- until two months ago I was thinking dating apps are evil. That they are made for self insecure people. That it's an instrument I would never use as I am better than this.. But Moscow made me change this. Also remembering some experiences with trust issues related to dating apps in Russia..

Katya, interesting and honest video. Recently I listened to a channel talking about how social media, especially IG have made the world one big pond. How true. In the past, if one was established in a community this would be enough to find and keep a partner. However, nowadays people can access each other regardless of their relationship status or even where they live. These days couples are created not because of need but because they want to be together. This is much more complicated because wants are not a good basis for commitment. I think you have a great strategy for life. You dance in a vibrant city with many subcultures. Maybe try tango in Moscow, it's also competitive but much more equal in the process of inviting partners to dance. Anyhow, Apps can help you find people that you could have a deeper connection with. Ultimately, I think we find peace when we find someone who is at peace with themselves, which is what I think you were saying when you said that you are interested in people who have actually done something with their lives. The experiences you talked about in this video are very similar to what I've gone through as well, with some differences of course. From my point of view, I can say that dating apps cause a phenomenon that some philosophers here in Italy call "Tinderism," and it's a uniquely harmful trend. I really liked your video because you were spontaneous and added that touch of "social frustration," which I think resonates with many young people worldwide, partly due to the influence of parents , affecting both men and women. I believe this is also connected to a misunderstanding of the concept of a "provider" when it comes to men. It's not about being the "provider" but rather a "happiness provider." It's a fundamental difference, but I can't quite explain fully in a TH-cam comment. Anyway, you did a great job ,awesome video!
Also on the dating apps you are getting constant dopamine stimulation with "new people" such that the probability of becoming a serial dater is very high. Serial daters are addicted to the burst of dopamine of the first 3 months of "knowing" someone, and once that novelty rush fades, they find the person boring and move onto the next match. Serial daters loose the ability to form long term relationships or be long term happy unless they snap out of the cycle and "settle down" (translated: "compromise lower"). My cousin was a serial dater, that is how I know about it. Also dating apps are like crack cocaine for serial daters (they form the addiction there, and it is hard to stop).

My opinion about this is, You meet the right person at the right time. Sometimes it feels stupid to think like that. But you can't plan everything in life and I've seen enough examples to believe that.
