Yes but also be aware that some of the things you might like will be too expensive to attain. It's not like anybody needs to buy anything but they should just be aware if the thing that they want to buy will be like triple the price if they don't buy it soon.
I pulled the Brilliant Stars Charizard from a booster box and I am not really sure to hold it or sell it. I only collect vintage holos so it's not something I collect but opened the box for some fun.
With the estimate of 200k of each alt art existing, I think they will always be in demand, but also always fairly obtainable. While these cards were hard to pull, the print runs have been wild. So many collectors have sealed collections or investments which was super niche before the 2020 craze. I don't see them "crashing" but I don't see a reason to fomo. There are plenty of better rarer cards to chase at much better prices.
I grew up in the vintage era, I love wizard of the coast pokemon sets. Psa 9s or even 8s from expedition, aquapolis and even skyridge are very decent price tags at the moment. I’m always checking offer up and eBay and bought some amazing slabs for a fair price from those eras. Even gold stars right now are decent prices for singles, graded 8s or 9s. I am starting to collect all of them for my collection and for my sons future 😊
I think so many people don't understand that they can't apply the same logic of vintage to modern because back then it was an exception to keep stuff sealed/keep cards you pull pristine. Now it almost seems more rare for a card to get beat up LOL
I have graded a lot of NM alt arts in PSA 10’s over the last 3 years. I acquired most of my expensive cards this way, and it makes it harder for me to sell because I most likely won’t buy them back at inflated prices later down the road.
The human psyche is so interesting. I was telling all my friends to buy the alt arts months ago. They didn’t, then when they climbed they scrambled to buy them. 🤦♂️
i think the two year rule also has a lot to do with the competitive game. when a set is around 2 years old it will be rotated out meaning that you cant use cards from it in 90% of tournaments. what a lot of people do is sell their cards that rotate out since they dont have value to them anymore
I had this umbreon and I pulled the zard v. I have all language versions ofzard v. Somehow the english i pulled got 10. I needed them with my gameart zard
Sealed product is undefeated. When it comes to cards just don’t buy during peaks unless you plan on keeping it for a very long time. Those are the very simple rules I follow. Even some sealed I wouldn’t buy at peak. Evolving skies has been my personal exception but even then I am buying everything but the over priced booster boxes
What do you mean with the 70% deals? Is it normal to buy cards at 70% marked price? I live in Germany and use cardmarked to buy singles! Due to English cards not being as common, I need to pay a good chunk more most of the time..
Maybe for flippers or in bulk lots. If you're buying on eBay or TCGplayer, you're paying market price. I would never sell for 70% of the cards value. What's in it for me? That the person buying the card turns around and gets market value. That's screwing yourself over.
Imo now is a bad time to buy overall. Even if its not for "investing" and u just like the cards, ur buying at aths at the peak of a highly speculative bull market. I sold what i have and would personally wait a few months for prices to cool if i was interested in buying these cards. Even if it doesnt go down, at least u know ur paying a consistent price. Thats just what i think tho, cheers!
@@nesto2851 no they charge in tiers based on what the card is valued at time of encapsulation. But if a card is a $147 raw. You would send it to grade in low price tier. But if that same card gets a 10 at the end of the grading pricess and is worth $900 in said slab, you have to pay an upcharge. Which goes from $15.99-$74.99. Slight price hike for a huge profit margin. Plus they pay out full card values if slabs are lost in mail.
I like your channel and you seem like a great, business-driven person, but the comment @6:04 doesn’t seem like a good thing to say to your viewers, who potentially could also be your next buyers/sellers. Came off as a bit selfish, though you do have a right to feel that way.
I really appreciate this comment. It wasn't my intention to come off that way/not meant in a bad way, so thank you for pointing that out! I'll be more mindful of my language going forward ❤️
Just buy what ya want. Dont get FOMOd into buying stuff you dont even like because of '''investments''

I feel like the shiny poncho pikachu in the background is plotting some evil scheme
To be fair, who isn't?
Im happy I finally got my Moonbreon

That's exactly what I've been telling people. Sell the hype in June cause for some reason that's usually the peak of whatever the hype is that year
what is the mic you are using?
Who knew? Set goes out of print and price jumps 😱

Have a fantastic time at Card Party 2.0!!! :)
Thank you!!

The extra $5 hagglers always get me hahaha
Just got the 4 gold JP vstars 😊
Thanks Eva, have fun at CP2. The moon bunny at the end 🤣🤣
I feel like arguing for an extra $10 is very reasonable on 70% for alt arts. Alt arts are like 80 85% anything less you're getting reked.
Seriously... they could list on ebay and even after fees get 10-15% more.
It's usually people reaching out to me who want to sell a lot of cards quickly :)
Great video!

Hi Eva! I got back into pokemon cards because of your channel and then you stopped making videos! Hope everything is okay!
I kinda missed the boat on most alt arts.
Buy alt arts if ya want them for your binder. Otherwise move on to other stuff, at least for now. Always more cool stuff out there for better prices .
moonbreon....
10:17 If I can take money out of eBays pocket and put it into someone who's content I watch you know it is gonna happen
Prettiest poketuber❤
She's a smokeshow worth simping over
Where u getting all these 70% deals?
At conventions when vending or just by not being picky haha
@@EvasBinder Sometimes I buy lots of 50+ slabs and even then it's hard to get 70%. I'll buy anything. You have good connections.

a lot of people "unlike me" have lives outside of this. LuL
Here's the thing I buy what ever I want I'm not looking investment. I make good money so I don't need money ahahha
I sent a bunch of alt arts a couple months ago to psa and i got upcharged because of them going up so much
So they charge by how much the card is worth?

Big brain play of them, to wait until pri ws go up to start grading your order haha
@@EvasBinder they surrrrreeeee did. Had a gengar in there. Sent them at the end of feb. They just finished them.

Eva what would you say to a lugia ex japanese 2005 psa 9 card? Would you get it?
I'm buying alt arts. Almost every single set from SW&SH still as of today have undervalued alt arts for under $24 with low PSA pop.
slow zoomout making me motion sick, great video otherwise
It’s a bit too late to buy those alt arts.

No, the answer is no, modern pokemon is bantha foodoo.
Incorrect it’s your opinion which you’re entitled to not against you but some years from now they won’t be considered modern anymore.
