Not Photon ... that was her mother (at least in the MCU). Monica now has become Spectrum. She can see and manipulate any electro-magnetic energy. In the comics Monica has been Spectrum since 2013.
@@Karrrterrr Nope ... Not Photon, definitely out of character for Monica to take on someones name. In the comics she wouldn't even take the title of Captain Marvel when it was offered to her. Out of respect for Mar-vell since she didn't think she was worthy of the title, but the Avengers called her that anyway, much to her chagrin. Beside they clearly depicted the magnetic fields around the electric power sources and lines when she looked around, which is not what Photon perceives. That's Spectrum, which is who Monica Rambeau has been in the comics since 2013 anyway. Remember, Fiege runs the comics now too, and why market a different Monica when you don't have to. Beside Spectrum is more powerful than Photon anyway, why not!

That's not to say she is any of those in the MCU. Monica's mom was called Photon, and that is not in the comics. In the MCU she is Spectrum, based on the abilities they have shown, the color of her eyes, the color of her energy, in WandaVision. Even the outfit she was wearing was Spectrum like. She is nothing like Photon. Marvel Studios doesn't do things randomly, they give all the clues to the fans so we know what we are dealing with. Naming a character a different name from what they showing visually is bad storytelling. It would be like the MCU calling Thor, Beta Ray Bill, just because he wields the hammer and wears the same costume and they thought it was a cooler name than Thor. He is not Bill. Just like this Monica is not Photon as depicted in the MCU. BTW, Spectrum was a man at one point in the comics. The characters name was Joe Biden. Just because it was in the comics, I don't think this Monica looks anything like the President, nor do I think she is going to be POTUS in the MCU.
