength through legends. This game would show the true strength of a Pure demon tempered by compassion. It will end with showing how the Legendary Dark Knight fell. His Weapons include; Sparda, Sword, Scythe, and Spear modes treated as separate weapons, Rebellion/Yamato, wielded like Force Edge/Yamato+Independant moveset. Sparda could go most of the game with a crossbow for a ranged attack making Luce and Umbra an endgame unlock. Sparda's standard DT would just be him lightly tapping into demonic power, giving him armor shaped like his true form, Replacing SDT would be true proper DT which would allow Sparda to enter a state similar to Dante's SDT, with his own form of Judgement, Based on the title crawl animations for DMC1. Other playable characters would include Modeus and Baul from the anime
You could also follow Nero, could bring back Sparda, there is other threats that aren’t dead yet. You could even follow Nero trying to find a way to rescue Dante and Vergil. On that journey he discovers another threat
I wouldn't mind a lady and trish spin-off, but you do make valid points. The gameplay for me was a bit hard to grip was pause combos, direction based attacks and several layers within every weapon and character. Any more depth personally would alienate newcomers IMO. There are some potential plot points for other games, but I think ending on 5 is satisfying enough.
This question might be the reason why the devs have made the DMC Reboot it's own continuity instead of a reboot. Just so they can try a different story with a similar setting and vibe, while still leaving a perfect conclusion to the OG Devil May Cry. Now will this new DMC timeline be any good? That's yet to be said.
Maybe DMC6 can be playing as a flashback of Vergil to see what happened to him after he got defeated as Nelo angelo and how the order of the sword recovered Yamato
Some people have pointed out and I will share as well, as this was a discussion I had with my friend a couple of days ago, because he's playing the Vergil DLC. We both agreed that if they were to do a DMC6 that it will have Nero has the main focus of the game (as the DMC5 was clearly a passing of the torch to Nero) and the story will be in conjunction with Dante and Vergil (both as a playable characters of your choising and the other controlled by an AI. Using the same formula they did switching between characters in DMC5) in hell as this is a place we have not yet explored. Mundus has returned as it were and the family need to finish their debt with the demon king. This could also be used to discover more about Sparta (as I am of the opinion he is imprisoned not dead), the war with Mundus (as they did touch on that a little bit in DMC 5) and the legacy of their family going back further rather than just the legacy of Dante and Vergil as it was in DMC5. In saying that, the story doesnt have to say too much and give everything about Sparta, but just a little more information to say why Sparta was so powerful and decided to betray Mundus (I know it was for their mother, but I am talkimg more about the conflicting nature Sparta would have had on choosing between demons or the humans). For Nero's part, can still be about Mundus as well and Trish would be more involved this time around. (I would like Trish and Lady to be more involved in the DMC series as they were in 1 and 3 if not more. I feel they've been sidelined and DMC 5 is proof of that). While it might not need a DMC6 game, if they were, Mundus should be the boss to officially officially end Vergil and Dante's journey as it would come full circle for those who started on DMC1 and solely focus on Nero from then on. Just my opinion.

DMC5 was the final game we needed to fully transition Nero's character growth. Im a huge Dante fan. I think you're right their wouldn't be any point in a DMC 6 It would be nice to have but wouldn't work and would make people who are extremely loyal to the series upset if the story reason behind a 6th main installment was something really stupid
should there be the 6? yes, but it should have been another name entirely since DMC has and always been associate with Dante. i know that the torch as been pass to Nero and Nero kit can still be pushed even more with his devil breaker given that there is no directional move for any of the breaker(lock-on + direction + breaker input). so in the new entry i would love to see him being the main character and explore DMC world/universe more than character driven as oppose to the first 5 games. let's say there is a cult in Patty's home town and she can't really deal with it all by herself despite being a magician(iirc it was mentioned that Patty is a descendants of a witch family cmiiw), so she went out and try to contract Dante, but Morrison refer her to Nero, Trish and Lady. they try to uncover the cult objective and learns that the cult has been trying to resurrect Mundus(according to the novel Dante killed mundus, this is the comment i saw on the internet if anyone can confirm please do) and shenanigans happens DMC style. that could have been a start for a new entry in the franchise with nero as protag
I don't think that the core gameplay mechanics really need that much of an overhaul if a spin-off is on the table. DMC4SE showed off the amazing foundations of what Lady and Trish's combat could look like in a more robust setting, and Lucia's gameplay from 2, while needing an overhaul, could resemble something like Dante's own gameplay, but more acrobatic focused. Further, DMC5's own gameplay showed that other fighting/combat styles could easily work in the game, since V himself was pretty much proof of concept of doing something very different with the formula. If anything, the next DMC would just have to get a bit more creative on what they could do, and perhaps start off by looking at their back catalogue of action games over the years and see if any of those gameplay styles could get "DMCed". Or, they could also look towards head-to-head fighting games and check out other combat styles that haven't been explored yet. Also, despite Nero coming to his own, he still has room to grow as a character. He's learned his lessons, sure, but now it's time for him to reach for the mantle of Legendary Devil Hunter, like his dear ol' uncle, and perhaps shut down a returning Mundus? The Demon King was promised a remach with Dante's "son" after all. All I'm saying is that there are a LOT of directions the series could take, and it's be a waste to just let the foundations that DMC5 have set just go to waste.
I share your opinion as huge fan of DMC. However DMC universe can be used for deferent type of game. For example, Elden ring like, open world RPG revolving around being a daemon hunter. In terms of story "Dante and Vergil could "vanish" like their father Sparda did Demon world could be merged with Human world an surviving humans could reorganize civilization and resistance and elite Demon hunter "Devil May Cry academy" founded by old man and the legend Nero with Trish and Lady can be a starting point for player ( character creation and customization).
I think Devil May Cry 6 should be released soon for PS5 and Xbox Series X in the future and the last Devil May Cry game of the series because I want to know what will happen to Vergil and Dante and hopefully return to the human world and reunite with Nero, Nico, Lady, Kyrie, Morrison and Trish. Maybe more flashbacks should appear like featuring Sparda himself in his human form etc. Therefore new characters should appear like Patty, Nina, Sid, Nell Goldstein and maybe Enzo Ferino. New enemies like bosses too. But who was Nero's mother?
I think the one way it could go on is to settle both vergil and dante down. As it stands they are fighting in the demon world for fun but that isnt a place where one would see them in a few years down the line. Furthermore mundus still exists, since he only got sealed and not killed. I feel like the way it could go is have a story with dante and vergil as lead and everyone else especialy nero as side characters to not drag away fokus. Nero would still play a part to further build his relationship with vergil, but he shouldnt get a main part since it would get messy. At the end of the story dante and vergil should settle down for good, not die just settle. Dante should get over his depression and maybe start a family of his own and vergil should have a gold relationship with nero.
It's a perfect ending, but I would love another anime or book or something. Maybe Nero has a daughter named Eva? Vergil and Dante reignite their bond while in the underworld and become closer than ever, but still keep their sibling rivalry. Maybe Dante and Vergil find a way to give a message to Nero from the underworld, and Vergil gets some development as a father and says something like, "I'm proud of you Nero" maybe he talks about his mother a little bit, and we get some insight about Nero's DT.
I was thinking about this yesterday and I started checking off primary antagonists in my head here’s the thing: Argosax ( the main villain from dmc 2 I’m sure I didn’t spell it correctly😅) and Mundus used to kind of co-rule the demon world together until Mundus ate the tree fruit giving him the edge he needed against Argosax Vergil’s done the exact same thing and we see the results either Dante or Vergil individually could beat Mundus by themselves at this point Together? They’d squash him so I don’t see that happening. Also while Dante and Vergil are still “rivals” they’ve both recovered a very important sense of family between them so Vergil isn’t exactly an antagonist anymore so he’s out. Argosax is legitimately dead thanks to Dante so he’s out. Arkham is dead thanks to Lady so he’s out. Mundus is the only one that isn’t “dead” IF a 6th entry into the series is up next devs COULD try and spin it like: Mundus was just biding his time waiting for Dante and Vergil to leave or something like that maybe Mundus finally returns with a devil sword of his own to challenge/defeat Nero and Nero HAS TO fight Mundus all by himself!?😮🤔

i'd honestly just love some more stuff about Sparda and where he is. If he were to come back and be playable, that would be awesome. Grandpa and Grandson adventure looking for Dante and Vergil who are stuck in hell, that'd be cool. And Mundus still exists. While my memory of DMC2 is foggy, if Argosax is still around and Dante didn't outright kill him, it'd be interesting to see maybe the pair team up or even fuse into one massive very powerful demon. this is all just ideas though
Yes I think there needs to be a dmc 6 cuz one thing I found very curious is that neros girl is pregnant her voice was only introduced in the game but she was never in the game so because of that I think she is pregnant and I think it would be really interesting to see Neros kids being introduced into the game as well as Dante's daughter or son
I truly believe that a 6 is possible. Mundus come back stronger and a plot line around that would be a nice way to expand nero a bit more as well as tie up dante and vergil completely because 6 should involve sparda and backstory in it relevant to the story of the plot. I dont see them doing 7 8 9 10 etc. That'd be dumb and very dragged out tbh. But one last plotline to bring the entire story full circle back to sparda vs mundus and the devil bringer being fully fleshed out for nero would be good to see. But after 6 stop no more games. That's my opinion.
This remind me of the Shin Megami Tensei series. It had the Persona series as a spinoff and worked so well that many people don't even know the first one exist, and the mechanics of both are similar but not the same at all (the first one is far more difficult). They could make a 6th game of DMC with Nero as the sole MC, maybe with the premise of getting out Dante and Vergil from the Underworld as a final note to the saga.

In short terms: yes. In broadened terms, we need a few things. -local/online co-op for the cameo system in narrative and Bloody Palace -broadened character roster; Nero, Dante, Vergil, Lucia, Trish and Lady, plus new characters -open character selection for all narrative missions
If Resident Evil can have several iterations with focuses on different characters, there's no reason DMC cant do the same. A DMC6 with Nero coming into his own with his newly discovered powers along with some potential new devil hunters and gameplay styles has potential. And leave Dante and Vergil either as secret unlockables or Special Edition content. Dante is where Devil May Cry started. But that doesnt mean Devil May Cry has to be restricted to the existence of a single character. This isnt Super Mario Brothers
We don’t know if there are angels and a heaven. Yeah there are angel like demons but what if there are actual angles that decide to go to the human world to punish Virgil for growing the tree and then mistake Nero for his dad. If you go in that direction then there’s a whole new world to explore and you could even bring in Dante and Virgil to help fight enemies that they didn’t even know existed. Plus with world building we could see how people on earth reacted to demons since it wasn’t wildly known that they even existed outside of cities similar to Nero’s hometown
Ngl... I'd like if 6 was a prequel like how 3 was, but we get the entirety of Sparda's backstory. Maybe even seeing the origins of the Temi-Nigru, etc. If that does happen, I'd *LOVE* how a Beowulf boss fight would be like.
They should give us a new story, maybe a new demon comes to the human world and makes a new demon/human hybrid and that gives us our own new devil hunter
When dmc5 first came out, I downloaded the free trial and beat it one night. I feel I agree with what you’ve said, devil may cry could end here and I’d be happy with it. I was introduced to this series from my childhood with 3 and from playing the entire series (with it’s obvious downsides) I feel 5 has ended off on a fantastic note. If they were to do something more I definitely agree it should probably be a spinoff or something other than a mainline title. It would be interesting to see what they would do for a new mainline title though although it’s difficult to imagine where they could go with a new story.

I think they can top last game so easily. There is no need to change gameplay(maybe new skills for nero but imo there is no need for a change when it comes to dante and vergil) they can just make a good storyline with an actual cinematography and boom. A better dmc game.
I really want to see Nero and Vergil team up. Tons of story potential right there.
DMC6: family intervention.
I mean... Many people forget that Mundus isn't dead. I don't think Dante and Vergil would return as playable characters or main characters, maybe dlc idk, but there is still a lot of Potential in the Plotline. I can imagine Devil May Cry 6 evolving around Nero and Mundus. And it'd make sense in a Story Perspective. Dante and Vergil are pretty ripped with their Sin Devil Trigger form. I mean, Dante managed to defeat Prime Urizen low-mid difficulty with his powerup. And Mundus used the Quliphot Fruit in order to become King of the Underworld. Which would put Prime Urizen right below Prime Mundus. (Because I think due to his age and experience Mundus is still stronger than Urizen.) And with Dante AND Vergil teaming up towards a common goal, it would be pretty anti-climactic story wise if the Sons of Sparda double team against Mundus. Nero, on the other hand, still has ways to go. And would be a good choice for character development. And he is not as broken against Mundus. So it'll be a tough nut to crack. And since Dante and Vergil are gone, Nero is pretty much forced to break his limits. Because he doesn't have Dante saving him last second anymore. But I can see where your thoughts come. But that's my take on a DMC 6. But I get the thought that you shouldn't milk a franchise. Here in Germany we have a saying for that: It's better to end it at its best moment. (Translated obv.)
I like that idea for a story, I could totally see it working and wrapping everything together tying back to game 1.
Bringing Mundus out for a 3rd (4th if you count the reboot) time seems like a bad idea, specially when Dante solo'd a stronger version of the guy while laughing at its face.

In a similar vein to Resident Evil 0, a game based on Sparda and his exploits prior to meeting Eva would be interesting. It would fill in some details of his relationship with Mundus and his generals as well as potentially flesh out Argosax and his army. Sparda has deep untapped potential but I could understand wanting to keep most of his story a mystery.

Of course! There’s still many mysteries to be explored in universe. Mostly to do with Sparda and what happened to him.
Exploring sparda whereabouts is a double edge sword. In the hands of a competent writer it could be interesting on the otherhand part of the allure of sparda is that we have heard many things about him but never seen him. If we give too much info about sparda it could potentially ruin character.
Another thing that they could is kill off mundus once and for all, since he is not dead just sealed away in hell.

I may be wrong here idk but I'm pretty sure Dante and Vergil aren't really stuck in the Demon world considering Vergil can open up portals with Yamato, they're just staying there to minimize demonic threats while having Nero as a last line of defense
Yeah. Yamato literally has the power to unseal and seal the demon world. The problem is that if Vergil unseals the demon world to return to earth some demons will creep through the cracks without him knowing.

Yamato works more like a key, Vergil and Dante would still need to find some kind of “door” between the demon world and the human one to come back, using Yamato as a kind of key. But yeah they theoretically can get out and probably will at some point but they just need to find an exit, and I’m sure they would prefer one that doesn’t leave a massive hole between worlds for demons to jump through.
I can absolutely imagine some very fed up demons going to Nero and begging him to PLEASE get his father and uncle out of hell because they're wrecking shit.
More like Mundus finding out both Sparda's sons are in hell, and a story from there -- and Nero finding a way to get both back

I think if they made a DMC 6 it could be interesting to have it focus as a prequel taking place before Sparda met Eva. Like where you play as him trying to close all of the entrances to the Demon Realm. That could make for some interesting backstory on Sparda and what happened back then.

I've always thought that an hypotetical DMC6 would see Mundus coming back for the last time and Nero, Dante and Vergil having to finally kill him instead of sealing him like it happened in DMC1 and before that. I also think that Sparda should make an apparition, since it's never officially stated (as far as I know, could be wrong) that he's confirmed dead. Would be a cool way to wrap up the whole story for one grand finale since I don't really think there's gonna be more DMC games after a sixth one. We also know Itsuno (DMC's director since DMC2 excluding DmC) is near retiring or at least he may have alluded at that in some DMC5 interviews if I remember correctly so that's that, and DMC without Itsuno wouldn't feel like DMC at least in my opinion. After 6 maybe I could see some remakes but then again I can understand why people are tired of remakes, even though I'd kill for a DMC1 or DMC3 Remake with the new RE Engine.

There's always room for a Sparda prequel since his story really wasn't explored in depth. It might have a chance to ruin his story though cause leaving his "legend" up to your own imagination is kinda what makes him special.

An interesting idea for dmc 6 would be angels getting involved, after all the devil's have done, the angels get sick of their crop and try to kill them.

Narratively, I think the story of the Sons of Sparda is pretty much over since the directions their arcs could go from here isn't that exciting from a gameplay perspective. DMC should do what Dante did, pass on the torch to Nero and have story arcs revolving around him.
Sidenote: Nero isn't the only Devil Hunter now that Dante's gone. Lady and Trish are still around.
Back to my point:
I'd like to see Nero and his family play a more prominent role. Nero and Kyrie have been stated to have adopted three kids (it's even possible Dante knows about them in 5) and it might be interesting to see Nero in a fatherly role given his background. Maybe they want to be Devil Hunters like their dad and he'd be worried they won't be able to handle the job since they're not part demon.
There's also the fact that Vergil is still using Yamato through Nero's arm. I doubt he can separate them since it's still Nero's power. If they bring that back, I'm tempted to see what Nico can use that arm for given Nero regrown it already.
Hear me out: Nero, with Nico's assistance, splits the power in the original Devil Bringer into three Devil Arms like his grandfather once did and passes them on to his kids.
I'm seeing imagery similar to the 3 musketeers or ninja turtles stuff now since they'd be given specialized demonic weapons as their power. Makes sense though, since the Sparda bloodline is known for creating weapons out of demons or making taking their abilities.
I wonder would they play as 3 separate characters or could their style switching just be them calling out their sibling and they'd stylishly switch like a ninja turtle would.

Nero's issues don't come from being part demon, it came from him being abandoned. his dislike of the Devil Bringer could also be attributed to being a member of the Order which shouldn't be an issue. he's also personally experienced having that sort of thing hidden from him by Dante.

Not showing Kyrie isn't that surprising given how Trish and Lady don't have much screen-time here either.
Neros arm is completely gone. The Sole purpose of that arm was to harness Yamato. After his arm was ripped off it disappeared leaving only Yamato there which is why Nero got a new arm and access to his actual devil powers. That arm was just a pseudo version of his devil abilities. The Yamato ain't going back to Nero unless Vergil dies.
The Sons Of Sparda tale is over. As much as I would like to see Dante and Virgil again, I have to be realistic. Now, I’m going to address the elephant in the room and say: CAPCOM FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE A SPIN OFF GAME ABOUT SPARDA!
I feel like one thing that should be done is a prequel with Sparda as the lead. Also as for where they can take the story Mundus still exists, hes still alive he ain't dead contrary to popular belief. The three descendants of Sparda teaming up to take down Mundus who would have to be powered up in some way but hey.
I love this one, an adventure hack n' slash where Sparda was situated like 2000 years ago to fight some demons Legendary Dark Knight Style. It would make for a great game honestly
I wanna follow Vergils backstory more, I want to see how he met neros mom and how that worked out.

What about Dante and Nero’s dad what happened to Sparta? Nero’s mom? What is Nero’s devil trigger?
I was hoping that the absence of Lucia in any way meant that Dante might have an unknown or hidden kid that starts looking for their dad only to find Nero who has grown into his devil hunter status fully, making him like a big brother figure. Would keep the OP sons of Sparda from immediately returning, a time skip could flesh out some Nero development with his new devil breaker upgrades, and a new character/playstyle would be both fun additions and justification for the character needing to get stronger or struggling against lesser demons. Extra fun if Lady & Trish get involved as mentor figures. I would personally like it if Dante had a daughter too, but I t that's mostly cause we have yet to see a female descendant of the Sparda bloodline and I think it'd be a bit funny if Mundus makes a return and encounters Dante’s daughter, not his son. Lucia would also make the kid the inverse of Nero since she is a demon, making the kid 1/3 human.
Extra points if he had twins of one gender each.
The daughter of Dante and the son of Vergil would be an interesting twist on the series, and I feel it'd be fun to see the writers take them in a different direction from their parents. Nero is extremely honest with himself and his emotions which I could see being both a blessing and a curse depending on the other person involved.

Throw in some witty dialogue with Dante or Vergil ie: "Vergil, you sure you didn't have another kid?" The main idea is dante's kid got manipulative by mundus. But after dante kid killed vergil and dante. Nero able to enlighten dante's kid. End result both kids receive their father power to kill mundus. Mundus killed and the legacy continue by the new generation.
@@EmonicVampire Honestly considering the power scaling, I don't see how that's possible in a way that wouldn't upset everyone. Either the siblings sacrifice themselves, or they die in some cataclysmic event. Dante + Vergil are damn near unkillable together, it would be weird to have a third party suddenly be stronger than them, with Nero already setting a precedent for the power of one of the sibling's kids. At this point it's in question whether Mundus could defeat both. Vergil is working together with Dante, with the power granted by the Qliphoth fruit, shown to be at his prime. Dante has accepted Sparda's legacy and is on par with Vergil. Both are at their strongest and have had a literal eternity to challenge each other and grow from that. Besides, most fans adore Dante and Vergil, and finding a way to kill them instead of simply retiring them is a writer's worst nightmare.

We should have in this order:
DMC 0 Following Sparda's story right before meeting Eva, maybe even explaining why he left to get milk and never came back.
DmC 2 For those that like that saga.
DMC 6 Following Nero with a new villain, and trying to make him more charismatic and shit.
DMC 7: The Final Showdown or some good looking ass name that explains what happens when Mundus come back, this time with a powerup of sorts and the whole Sparda family unites to finally kill him, with Sparda dying and Dante and Vergil sacrificing for Nero.
Although the sparda twins saga is pretty much over, I still think a story can be told with Nero, Dante, and Vergil as the main leads. Mundus did say that he'll return to rule the world at the end of 1, so having DMC6 be the true end to the series with mundus as the final antagonist would be nice. But after that I think DMC7 or whatever else could be a fresh begining with a new cast. There's also the possibility of spin off games, there's a lot of really cool material like the Manga and Novels that haven't been covered much by any of the games. I personally would love to see a Vergil Prequel game that focuses on his trip to fortuna and his relationship with Nero's mother. If all else fails, you can never go wrong with remakes of the older games (specifically 3).
No, that will not work cause first of all, Dante, Vergil & Nero at this point are at a level of power where Mundus will be completely fodderized by them. What is the point of bringing back Mundus if he will end up getting killed in one hit by either one of them? In the DMC 2 novel, Dante fights an alternate universe version of Mundus who at bare minimum was twice as powerful as the Mundus in DMC1 and Dante kills him in one hit in his base form, no Devil Trigger, no Sparda sword, just with his Rebellion in his human form. And don't try to say the DMC2 novel isn't canon, you have no standing to back that up.
Second, the only way for Mundus (& Argosax) returning to make sense is if Dante dies. Technically Mundus is dead but if Dante dies, then Mundus will come back. When Sparda defeated Mundus, he flat out said that he killed Mundus but when Mundus came back in DMC1 & 3 (More specifically when Dante & Vergil were kids) it would have to be because Sparda died. So Mundus should never come back unless Dante dies.

Also dante didn't kill mundus in 1 he fled through a wormhole leading to another univers and yes dante killed alternate mundus and it is cannon since dmc4 takes place when he returns with the devil arm lucifer and in an interview they said it was cannon
Most likely it will be a gold freeze situation with mundus as his returned form and most likely he'd be preparing for his speculation of Dantes power but only to meet nero since the alternate mundus didn't live the same life or had the experience of this mundus he will be ready and maybe found another way to get stronger but I don't think dante and vergil should be in it unless somehow he enslaved them took their power and added it to his own and you play as nero trying to save both of them and defeat mundus and at the end of the game you have a father son bonding experience with a battle
I have spent many nights wondering what the future of this franchise would look like, and I wholeheartedly agree that this should be the end of Dante and Vergil's stories from a primary narrative focus.
I thought of everything from a multiplayer, create your own devil hunter experience set in a world of various factions, each inspired by past characters and organizations.
And a series following Trish, Lucia, and to a lesser extent Nero as the new main characters.
There's a lot of story that could still be told while leaving the story of the sons of Sparda untouched while paying respect to them.
I mean Vergil did say he would meet Nero and fight him again next time and we might see Nero's first newborn baby or at least his first child, I mean at the end of Dmc5 Dante and Vergil were having fun like a holiday for both of them and trusting Nero to handle things until they get back tho

A son of Mundus could be an interesting character. Someone who has lived in the shadow of his fathers atrocities and wants to prove he’s his own person.

There’s nothing saying Mundus can only have one son. Actually maybe Burial could become a devil arms for this hypothetical brother.
Dmc6: demons are still showing up so nero has to figure out why its happening. Did virgil and dante fail? He has virgils book and he has to go into the underworld to see what happened. Thus opening a portal both ways. Virgil was trapped in the underworld but was able to come back to get his sword, so there are other ways to come through.
I think DMC6 should be the last one in the main franchise as a way to finally wrap up Mundas and maybe show the dynamic between Vergil and Dante working together throughout the game
Nero going on a rescue mission for his uncle and father would be a great thing especially with more emphasis on lady and Trish in gameplay wise as we didn’t see them in dmc5

A Vergil game where the vestiages of Sparda where left behind after 5.
Basically when Sparda died, The Qlipoth Tree right before it's death. Thought to itself, "What could protect me from this danger?" It thought of the one demon that was the strongest in history and it used the last of it's strength to revive Sparda. But Sparda being too late and too weak to help save the tree as Vergil cut it down. Sparda now back alive but virtually powerless wonders the demon world. You play as Sparda at first But he uses seals as combat to stop demons and even take power from them to power himself up. He eventually finds a way back to the human world where he finds his home. Where he realizes what happened as the people from the neighborhood explained that years ago the entire family got lost within a blaze. And that rumors say that demons came that night. This enraged Sparda. As he went back to the demon world finding Mundus's Seal. Realizing immediately when seeing it that it wasn't the one he had sealed him in. Mundus actually laughs and revere's that Sparda is back, even sending the new found darkness within him. Asking if his old "General" was back to save him. Sparda does release him. But having no pitty for the Demon emperor for what he did to his family. Absorbs the demon within his own body giving Sparda a massive power up. When he does this Sparda, realizes that he can sense his son's being alive feeling their weapons. And he starts to see all of Mundus memories. Where he sees what Dante & Vergil had down through DMC3, Pinnacle Of Combat, and DMC1 before Mundus got sealed. Sparda believing Vergil had died as Nelo Angelo was saddened telling his son, "Sorry." But realizing that Dante was still alive. Went to go find his son. That is the end of the, "prologue" mission.
Mission 1 you play with Vergil fighting against Dante in hell where they have been fighting for a couple years now. Vergil beats Dante definitively. But Vergil could tell Dante didn't have his heart into it anymore. When Vergil asks, "What is wrong?"Dante explains that he was "bored" and was ready to get back to the human universe. Vergil explains that it wasn't, "That simple." As he explained to Dante before that he could make a portal but both Dante and Vergil were too strong. And making a portal would require him to leave it open for demons to come through. But demons would come through and eventually they would both have to come back to seal it again. If they were weaker demons of course both of them could leave using a smaller portal for one time use but them being so powerful now made it virtually impossible to do so without making a much larger portal that constantly stayed open. Dante already knew the details and said "Yeah, Yeah." While waving Vergil away. Vergil then suggested that they can do what weaker demons do. Astral projecting themselves into bodies and possessing objects. Like they did a few years back into Nico's Van. Dante started ranting, "Last time we did that, I didn't sleep for a week!" (Explaining why they were in Nico's Van in the DMC5 menu screen). Vergil responds, "Your just mad because you couldn't taste the pizza they ordered." Dante says, "What's the point of having Pizza if you can't even taste it?" Vergil responds, "You imbecile, you were an object, you weren't actually their! How were you expecting to tas-" Vergil gets cut off as the ground starts rumbling. Neither him nor Dante are me surprised when a bunch of Demons burst from the ground. "I'm finally free." A Demon made of pure white Light starts to talk. "I can finally become ruler of the Demon wor-" When Dante just shoots it with his ebony. Vergil stares at Dante, Dante says "What? Listen now you don't have to worry about someone fighting you over that useless crown." Vergil pulls out his blade and points to the area where he shot the being of white light, "You dullard he is not dead." The being solits into a bunch Beowulf demons but much smaller than the original. Before eventually fusing back into being. And reforming the King of pure light "Beowulf". Dante and Vergil have dialogue with the king mocking him before starting the mission. You start with Dante this time and they teach you Dante's new mechanic where he uses two different weapons at the same time. You start off with DSD and Lucifer. And then using Ivory and his Shotgun. It's Dante's new mechanic wherr at the start of the mission you can use singular weapons or weapon combinations during combos by switching to his Gunslinger or Swordmaster style. You fight King Beowulf as Dante but as you get his health down to 25% Dante and Vergil gets grabbed from underground by something and oulled under. King Beowulf Laughs. The next mission you play with Dante or Vergil. This time you can play this mission Co-Op by inviting a friend to do it with you. The missions starts off with them fighting together fighting many lesser demons, before both of them split off and go their own way. Dante promising he was going to find and kill beowulf first this time before Vergil did. Vergil smirking while relaying, "As if." If you play with Dante the cavern he choose takes him further and further down the cave. If you choose Vergil he goes higher and higher. Before eventually Dante running into what dragged him in here. It was the current king of Fire Hell. That being another Phantom but this one transformed into a lava woman being a beautiful spider woman. Dante being very inticed by her presence. She being the queen and her husband being Beowulf. Teleporting everywhere rubbing on all kinds of Dante's body. Phantom actually wanting Dante hearing about his legend and actually wanting to use him to kill her husband. Dante then stopping right before they kiss. saying he doesn't want to be a "Home Reckor." Before shooting her she gets angry and you fight her. Before eventually killing her. But instead of getting a new weapon from her soul she leaps into Dante's body. Dante then gets much younger. Looking like DMC3 self. He even starts to talk like him and turns back into his more wacky self. Before shooting a bullet realizing now all his bullets have extra lava damage that he can charge them with. That explodes enemies full of baby lava spiderdemons after he shoots them with it. Dante takes off his DMC5 Shirt and has nothing on but his DMC5 JACKET and shirtless under neath it all. Dante says, "This party getting CRAZY! ...Man I feel 30 years younger saying that."
I'll explain what happens to Vergil in the next part but yeah I have a whole thing for the NEXT DMC.

But at least once in my life I’d love to see dante and vergil together meeting sparda and maybe their mother. Let’s not forget that Sparda is now a grandfather. We don’t know who is Nero’s mother yet.
I think there could be some great story with finally a majority of the game in the demon world. I mean, we didn't explore it much yet, and there could be so many cool locations made.
I do wish for a 6th entry for DMC, but I will be content without having it, but I would love for it to have a double sided perspective as you play as Dante, Nero and Vergil in the campaign
Dmc6 plot: Nero and Kyrie adopt a young boy, as the boy gets older Nero can see he has a talent for fighting but also notices that there's a darkness inside that he can't control. One night the boy can't get to sleep and notices a strange make on his forehead, it starts glowing and then a blueish purple aura begins to seround his body and he begins to panic. At mission 18 we find out that he is the son of Mundus and now Nero has to raise him to be a good person and to control his powers
If there would be a DMC6, I would personally love to play a storyline of Sparda. And after about 15 missions that features him, then we can have a 5 mission after story of how mundus rose once again and get kicked in the ass by Dante and Vergil.
I had a theory awhile back. In the lore Dante made his way back to earth because a random portal showed up out of no where. I was thinking it could be a sign that a remnant of Sparda did that, because he sensed Vergil regained his physical form after he nearly perished in Dmc1.
That was his way of saying help your brother in whatever way you can.... probably not sure what to do after the remnant part but someone with a great idea can think of it.

So Sparda's remnant was probably saying, "Hey, son! you better head back quick! Help out your nephew aka my grandson, from a creepy old priest who will try to take away his girlfriend and spoil my name! And after that, I need you to cool down your brother's head once again before he grows an apple tree to achieve godly powers! I'm counting on you boy!"
@@pazer_by I think it makes a lot of sense that Sparda would have an ethereal form, because Vergil was stuck in it for years, and it's speculated that Mundus is too. Sparda's original plan could've been:
A). To resurrect over many years to put a stop to Mundus once and for all.
B). Resurrect if Dante and Vergil couldn't beat him.
C). He somehow never lost consciousness after his death and had been trying to build up DT energy to gain an ethereal form, then a physical one. But each time he had enough power he noticed Dante was still around and had been using lots of energy that could've been used on a body, to instead helping him from the sidelines.
(Dante always thought it was dumb luck things somehow went well, but it was his father's guidance to a small degree depending how much power he can use while staying conscious
@@trustworthyh3ro267 Man, it would have been so much bangers in the other direction if it was resurrected+transcended Sparda instead of SDT Dante that jumped right between Nero and Urizen just in time before Nero got squeezed into death. It would be like; father senses that his son is misbehaving BIGTIME and nearly killing his grandson. So Sparda immediately rushes to the scene to save his grandson and now he's got some scolding to do. After that, I don't really know. Maybe he might take the Yamato and somehow combine V and Urizen back into Vergil for some scolding?(The Yamato was originally his, you know.)
Or it would be better if it was not Nero but Sparda that jumped right between SDT Dante and SDT Vergil right after mission 19. Sparda did his best to help out his younger son stop his older brother, but in the end he came to realize that the best way possible was doing things by himself.

That's how i would do it:
Time lapse years later, the main character is a half-demon created by a lab and employed as mercenary for a shady corporation, he only knows his duty to the corporation however horrible it is. During conception of the character you either choose red genes to play like Dante or blue genes to play like Vergil, in addition with a variety of fire weapons. During a mission, you eventually come across a mysterious devil hunter with a devil arm (my, who could that be), there is mutual defiance but also curiosity for each other, the encounter would play the same way as when Nero and Dante first met and would evolve over time as he first spank you, second got the better of you by using his devil trigger then a final battle where you can stall him. Your aim is to hunt him down but it happens the company you work for is in fact run by a returning Mundus. You set aside your differences with the Devil hunter to team up with in order to beat the arch demon. Then you become the devil hunter partner in crime as he accepts you despite being a stranger of the family but sharing the same blood and heart, the main character do the same as the devil hunter is a "estrange relative" that can nonetheless introduce him to a new purpose and the tradition of the Devil May Cry agency.
Ironically, I thought of the same thing, but as a spinoff.
I think DMC6 could Go Four ways.
1)We find out there’s another descendant of sparda one way or another (Dante son/Nero Brother/Sparda illegitimate son/Possibly a sparda relative we weren’t told about’s son) since in dmc5 ti Kinda feels Like at The end Dante is passing on the torch to nero and the next generation in general.
2) Vergil and Dante find their father trapped in hell, mundus captured him when they attacked him and his family and has been torturing him since, so they free him and take down mundus for good
3) A prequel which shows us the events that brought sparda to defend humanity and possibly his comrades/relatives who fought with him
4)Capcom goes in the most unexpected way ever and none of our predictions were right.
I'd argue that we ended one saga, so either one of two things happen: the story ends there (not what I want at all) or we do a full new saga.
It's weird to think that one demon knight was able to beat THE DEMON EMPEROR. Makes you wonder how many other random super powerful demons are just lounging about or locked up or something. Just because Mundus was deemed the strongest didn't make him the strongest even in the opening lore of the first game.
The netherworld is infinite, there's gotta be a baddy or two that can take on the Sparda bois.

Devil may cry remake , with the same love as the resident evil remakes leading to a new story , kind of the same way resident evil made the remakes leading to 7 and then leading up to village. I think it would be a cool direction for dmc as long as we collectively agree to forget about that one reboot we already have 👀

Honestly theres still plenty left unknown about Nero same with Lady and Trish. We know quite a lot about the twins already. Theres still the aspect that Mundus is still alive. Honestly this would be the perfect time to bring him back because it'd give Nero and the girls the time they need in the spotlight and we'd possibly get more info on who Nero's mother is and more info on his background.
I feel like with sixth entry they'll resurrect Sparda as the villain because what else is there left to do?

It's precisely this type of decision that gave us a fully fleshed out Vergil in DMC3 as opposed to the demon knight with Dante's brothers face in DMC1. Give Nero and new potential devil hunters a new challenge to test their strength and let the sons of sparda finally rest.

honestly what I hope for dmc 6 is it takes the best aspects of all the other dmc games

-the gameplay of dmc 5 but improved and innovated
-the art direction of dmc 4
-storytelling of dmc 3
-dante design of dmc 2
-atmosphere of dmc 1
especially that last one I seriously don't get why devil hasn't had a dark gritty atmosphere since the 1st game
Personally I think we should have at least 4 different spin offs before DMC 6:
- A game focused exclusively on Nero. A story abotu Nero protecting the human world from a threat that he has to deal with alone since he can´t rely on Dante on this one. I think he really needs it.
- A game for Lady, Trish and even Lucia. The infamous Ladies Night if you will. Morisson foreshadowed a job for at least the first 2 girls, so something with them would be cool.
- A game with both Dante and Vergil exploring hell together. Come on. This would literally be the DMC version of the divine comedy. We could have missions for Dante, some for Vergil and Co-op missions with both of them.
- A prequell for Sparda. I know that part of what makes him badass is the mistery behind him, but honestly? Fuck that. Show me what he did to stop the demon world from overtaking the human world and what exactly made him change.
All of this games could them conect to each other for a possible DMC 6 then via hints here and there, and have everyone (minus maybe Sparda) to reunite to fight against a new threat

But maybe focus on some new characters that Nero finds in his new adventures while Dante and vergil are stuck in hell(also not playable) and just go from there, man this game can go infinite as long as gameplay and cinematics are top notch as they always were. My take on it is a continuous process of growth for all three. And I’ll take some aspects from god of war but with a bit of their own because wholeheartedly I’ll love to explore the father son relationship between Nero and Vergil and Dante slowly helping Vergil grow as a human and be intune with his humanity. Understanding that power doesn’t come from his demon form but it comes from your humanity in that aspect. And we get a family based thing where they save one of the grandkids from the evil of themselves/Mundus to give it all a full circle to properly retire Vergil/ Dante to say Ayee they grow together as brothers caring for one another rather hurting and battling each other. Nero character will shed more light and the lessons of it continues flourish. You can even bring back dmc 2 characters as well as lady and Trish to finish loose tides there to where Dante has a reason to retire which is him finally finding a woman in his life. Which he’ll be gone for good but he can always be a camo for guidance same as Vergil with him giving Nero the reigns and telling the grandkids don’t end up like me. and the rest of the gang like Morrison can say Ayee I got paid and Nero can protect people from mundus in whatever years he decides to come back

I have 3 ideas for another dmc game (some of these might've been said already, i did not see the comments)
1. Mundus isnt dead, and while dante and vergil are in the demon realm, mundus could maybe find a way to slip past. We can get some good character growth for nero and because dante and vergil have their sin devil trigger they are really powerful. You could then also make a dlc about vergil and dante like in dmc 4 (?) Where you played as vergil who fell down into hell after his battle with dante.
2. Ee could make a prequel about sparda beforw he met eva. This could allow us to explore many different weapons like the guns lumos and ombra, the yamato or sword sparda at their full potential.
3. This is kindof a copy of the first one but the beginning level is about dante and vergil getting put of hell but losing their capabilities like sin devil trigger by mundus, where all of them then team up to kill him
Well, DMC5 is the end of the Sons of Sparda Saga, not the series, I think DMC6 onward should be made as long as it remembers that it's not going to focus on Dante or Vergil anymore, if they even appear at all. Having a story where Nero and possibly the kids he has adopted become devil hunters for a climax against Mundus in the next few games to come seems like a great place to go towards
No, that will not work cause first of all, Dante, Vergil & Nero at this point are at a level of power where Mundus will be completely fodderized by them. What is the point of bringing back Mundus if he will end up getting killed in one hit by either one of them? In the DMC 2 novel, Dante fights an alternate universe version of Mundus who at bare minimum was twice as powerful as the Mundus in DMC1 and Dante kills him in one hit in his base form, no Devil Trigger, no Sparda sword, just with his Rebellion in his human form. And don't try to say the DMC2 novel isn't canon, you have no standing to back that up.
Second, the only way for Mundus (& Argosax) returning to make sense is if Dante dies. Technically Mundus is dead but if Dante dies, then Mundus will come back. When Sparda defeated Mundus, he flat out said that he killed Mundus but when Mundus came back in DMC1 & 3 (More specifically when Dante & Vergil were kids) it would have to be because Sparda died. So Mundus should never come back unless Dante dies.
Still feel that DMC 6 should happen, Nero’s potential is just beginning to expand and it’d be awesome to see him grow up to be as strong as his father and Uncle. With the success of DMC V and after Dragon’s dogma 2 finishing up soon, I do hope they explore it

Maybe a prequel following Sparda, he would play like a fusion of all three DMC Leads and have a unique role. What was it exactly that Made Him turn on Mundus. So far in lore, we only know of Sparda's overwhelming strength through legends. This game would show the true strength of a Pure demon tempered by compassion. It will end with showing how the Legendary Dark Knight fell. His Weapons include; Sparda, Sword, Scythe, and Spear modes treated as separate weapons, Rebellion/Yamato, wielded like Force Edge/Yamato+Independant moveset. Sparda could go most of the game with a crossbow for a ranged attack making Luce and Umbra an endgame unlock. Sparda's standard DT would just be him lightly tapping into demonic power, giving him armor shaped like his true form, Replacing SDT would be true proper DT which would allow Sparda to enter a state similar to Dante's SDT, with his own form of Judgement, Based on the title crawl animations for DMC1. Other playable characters would include Modeus and Baul from the anime
You could also follow Nero, could bring back Sparda, there is other threats that aren’t dead yet.
You could even follow Nero trying to find a way to rescue Dante and Vergil. On that journey he discovers another threat
I wouldn't mind a lady and trish spin-off, but you do make valid points. The gameplay for me was a bit hard to grip was pause combos, direction based attacks and several layers within every weapon and character. Any more depth personally would alienate newcomers IMO. There are some potential plot points for other games, but I think ending on 5 is satisfying enough.
This question might be the reason why the devs have made the DMC Reboot it's own continuity instead of a reboot. Just so they can try a different story with a similar setting and vibe, while still leaving a perfect conclusion to the OG Devil May Cry. Now will this new DMC timeline be any good? That's yet to be said.
Maybe DMC6 can be playing as a flashback of Vergil to see what happened to him after he got defeated as Nelo angelo and how the order of the sword recovered Yamato
Some people have pointed out and I will share as well, as this was a discussion I had with my friend a couple of days ago, because he's playing the Vergil DLC.
We both agreed that if they were to do a DMC6 that it will have Nero has the main focus of the game (as the DMC5 was clearly a passing of the torch to Nero) and the story will be in conjunction with Dante and Vergil (both as a playable characters of your choising and the other controlled by an AI. Using the same formula they did switching between characters in DMC5) in hell as this is a place we have not yet explored.
Mundus has returned as it were and the family need to finish their debt with the demon king. This could also be used to discover more about Sparta (as I am of the opinion he is imprisoned not dead), the war with Mundus (as they did touch on that a little bit in DMC 5) and the legacy of their family going back further rather than just the legacy of Dante and Vergil as it was in DMC5.
In saying that, the story doesnt have to say too much and give everything about Sparta, but just a little more information to say why Sparta was so powerful and decided to betray Mundus (I know it was for their mother, but I am talkimg more about the conflicting nature Sparta would have had on choosing between demons or the humans).
For Nero's part, can still be about Mundus as well and Trish would be more involved this time around. (I would like Trish and Lady to be more involved in the DMC series as they were in 1 and 3 if not more. I feel they've been sidelined and DMC 5 is proof of that).
While it might not need a DMC6 game, if they were, Mundus should be the boss to officially officially end Vergil and Dante's journey as it would come full circle for those who started on DMC1 and solely focus on Nero from then on.

I think you're right their wouldn't be any point in a DMC 6 It would be nice to have but wouldn't work and would make people who are extremely loyal to the series upset if the story reason behind a 6th main installment was something really stupid

should there be the 6? yes, but it should have been another name entirely since DMC has and always been associate with Dante. i know that the torch as been pass to Nero and Nero kit can still be pushed even more with his devil breaker given that there is no directional move for any of the breaker(lock-on + direction + breaker input). so in the new entry i would love to see him being the main character and explore DMC world/universe more than character driven as oppose to the first 5 games.
let's say there is a cult in Patty's home town and she can't really deal with it all by herself despite being a magician(iirc it was mentioned that Patty is a descendants of a witch family cmiiw), so she went out and try to contract Dante, but Morrison refer her to Nero, Trish and Lady. they try to uncover the cult objective and learns that the cult has been trying to resurrect Mundus(according to the novel Dante killed mundus, this is the comment i saw on the internet if anyone can confirm please do) and shenanigans happens DMC style.

I don't think that the core gameplay mechanics really need that much of an overhaul if a spin-off is on the table. DMC4SE showed off the amazing foundations of what Lady and Trish's combat could look like in a more robust setting, and Lucia's gameplay from 2, while needing an overhaul, could resemble something like Dante's own gameplay, but more acrobatic focused.
Further, DMC5's own gameplay showed that other fighting/combat styles could easily work in the game, since V himself was pretty much proof of concept of doing something very different with the formula.
If anything, the next DMC would just have to get a bit more creative on what they could do, and perhaps start off by looking at their back catalogue of action games over the years and see if any of those gameplay styles could get "DMCed". Or, they could also look towards head-to-head fighting games and check out other combat styles that haven't been explored yet.
Also, despite Nero coming to his own, he still has room to grow as a character. He's learned his lessons, sure, but now it's time for him to reach for the mantle of Legendary Devil Hunter, like his dear ol' uncle, and perhaps shut down a returning Mundus? The Demon King was promised a remach with Dante's "son" after all.
All I'm saying is that there are a LOT of directions the series could take, and it's be a waste to just let the foundations that DMC5 have set just go to waste.
I share your opinion as huge fan of DMC.
However DMC universe can be used for deferent type of game.
For example, Elden ring like, open world RPG revolving around being a daemon hunter. In terms of story "Dante and Vergil could "vanish" like their father Sparda did Demon world could be merged with Human world an surviving humans could reorganize civilization and resistance and elite Demon hunter "Devil May Cry academy" founded by old man and the legend Nero with Trish and Lady can be a starting point for player ( character creation and customization).
I think Devil May Cry 6 should be released soon for PS5 and Xbox Series X in the future and the last Devil May Cry game of the series because I want to know what will happen to Vergil and Dante and hopefully return to the human world and reunite with Nero, Nico, Lady, Kyrie, Morrison and Trish. Maybe more flashbacks should appear like featuring Sparda himself in his human form etc. Therefore new characters should appear like Patty, Nina, Sid, Nell Goldstein and maybe Enzo Ferino. New enemies like bosses too. But who was Nero's mother?

I think the one way it could go on is to settle both vergil and dante down. As it stands they are fighting in the demon world for fun but that isnt a place where one would see them in a few years down the line.
Furthermore mundus still exists, since he only got sealed and not killed.
I feel like the way it could go is have a story with dante and vergil as lead and everyone else especialy nero as side characters to not drag away fokus. Nero would still play a part to further build his relationship with vergil, but he shouldnt get a main part since it would get messy.
At the end of the story dante and vergil should settle down for good, not die just settle. Dante should get over his depression and maybe start a family of his own and vergil should have a gold relationship with nero.
It's a perfect ending, but I would love another anime or book or something. Maybe Nero has a daughter named Eva? Vergil and Dante reignite their bond while in the underworld and become closer than ever, but still keep their sibling rivalry. Maybe Dante and Vergil find a way to give a message to Nero from the underworld, and Vergil gets some development as a father and says something like, "I'm proud of you Nero" maybe he talks about his mother a little bit, and we get some insight about Nero's DT.
I was thinking about this yesterday and I started checking off primary antagonists in my head here’s the thing: Argosax ( the main villain from dmc 2 I’m sure I didn’t spell it correctly😅) and Mundus used to kind of co-rule the demon world together until Mundus ate the tree fruit giving him the edge he needed against Argosax
Vergil’s done the exact same thing and we see the results either Dante or Vergil individually could beat Mundus by themselves at this point Together? They’d squash him so I don’t see that happening.
Also while Dante and Vergil are still “rivals” they’ve both recovered a very important sense of family between them so Vergil isn’t exactly an antagonist anymore so he’s out. Argosax is legitimately dead thanks to Dante so he’s out. Arkham is dead thanks to Lady so he’s out.

i'd honestly just love some more stuff about Sparda and where he is. If he were to come back and be playable, that would be awesome. Grandpa and Grandson adventure looking for Dante and Vergil who are stuck in hell, that'd be cool. And Mundus still exists. While my memory of DMC2 is foggy, if Argosax is still around and Dante didn't outright kill him, it'd be interesting to see maybe the pair team up or even fuse into one massive very powerful demon. this is all just ideas though
Yes I think there needs to be a dmc 6 cuz one thing I found very curious is that neros girl is pregnant her voice was only introduced in the game but she was never in the game so because of that I think she is pregnant and I think it would be really interesting to see Neros kids being introduced into the game as well as Dante's daughter or son

I truly believe that a 6 is possible. Mundus come back stronger and a plot line around that would be a nice way to expand nero a bit more as well as tie up dante and vergil completely because 6 should involve sparda and backstory in it relevant to the story of the plot.
I dont see them doing 7 8 9 10 etc. That'd be dumb and very dragged out tbh.
But one last plotline to bring the entire story full circle back to sparda vs mundus and the devil bringer being fully fleshed out for nero would be good to see.

This remind me of the Shin Megami Tensei series. It had the Persona series as a spinoff and worked so well that many people don't even know the first one exist, and the mechanics of both are similar but not the same at all (the first one is far more difficult). They could make a 6th game of DMC with Nero as the sole MC, maybe with the premise of getting out Dante and Vergil from the Underworld as a final note to the saga.

In short terms: yes.
In broadened terms, we need a few things.
-local/online co-op for the cameo system in narrative and Bloody Palace
-broadened character roster; Nero, Dante, Vergil, Lucia, Trish and Lady, plus new characters
-open character selection for all narrative missions
a DMC as Vergil after DMC3 and before DMC1 could fill one of the greatest plot holes
I think if there is a DMC 6 it should star Nero Lady and Trish with Dante and Virgil as SE ex characters

If Resident Evil can have several iterations with focuses on different characters, there's no reason DMC cant do the same.
A DMC6 with Nero coming into his own with his newly discovered powers along with some potential new devil hunters and gameplay styles has potential. And leave Dante and Vergil either as secret unlockables or Special Edition content. Dante is where Devil May Cry started. But that doesnt mean Devil May Cry has to be restricted to the existence of a single character. This isnt Super Mario Brothers
They should make a prequel focusing on Sparda. There’s so much to explore about that.
We don’t know if there are angels and a heaven. Yeah there are angel like demons but what if there are actual angles that decide to go to the human world to punish Virgil for growing the tree and then mistake Nero for his dad. If you go in that direction then there’s a whole new world to explore and you could even bring in Dante and Virgil to help fight enemies that they didn’t even know existed. Plus with world building we could see how people on earth reacted to demons since it wasn’t wildly known that they even existed outside of cities similar to Nero’s hometown

They should give us a new story, maybe a new demon comes to the human world and makes a new demon/human hybrid and that gives us our own new devil hunter
When dmc5 first came out, I downloaded the free trial and beat it one night. I feel I agree with what you’ve said, devil may cry could end here and I’d be happy with it. I was introduced to this series from my childhood with 3 and from playing the entire series (with it’s obvious downsides) I feel 5 has ended off on a fantastic note. If they were to do something more I definitely agree it should probably be a spinoff or something other than a mainline title. It would be interesting to see what they would do for a new mainline title though although it’s difficult to imagine where they could go with a new story.
Would be great to see Dante and Virgil having an entire story working together. Maybe do a character swap mid level feature.
