Speaking of not forgetting, lets not forget about the language and culture that existed here before the “founding”, just saying as an indigenous person… i mean the “founding” certainly not something i can forget about, but yeah, sadly, probably true, easy for most…

I immigrated from Germany to the US eight years ago and I know exactly how it feels. My reasons for moving there were different but the struggles are the same. People questioning if you came there legally or if you’re staying legally is so sad to me. I’ve been through the entire green card process and it’s no Picnic. It cost a lot of money, it’s very invasive and takes a long time. But you’ll get through it. The family part was and is the hardest for me too. I would suggest , if it’s possible, to find a therapist. I did and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Good luck on your journey ❤

Hiya Vitaly! Stoked to see what this channel brings! I'm absolutely shocked that you're in Massachussets. I figured you'd've chosen California! I'm going through something similiar but not really, I had to leave the US as I wasn't "legal", my whole family is still there while I'm alone in Canada. I haven't seen them in 11 years. I'm hoping that my paperwork stuff gets squared away soon, I totally felt when you said "had to learn to celebrate Christmas alone".

Once he's feeling more comfortable and/or confident (channel your 2015 Demi Lovato, Legend!) he could even do cute little Shorts, like expectations vs reality regarding his first-time experiences in America (first apartment, first job, etc) or even "What people think immigrating from Russia to America is" (Fieval and his mouse family 😂) vs what it was really like, but ofc with that elevator music from so many memes playing over footage of boring airport lines and whatever else captures the non-Fievalness of it all....and perhaps any actual cats or rodents one might glimpse during modern travel 😅
...Now that I think about it, such Shorts might help Vitaly grow this channel. Others who have moved from their home country to the US or even Canada could watch them and relate, which might pull them in to watch his longer videos....which they might also relate to. Or people thinking about moving from their homeland to the US might watch and find it both informative and humorous. I've found a few creators I've subbed to through their Shorts. Today was this dude who does/is Powerline from A Goofy Movie. If you're a Legend like Vitaly, you know and love both Powerline and A Goofy Movie. If not, well....."If we listen to eachothers hearts, you'll find we're never too far apart" 👍

I adore Slavic accents. My entire family is from Poland so I grew up having to translate for my mom. My mom still makes cute little mistakes when she speaks English, like saying "one buy, buy one free" instead of "buy one, get one free."

I adore the little slip-ups from people where English is not their first language. I remember these two Portuguese girls talking about "dirty biking".. I almost didn't want to correct them because "dirty biking" sounds so much cuter and is also more accurate than "dirt biking"...though I did kindly inform them "You're close! It's 'dirt biking' but I really do like the way you say it better!" They appreciated the help improving their English as well as the compliment.
I still want to call it dirty biking lol
Your mom's "buy one free" is actually pretty on point, too. You do have to buy one for the free one! 💖

Vitaly, I was you 24 yrs ago. A little 19 yo boy from Russia who escaped Russian traditional values for the first time and was able to be himself. The struggle you’re going through is giving me flashbacks of my own story. It took long 7 years before I was able to go back home and visit my family. Now my husband, who’s English is going through the immigration process and it helps a lot to understand his pain having gone through it myself. He’s also stuck here until his green card is approved.

I personally LOVE accents. I have a bit of a heavy NYC accent. My closest friends has a parent with a Korean accent and the other Chinese. My parents - Italian accents, but they speak two separate dialects so there's a little variation there. My partners parents are Jamaican. I love just listening to everyone.

Hey Vitaly, I want to start by sending _much love_ from Bulgaria 🇧🇬 And yes, as a Bulgarian, I understand all the Russian jokes & references you make 😹 I haven't missed a video of yours since I found your channel & I'm so glad you finally decided to give us some backstory 😸
I was born in 1994 & I've been a *Melomaniac & Pop Culture FanGirl* for as long as I can remember, so I can totally relate to people sometimes just using you as Google, Wiki, or simply a History book, while completely forgetting that you're an actual human being with a soul & personality 😅
I've also been working in the food industry for years now: supermarkets, hypermarkets, bakeries, now I'm in the office & production workshop of a coffee chain - so your workplace stories also resonated a lot (I swear, SOME clients are just-) 😄
I'm so happy you made it to to The States 🇺🇸, and as hard as it is, just remember how lucky you are & that it's all worth it ⭐ My cousin left around '07 & was really panicking in the beginning (couldn't even tell the weather over there, because of the different measurements, LOL) but now she says she's never coming back here - just comes to visit the family once in a couple of years 🔙 (and TBH - can't blame her one bit)...
P.s. if you by any change decide to come back & visit Russia, pleeease be extremely careful - you can get drafted for the military (or God knows what else) - things in Eastern Europe are SO NOT calm by any means 😩

Vitally, I Can honestly say that out of all the YEARS I’ve spent watching TH-cam (I’m fkn 31 and the way you have all of us 2000s teens in a chokehold is insane 😂) I’ve never gone back to someone’s Chanel three times after watching One of their videos for the first time and had to make sure the subscriber count was correct. Not that it’s the most important thing but I just couldn’t believe you didn’t have millions. Anytime I show anyone your content they’re like “OMG he’s talking about everyone we grew up with! “ you may not have millions of subscribers (yet 😅$$$$) but I honestly believe that the ones that are here are here because they truly admire all of the hard work and effort you put into your videos. You’re always so spot on with your commentary too. We love having you here in the states but especially California! Working and pursuing your dreams is not easy but you’re kicking ass. God bless you on your journey and even though California is expensive af (I’m about 4 hrs away from la) it is a dream at times. I still get that same feeling whenever I go to la too. Since you are sharing about you, I am compelled to share a little bit with you.
I am first generation American born. My mother is from Trieste ,Italy and my father Sicily.
My mothers father moved here shortly after she was born. He lived here alone, working 6 days a week, saving up to get my mom and her mom here. He worked so hard to provide me so many opportunities.
It is such a bad@ss and brave thing to move countries!
I am not in the same state, I am in NYC, but we are time zone buddies!
I love your first channel and am all in for this one! Wishing you so much success. 💓✌️

It is definitely brave for anyone to just leave everything behind and move some place where they know nobody. Especially an entire other country where there's bound to be struggles with a language barrier. It can be frustrating for both sides when that barrier comes up and must also feel very isolating at such times for those who are being misunderstood in their efforts to communicate. English is my first language and I struggle sometimes to be understood by fellow Canadians; we speak the same language but they still don't always understand and I don't always know how to put thoughts/feelings into words. That in itself can feel isolating or frustrating, but I'm still in my home and native land....
This is probably part of why places like "Little Italy" etc exist in large cities (Toronto is basically the Little Apple if New York is the Big Apple.) It allows brave immigrants a place where they can have a taste of home and be able to speak without any language barriers getting in the way. They can even create new families with their fellow.....I want to say "imports" like how fancy wealthy people love boasting about their expensive goods imported from Paris, Milan, etc, but I'm afraid it might come across as something negative when I don't mean it as such. Not everyone is brave enough to have themselves imported by exporting themselves away from everything and everyone they know....and also you can't spell important without "import"
Another thing I've been noticing amongst the younger folk who come here is they're still forming their own "families" away from home with other international students etc, but they've also created their own subcultures mashing our stuff with theirs. It blew my mind when I discovered this Sidwhalla (forgive me for any misspelling) guy...huge east-Indian rapper and his music videos were pretty much like our rap videos, except I don't recall seeing any ladies booty-shakin'. Opening up their own bars/clubs catering to the international college students who find they quite enjoy many things about living here, but they also want to put their own twist on our things. I think that's pretty cool.
Some people complain a lot about immigrants everywhere, and that's not cool. It's like they forgot that we live on stolen land....and also we have people from other lands to thank for some of our favorite foods and other things. Most people like pizza and lasagna, for example, or tacos, or pierogies if they're made right, Swiss and Belgian chocolates....I know there's so much more to other cultures than just food, but food is almost as universal as music, if not moreso. Most of us outside of Scotland do not appreciate the sound of bagpipes (except for maybe Korn/Jon Davis stans, which good for Jon doing for bagpipes what Weird Al did for the accordion), but as soon as you smell something good cooking, you want to know what it is and if you can have some. Especially now that it's barbecue season! But anyway, yeah, most of us are descendants of immigrants who came over at some point, just it's easy to forget when its been so many generations since our ancestors stepped off that boat. (Mine stepped off The Mayflower, like so many others.) And those international students are working their butts off to be here between their education and their jobs!

I am extremely proud of you and have immense respect for you for your dedication to learning American English. It is one of the most difficult languages in the world, I think. And you’re doing a fantastic job of it. I’m impressed by how well you already speak English and I know you will become even better. I’ve enjoyed your content which I’ve seen so far and look forward to seeing more. As an added bonus, you’re super cute!

Vitaly, this video was an immediate click and subscribe! I have been watching you for a few months now and leave an occasional comment. I found your videos one day while eating lunch alone on the floor of my apartment, feeling very lonesome. Woe is me!
To say that I (and WE) are proud of you for uploading this video onto your new channel is such an understatement! Kudos to you for doing this to practice your English, but let me tell you something: The mistakes you make when speaking English are merely a reflection of where you come from, and to me that is very charming! This shows that you are extremely intelligent for being able to juggle and retain TWO very difficult languages in your head! What an amazing accomplishment. What I am trying to say is, your mistakes in English do not reflect ignorance but instead reflect that you are so intelligent and skilled and brave and OUTGOING! Try not to be ashamed for your mistakes because like i said, they are quite charming anyways :)
AND HOW DARE THEY THROW A LEGEND LIKE YOU IN THE DELI DEPARTMENT….Don’t they know who you are?! You are the Cape Cod local y2k celebrity…Duh.
I am Leaving this comment because myself and everyone else who has commented and subscribed are so excited and proud to see you step outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to something new.
Loneliness is a beast, but no feeling lasts forever. They say life is short, but when you are living in it, it can actually feel unbearably long. But that is good because that means that it is EXTREMELY unlikely that you will be spending Christmas and New Years not surrounded by the love of your family. You will see them again, and that reunion will be something you cherish forever. For now, keep collecting stories and memories that you will be able to share with them when you see them again. :)
No one is island, especially not you! We love you very much and we are sooooo freaking excited to see what’s coming next, LEGEND!!!! Much love from Indiana, YOU GOT THIS!

I did a similar programme 25 years ago and also ended up on the deli! I had no idea what 'chicken satay' was and my brain nearly broke when someone asked for 'shaved turkey', lol. I would go to have my panic attacks in the giant refrigerator.
Stay strong. We believe in you 💖
