The classic Resident Evil recap video is back for it's 2020 counter-part with Wesker's plot revealed to players for the first time in HD.
Big thanks to Capcom for remaking these games even though they didn't have to. It's not everyday your favorite game series is meticulously remade in perfect life-like quality. Lets be thankful and hope for more to come in this regard!

When the Wesker Report originally released with Code Veronica, I watched it repeatedly. I couldn't get enough of it. Now to experience it all over again with scenes from modern RE games is a wonderful trip down memory lane. Awesome work!
I was the same way man, when CVX came out I watched the original so many times. We didn’t get things like that as part of our video games, where an actual supplemental narrated video was made just to explain retcons they made. We definitely had it good haha, wouldn’t trade growing up in the 90’s for any thing modern day, that’s for sure. Sucks for kids these days and in general people born into the 90’s.
Veronica has hands down the best portrayal of wesker.
Hes like a force of nature. He doesnt act on desire. He just, goes about and collects data.

nah,this still has potential to remain cannon since in 6 we learned she is infected with g and can regenerate wounds and pays off the "there's something about this girl" and kinda how she was deceived too... tho i expected something a little bit more exciting

this was an error they made, Resident Evil 4 was originally supposed to back up this statement. But the game scrapped the concept and went with what we have today. Though, it would’ve been interesting, seeming that it was supposed to take place in Jan. 1999 with Sherry being kidnapped by Wesker and Spencer with Leon coming to save her, as well as Chris and Claire making cameos.
Yeah this “report” is mostly ignored going forward. They don’t mention Wesker being killed by a Tyrant ever again.
it was originally their plan in the early development of RE4, Sherry is originally the one to be rescued by Leon instead of the US president's daughter

Albert Wesker literally my all time favorite villain wish they didn't kill him off in re 5 he's character literally made resident evil 5 so great if he wasn't killed off imagine what re6 or re7 would've been Wesker 1960-2009😢

To be honest, I wanted RE 5 and 6 to be the Infinity War and Endgame of Resident Evil, 5 would've ended with Albert managing to spread the Uroboros all around the world (or just spread the Viruses through the atmosphere, so all the world would be full of BOWs), 6 could be Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca, Billy, Carlos, Leon, Claire, maybe even Sherry, Ada, Ark Thompson and Jake uniting forces on this almost ravaged world in order to take down Albert, and the new current story could be focused on Jake, Sherry, Piers, Barry's daughters, the pair of kids Arl Thompson adopted at the end of Survivor and maybe even some Valenfield's children trying to take down Alex on the readapted world post the events of 5 and 6!

Personally, I feel like Richard Waugh is the best voice for Albert Wesker, with Peter Jessop and D.C. Douglas as close second and third, respectively. It was nice hearing him reprise his role from RE0.

This is purely amazing! I absolutely love how the story is retold through Wesker's cold and calculating perspective.
I love how fans can throw together game files and clips and make better entertainment than these live action movie directors can.
It's the most cinematic retelling of the "Raccoon City Saga" told properly by the fans.

@@ipoulter9765 I know but I meant in the remastered timeline....I see this whole thing as 2 different universes just because there are some little details different....and a few things wouldn't make sense if you look at every game like operation RC or Outbreak. I just love story's and if you look at this chronologically then you can see that in the remake timeline only the first mission of Operation RC and just a few levels of Outbreak exist

Good work! Wish some cutscenes from Wesker's escape of the Spencer Mansion from Umbrella Chronicles were used when talking about Wesker's resurrection.
One was! The scene where he is shown injecting himself was solely from UMBRELLA CHRONICLES. The only reason I didn't indulge more was to stay as true to the original as I possibly could.
Richard Waugh as Wesker is as iconic to me as David Hayter is as Solid/Naked Snake.
Wesker and sephiroth could have a lot to talk about.

I see you wanted to stick to the originals even when using RE2 Remake cutscenes. Appreciate your attention to detail by not only using the original RE2 Leon outfit, but also using a modded Claire RE2 original outfit. (since the official RE2 orginal outfit deviates greatly)

Just stumbled upon this, this is very well done and loved it.
As much as I love the remakes of 2 and 3 the music for them paled in comparison to the originals. Seeing the new visuals with the classic soundtracks in this made it even better.
Wow, that's a great recap of the beginnings of RE! Concise and precise in under 30 minutes. Love that the story's being told in Wesker's perspective/the concept of Wesker's Report.

You are no D.C. Douglas, but you make a wonderful voice for cold, calculating, never loyal Albert Wesker. Nice job incorporating footage from the recent RE3 and RE2 remakes, and the classic RE1 remake and RE0 games.
This is not my voice. This is the ORIGINAL Wesker voice, before D.C. Douglas. It's the only voice that even comes close to Douglas' perfect take.

Resident evil is a great game. And yes capcom had to remake it, that's how they make money. But they actually put their heart's in making these remake's. And yes they are amazing!! I hope they remake code veronica 🙏🏻

Its entirely possible that virus was affecting him. With his unique genetics it just took a long time and by the 5th game he was a raving maniacal lunatic
after all these years, we still do not know much about the rival company that Ada and Wesker were working for or refering too. Was it Tricel? was it the Connections? there is just so many unanswered questions that I kinda wish the remakes had touched on

My name is Albert Wesker.
As a researcher I aimed to become an executive in the ostensibly bona fide pharmaceutical company Umbrella, which dealt in developing biological weapons behind the scenes.
However, meeting a certain researcher at the executive training center in Raccoon City made me decide to significantly alter my path forward. His name was William Birkin.
A man with preeminent talent in research fields.
Before long I transferred to S.T.A.R.S., a special operations unit of the Raccoon Police Department.
Umbrella sent many people into the police as crisis management of their illegal biological weapons development.
Using the title of S.T.A.R.S. Captain, I conducted all sorts of intelligence activities for Umbrella.
While handling cloak-and-dagger activities I formulated a certain plan and awaited an opportunity to set it in motion.
Then at last, an opening presented itself.
1998

The beginning was the bizarre murder cases that occurred one after another in the forest surrounding a certain mansion.
The source was a biohazard caused by the t-Virus leaking from an Umbrella laboratory located in the mansion.
Initially Umbrella ordered me to not allow S.T.A.R.S. to intervene in order to covertly bring the incident under control, but due to the heightened emotions of the citizens, I was forced to dispatch them.
"Lure S.T.A.R.S. into the mansion and eliminate them. Then record the situation and collect combat data of the B.O.W.'s mid-battle."
Among the S.T.A.R.S. teams I first deployed the Bravo Team. They fought valiantly at the expense of their own lives and aided in collecting combat data.
Afterwards I dispatched the Alpha Team to search for the lost Bravo Team. The members of the Alpha Team also fought gallantly, and as expected, died one after another.
There were five survivors among the eleven S.T.A.R.S. members.
From the Alpha Team were Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine and Barry Burton.
And from the Bravo Team was Rebecca Chambers and Enrico Marini.
The time finally came to carry out my plan.
Seizing the opportunity, I would commandeer the Umbrella B.O.W. "Tyrant" as a bargaining chip to join an opposing company.
The combat data of the "Tyrant" was necessary to market it to the opposing company.
The surviving members with their high abilities were ideal for harvesting combat data on the "Tyrant." I slipped in a traitor to lure them to the Tyrant.
The traitor's name was Barry Burton.
He was soft-hearted with a strong sense of justice.
And he cared for his family above all.
It's easy to manipulate such types.
Taking that which we cared for was how.
I miscalculated, Chris and Jill harbored potential beyond my expectations.
But the plan progressed smoothly due to Barry's "work."
Enrico would discover the truth, but wasn't much to take care of.
I diposed of that nuisance and awaited the arrival of the victims Barry would bring to me in the "Tyrant" lab.
I injected a certain virus I obtained from Birkin and used it to temporarily die.
Making Umbrella believe I was dead made it convenient to sell myself to the opposing company.
According to Birkin this virus carried a risk of a state of apparent death but would then resuscitate me and bestow tremendous abilities.
Even risking death was something I contrived in this plan.
As my consciousness faded away I was certain the scheme had succeeded.
My biggest miscalculation in this plan was the "Tyrant" being defeated at the hands of S.T.A.R.S.
I lost my biggest bargaining chip and was forced to change the plan ahead.
I won't allow anyone to interfere with my plan.
It's been that way for a long time and will be for years to come. Eventually I will make the surviving S.T.A.R.S. pay the price.
2 months later
Two months passed since the Mansion Incident.
To establish my position in the new organization I decided to join hands with the female spy Ada Wong, sent to infiltrate Umbrella by the same organization.
According to intelligence from her, the completion of a new virus, the G-Virus, was close at hand within Umbrella.
I knew in my bones that it was William Birkin.
However, Birkin refused to hand the G-Virus to Umbrella.
Birkin was also a fool.
In this situation, Umbrella would kill Birkin and recover the G-Virus.
I decided to launch a plan to procure both Birkin and the G-Virus.
But the Umbrella recovery unit led by HUNK began their maneuvers before my plan.
The cornered Birkin injected himself with the G-Virus and became "G", annihilating the recovery unit.
Rodents soon became vectors, spreading the t-Virus in Raccoon City, and Umbrella faced a worst-case scenario.
The citizens turned into Zombies and this increasing course of destruction befell the town.
Human capabilities were no match against the virus' proliferation.
Frantically trying to conceal the incident, Umbrella deployed a "Tyrant." They planned to eliminate Leon and Claire who were trying to investigate the truth.
In addition, Umbrella Europe deployed a new B.O.W. "Nemesis" to collect combat data, targeting S.T.A.R.S. survivor Jill.
This combat deployment was convenient for us as we also desired to gather information on "Nemesis."
Before long we discovered that Birkin hid his collected research results in his daughter Sherry Birkin's pendant.
While Umbrella was busy covering up the incident we would secure Sherry before they did.
I made Ada sneak in and look for Sherry's whereabouts.
I, a dead man, had to move in the shadows until the end.
A spy's first responsibility is to abandon emotions and execute duties faithfully like a machine.
But frivolous emotions arose within Ada after she worked with Leon S. Kennedy.
These impure feelings were unnecessary in the plan.
Anyway, we had to hurry.
As I imagined, the impurities created a rift in the plan. While Ada cornered Leon, who'd received the G-Virus from Sherry, she gave in to her frivolous emotions and chose her own death.
It would've been easy to abandon Ada, but she may have still been of some use.
I couldn't let her die now.
We dealt with recovering the pendant Leon threw away but it was scooped up before us by HUNK, the only survivor of Umbrella's recovery unit.
However we still had a move.
The plan would be completed without issue if I took back Birkin, who'd become "G", as a test subject. We would acquire his combat data from attacking Leon and Claire.
Birkin was defeated by Leon and Claire, but we succeeded in recovering the G-Virus from a tissue fragment of his remaining body.
The next morning, the U.S. Government bombed Raccoon City under the political cover of "preventing the spread of virus infection" and Raccoon City was lost to the darkness of history.
Afterwards, Claire went to Europe alone looking for her brother Chris, while Leon and Sherry were placed in government custody.
That Birkin didn't overlook details, I'm certain he still hid something in his daughter.
Soon, I will acquire everything.

I bet the actors who were in the original RE movie and VA’s never thought they’d be so sought after 20 years later haha. The cast from that infamous (and hilariously awesome) video are so awesome and performed amazingly…no sarcasm. I laughed so f’n hard at Wesker’s actor and his pose of crossing his arms with a cocky head nod. The fact the original VA was game to read this in character, is pure Amazingness. I’ll take this Wesker, over whatever they’re doing with the remakes. Wesker has an ambiguous English-ish accent not trying to be a bad ass. Someone mind contacting the original actor again and we’ll crowdfund a re-do of the REmake with him instead of the terrible VA they had for that game. I forgot how bad it was until watching this, I played CV and 5 to death so I only associate him with the ambiguous British-ish accent.

Umbrella Corps already confirmed he’s alive, Capcom was very adamant that that game is canon
@@skinnymulligan5210 and no one cares for anything that came from that game because its the worst spin off in the series before Operation Raccoon City. That whole game feels like an awful joke, and RE verse probably wont be that much better.

RE4 remake should currently just be explored as a concept at Capcom's offices. It's gonna HAVE to be RE: CVX remade first, or so many people will get pissed off. It's the pinnacle of the older style of games and one of THE best in the series (a lot of ppl also consider RE4 to be as well, but it came after; we can't just pass over CVX, esp. when it just needs the obvious treatment the other remakes got).
Besides, there's not much to be done for a REmake 4. It already pioneered TPS game design and a lot of the modernity we see in the games after it -- including Two-make and Three-make.
My guess is that they're going to go a hybrid TPS/FPS route, and add in extra scenes to help RE4 make a little more sense storywise (or just seem more hashed out, esp. with Ashley lacking any meaningful dialogue to make more of a presence). They already set a standard for reimagined remakes, so they'll have to lower that standard and make a straight up faithful adaptation - which would not do RE4 justice but WOULD be the safer thing to do considering how impactful it was - or they'll have to put the effort in and spend more time reinventing the wheel. Hence my theories, and hence why I think REmake 4 should not be trending like this. Don't get hopes up for any imminent release.

I was always under the impression that Wesker shot Enrico, and that those were his boots in the shadows, no? Wesker specifically says here that he ''had to eliminate Enrico'', but then says '' I used Barry to get to him''.. what does he mean by that?
He used Barry to cover his movements and lead Jill off the beaten path. Something like that. The shot was Wesker, as Jill remarks on the shot’s insane accuracy.
