Shameless self promo: DM me on Instagram @evas.binder to sell me your cards/slabs/sealed product! Also can find me on Whatnot (referral): whatnot.com/invite/evas_binder
I just discovered your channel a week ago when you came back. Very refreshing personality and opinions, which I mostly agree with. I'm strictly a collector, not interested in making money from the hobby. Raikou is my favorite, so it's cool to see another legendary beast collector. ez sub. Looking forward to hearing more from you!
Read your article on TCGplayer about how to start collecting which brought me here. I watch a lot of TH-camrs and you make a lot of good points I don't hear anywhere else. I hope you continue to content more frequently. Subscribed
I’ve been heavy into collecting xy lately. I love the screaming in Japan text on the secret rares! Although I’ve been picking them up raw-near mint/mint and holding off on the grading portion, and just getting a nice nm looking card from my favorite sets. I also think xy and sun n moon reverse holos will pick up soon. They don’t make the designs like that anymore, and to find near mint/mint versions of them will be harder to track down in time since a lot of ppl trash them or just toss them in a box.
Predictions for 2024... cards will come out; I will buy a single booster box of each set and put them in my storage box; watch YT videos about Pokemon cards.
I am collecting every art of all Scarlet and violet sets 2 times, when gen. 10 comes out, I will open every art 1 time and still have every art pack 1 times sealed 🙂
Really enjoy and appreciate your videos. You are a breath of fresh air, and love your opinions. My son met you at a Collect-A-Con, and he really enjoyed the conversation and said you were great to talk with. Hope 2024 is a great one for you.
Paldea and Paradox I feel are so slept on and I love it. It allows me to continue to acquire BB's at $80-$90 consistently and I will gladly continue to do so I do agree that this year could really be setup for some banger sets. I would love to see something like the Mewtwo and Charizard fight scenes play out in sets going forward. Telling a great story, with great artwork and tough pull rates on those chase cards are something I would love to see Pokemon do in 2024!
Q/A: Regarding your TCG Player link, I'm going to be getting on the site to get a slew of cards for GLC format play, and my q is if I use your link to sign in/create an account, put the stuff in my cart and organize it all, log out, get on the next day via my computer not accessing the site via your link, will the cards I put in my cart the day before via your link still be coded to give to you or should I use your link, the same specific one like in this video description each time I log into TCG Player in order for it to work? I'm asking because I haven't done one of these personal link things before. I'd say thank you, but really me getting the stuff is for me, but helping you, so you're welcome ha
1. Evolving Skies will get a Scarlet and Violet variant set. Isn't it interesting as of January 2024, there hasn't been one Illustration full-art of an eevee anywhere? Buy many, many boxes if this happens. Slabs for Sealed, Sealed for Slabs. Juggle values, I love it. 2. Rumours in my network circle has been swirling for MONTHS, that Pokemon is working on a remake of X and Y. If this is the case, all Yvetal cards will jump in price. Also, it is not confirmed if this will follow Scarlet and Violet in 2 years, or will be a spin-off title like Arceus or a remake like Let's Go. Hopefully without the Go part. 3. End of 2024 the vintage market will already pass the stability in pricing, and you'll see sharp signs of increases in Gen 1-3 Cards in PSA 10/9. Scarlet and Violet 151 has already started a new wave of collectors, and some vintage slabs are only a price-tag away ;)
2025 soon? Lots to be excited for, Battle Partners, Rocket, BW sets. Year 3 shaping up to be very exciting. Personally I'm trying to catch up on my vintage and chip away at my other themed binders.
I agree with the SV sets 5-8 going to be an upgrade like every other era. One might be good to invest in but we will see. I also agree with sun and moon tag teams. The pops are so low compared to ultra modern and way cooler cards in my opinion.... I think the mid-era sets will go up too but not this year. Those cards just aren't known enough and popularity is a huge factor right now compared to rarity. For now...
If Pokemon company doesn't come out with something insanely desirable the way alt arts did in swsh this era there might not be much to do and this series very well could go out with a whimper .. because honestly they've already explored almost every which way an an AR and SAR Pokemon can just chill on a card and the serious lack of AR and SAR in Shiny Treasure is pretty underwhelming compared to V Star Universe which was so loaded front to back with amazing art
It's a great time to pick up some harder to find singles. I also see 151 being one of the most desired modern sets for years to come, so feeling really good about my sealed 151. Love your thoughts and takes, happy new year!
ive been loving how cheap a lot of the illustration rares from scarlet and violet are, hoping the new sets keep it up and i can get some good cards at affordable prices
Been loving your resurgence in the TH-cam space. Curious what exactly you mean by “from a collectibility standpoint singles will do better than slabs”. Curious what perspective this statement pertains to and what your “unit of measurement” is that will make singles “better”. Thanks!
Hey, loving your videos! Although im not a slab collector, your channel is super informative while not leaning too hard into investing/money topics. Happy New Year!
Not even my niche, but spot on with the predictions! Howeverrrr I think we only have a year of peace to collect pokemon cards. Speaking of... PSA 10s of Tyranitar.. hit me up I'm interested lol
I'm worried that if all the rippers and collectors leave the hobby, that playable cards will become much more expensive. I've been really enjoying buying entire decks for the price of a meal at mcdonalds, and I'd hate to go back to paying like 70 bucks for a card like they did in the olde days. What do you think?
Such a terrific and informative video! To both the deeply involved collector to the casual one. You covered valid points I feel anyone can understand and can be backed with their own research. Clear and concise the whole way through. I’m deff wicked bullish on 151 in the coming years for sureee, I mean you know lolll
Glad someone talked about the grading. Out of the thousands of cards I have sent for me and others I haven’t sent one to CGC. When they made their changes it took my interest from 0 to lower than.
All of this stuff was printed into the ground. It’ll still be similar prices by the end of the year and next year when Pokémon has the data, they will print less of whatever sets are to come.
Nice video! I personally believe that in 2024 many collectors won't even grade cards anymore... Too many scandals, 6s that become 10s and viceversa... I feel like many collectors woke up and realized that grading is just another moneygrab
Sgc is my grading company all day. 30 year history and the ceo who took over is making all the right moves. They actually care about centering on the cards
There is currently a listing for the entei ex dark explorers English psa10 for 2k, and a Japanese psa10 for $228. Why the discrepancy? Isn’t Japanese versions valued higher than English when it comes to Pokémon?
I've been looking at those for some pickups the past 3-4 months. Finding clean copies is like nearly impossible and if they are clean they have been graded for sure. Nice to see my thoughts of picking those up has been accurate 8]
Because you didn't mention it, i will. SGC has been grading longer than CGC, BGS etc. They have been gaining space in the TCG world over the past year. They are more than a legitimate company and have been. Just not known for TCG, which it will be.
Ya they’ve been killing it and I’ve done multiple submissions with em now. TOTAL GRADED CARDS FOR 2023 PSA - 13.5 million CGC - 1.75 million SGC - 1.28 million BGS - 772k
Just remember as of right now the top 4 selling sports cards are in SGC slabs. SGC is more than legit. Just too many damn flippers nowadays and people just desperate to sell so they settle for less than PSA.
Clearly biased toward PSA, as you say yourself. It's awfully convenient to hop on the bandwagon of hating on CGC while ignoring the blatant issues with PSA.
Becket will die faster, it’s well known in deeper portion of the hobby that Becket gives out Black labels to F&F. PSA has the best reputation, but sometimes their QC does lack from time to time.
CGC has a better quality slab where PSA feels cheap. CGC has UV protection, PSA does not. As a collector CGC offers more than PSA. I think it's interesting that of course you shill for PSA when you obviously own PSA slabs in the background. I have both and I prefer CGC for preservation as a collector.
all big grading companies are shit, i own 90% psa 8% bgs 2% cgc. unless they start using AI, all of them are shit because of damaging cards and grading out of a mood, never consistent. my condition expertise is worth 10x more than any PSA/BGS/CGC grade and that's just sad that an "unprofessional collector" can grade better than professionals whose only job is to grade cards.

Modern graded cards will never distinguish themselves like vintage graded cards. IMO. Reason is raw cards are babied now compared to late 90's
yes, but higher exposure and demand
Do you ever play the game?
Thank you for your financial advice! :^)
I like the ramblings but you have alot of cool things your saying

My prediction is something Gold and Silver related for the 25th anniversary. A whole set focused on gen 2 would be cool
