An ongoing study utilizing the most recent scientific data on dinosaur vocalizations. Sounds are produced by myself and digitally workshopped from modern non-syrinx based avian reptiles. Using skull and olfactory cavity proportions, one can attempt to recreate the flow of sound, frequency, and volume of each animal. Much study is required for each particular species, and often several phases are trashed due to general unlikelihood. The final results are based on acute representations of what sounds would be most comfortable and base-line for each animal. Video also includes other reptiles, even though they are much more difficult to produce accurately.

Aim: To be more sophisticated than Julia Clarke's rendition, which included: combining the booming call of the Eurasian bittern with the growling vocalizations of the Chinese crocodile, and then scaling it up to T-rex’s estimated size (about 12 meters or 40 feet long), what they got was a ominous low rumble. - เกม

@@jeffwaynetripod169 You should rewrite your question so that it makes sense if you want someone to answer you. Just a suggestion.
Will you make more of these?
The only thing i don’t like about this video is that you used an image of pteranodon for pterodactylus, and sinosauropteryx for compsognathus. Besides that, this is perfect.

What's terrifying about some of these vocalizations is you wouldn't just hear them, you would also feel them throughout your body like standing next to a loud speaker at a concert or festival.
The thing about these calls is the fact that they're in theory going in and out of the average human's audible range. Which means you'll feel it in your bones, and in your brains. It will literally shake you to the core, even at a large distance, as even with extreme weather events the world was a lot more silent

@@GamingPiratesTwitchDefinitely made me think of a Loon
A loon, probably
It's a slowed loon call
its a slowed loon call !! They live in lakes in Canada and the northern US :] I hear them all the time where I live
Oh and fun fact: They rarely go on land because their legs are placed farther back on their body, so they can barely walk. And their bones are denser then most other birds because it helps them to dive, so they can't fly as well as other birds can. They have to consistently flap their wings instead of gliding and need a "running start" to get in the air !!

This is eerily beautiful and peaceful. I picture myself being around the herbivores going about their day, slowly going from place to place, sipping a bit of water, grazing a bit, vocalizing with their peers from time to time, freezing for a few second after hearing a carnivore far away, resuming their business soon after. The atmosphere would be so peaceful and calm. I would just never go in open water, as I would instantly die as soon as I would hear the marine dinosaurs.
Herbivores are the most tempered and dangerous bud
Bro made a whole roleplay out of some sounds.
No marine dinosaurs exist, I think you mean the mososaurs... But yea these sounds are very cool and it would be amazing to LIVE with these
Whenever I hear the Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus sound I think of some dinosaur in a forest and then from the darkness, the low humming. That would be SCARY.
"Marine dinosaurs" there weren't really any marine dinosaurs, only semi aquatic ones but not fully aquatic
Interesting to note, that cursed hiss-screeching sound of the Spinosaurus made my guinea pig jump and he started looking around and hid, so I think he thought there was a predator stalking him. He didn't react to any of the other sounds while I was watching this video, so that one probably sounded the most like a modern day predatory bird to a prey species.
And here i was thinking that domesticated guinea pigs had lost their survival instinct
its fascinating. my cat also reacted more to the spinosaurus than anything else exept the t-rex and mosasaurus. maybe the spinosaurus is just the scarriest sounding dinosaur. according to two random peoples pets.
My dog just stayed snoozing the whole time...he wasn't letting anything disturb nap time.
@adambullock6999 Nah, your dog is just a boss. He knows he's top dog and these sounds won't scare him.
Dilophosaurus has a really beautiful Sound.
uh...nooooo. it has a TERRIFYING SOUND. That wouldnt be something humans would ever want to hear. They get bigger then tigers and have horror style venomous bites/could have spat like mambas.
It'd haunt you after a few attacked a village- even if it was just to target the meat heavy pack animals humans would likely herd/shepherd.
@@VelanestarThey have no scarf and no poison
@@kimjiccc they likely hunted in packs, with a venomous neurotoxic bite- not too dissimilar to the Komodo dragon who has CRISP, kallikrein, and natriuretic toxins in its bite.
@@Velanestar
There is not much evidence for venom or pack hunting. Those came from the idea that dilo had a weak bite, but we now know they actually had rather strong jaws and could hunt without help from other dinos or venom.
Also it is fine to disagree with others' opinions, but you do not have to treat yours like it is a fact.
@@VelanestarActually the Dilophosaurus never had any type of Venom inside it's mouth meaning it's not venomous, in fact when it haunts it's prays it kills them by it's strong byte.
In the film "Jurassic Park" There is a scene where it's shown that the Dilophosaurus has a venomous byte but that's actually innacurate or more likely fake like the fact that people think that the tyrannosaurus Rex never had feathers but it always had feathers.

My top 3 of the creepiest ones, if i would hear them without seeing anything would be
3. Argentinosaurus(18:42), The beginning sounds like an alien ship is coming towards you and with this gurgle sound before he screams. Like Sirene head would walk out of the dark woods
2. Dilophosaurus (6:48), beautiful melody behind a deadly animal, nothing more to say
1. Mosasaurus (31:26). imagine being on a boat alone, fishing and then you hear that sound. I would just accept my fate before pooping in my pants
What about liopleurodon
0. Brachiosaurus
These Mesozoic creature sounds are way more terrifying than the ones in documentaries and movies.
The scariest sounding creatures were the Gorgosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Tyrannosaurus, Dryptosaurus, Spinosaurus, and Utahraptor.
Funny fact, the Tyrannosaurus' tendum drum (think that's what it is, it picks up on sound wavelengths many other creatures with less developed ear drums can't hear, like how we can sense something in a horror movie from very specific audio cues that normally can never be heard outright) is over 4x more developed, so that would make your brain and everything start vibrating specifically with the "deep breathing" sound which is more of a hungered threatening call. Aka since they were cannibalistic if it came to extreme situations like the extinction blasts and seconds after, that's the last thing a T-Rex baby could hear before being eaten by it's mom. (Learned this from the Sue exhibit in National Denver Museum as well as years of research from other scientists.)
@@anglepsycho😳
Gorgosaurus sounds like what pop culture thinks T Rex sounds like, and that's terrifying.
Ceratosaurus sounds like I walked into the wrong cave, and now I'm gonna get my sh*t rocked.
Dilophosaurus...how do I put this delicately...hearing this noise would undoubtedly make my sh*t my pants at mach 10.
Quetzelcoatlus sounds EXACTLY as I pictured it...a terrifying screech betraying its lack of a soul and higher morals.
Tyrannosaurus might sound funny to you until you remember what's making that noise. You'd honestly feel it before you're even able to perceive it, cause the next sensation after feeling it involves dismemberment.
Dryptosaurus...I have no words, what can I even say to that????
Spinosaurus sounds like a ghostly wail, hearing that would immediately turn my ass 180 degrees.
And Utahraptor...look just because it's one of my favorite dinosaurs does NOT mean I would appreciate being dismembered by Shaq sized raptors as they laugh at my great misfortune.

To think larynxs have been found blows my mind. I greatly appreciate the effort put into producing these sounds, as well as, the amount of research. That is abudantly clear! I love being able to feel some lizard brain section light up in some primal fight or flight reaction. Genetic memory of sorts kicking in! Plus, the visuals you've created to size comparisons is very reminiscent of those cool Dinosaur books one would read as a child that helped put context of how impressively built these creatures were. Why the moai?

Bro imagine hearing the Utah raptor noise in a forest that be terrifying- I really hope these noises go into a dinosaur game or something in the future
Man, I've only recently found your videos on the sounds of dinosaurs, and after watching all of these, I just thought about how cool it would be to have an RTS about dinosaurs, adapt into videogame format the habits, sizes and areas where specific types of dinosaur would coexist and use as unit quotes these accurate reconstructed sounds, I think it would be so cool
I'm going to have this playing on loop for the rest of my life, what you do is so clever and so cool!!! Thank you for all your hard work
I think these would be a lot scarier than the roars from Jurassic Park if used correctly, some are odd yes, but I don't doubt something could work out, alongside it actually surprises me that some JP/JW minor sounds actually feel similar
Even if these are actually just edited bird sounds it’s still cool to think about
They're a bit more complex than that. But in essence, they're modulated bird vocals, yes.
It might've been worth putting Ankylosaurus and carnotaurus at the final part of the video if it was possible, because they did live at more or less at 66 million years ago.
Yeahhh, the Cretaceous videos weren't made with that kind of continuity in mind so the three parts are totally a mixed back. I considered fixing that, but it would have taken several days and possibly a week or two to do and it seemed odd to just put all that work in to rearrange something. I originally planned to add interesting facts about each animal - I even had a whole pop-up animation finished with some facts - but my rendering program was REALLY struggling with this for some reason. I think it was the length and my harddrive space, but it took me a whole day to render this because it kept failing.
@@StudioMod fair point. A lotta programs are an absolute pain to use. It was probably hard enough as it was actually creating the sounds of these animals, so going through the process to re-editing it all would be even more work.
Fantastic project either way. I'm definitely looking forward to see what you make next.
What a fantastic video! Because of the excellent combination of the art as well as the vocalizations, I now think that I will only be able to see compsognathus as dino-squirrels 🐿😍!

The photo used for compsognathus is actually a life restoration of a close relative of it called sinosauropteryx, which lived in the same fossil formation as microraptor and yutyrannus. Would totally recommend learning more about it, the amount of info we know about its biology is incredible!

I love this so much. I think my favorite is how very corvid-like the Utahraptor sounds, makes me wonder if they might have been capable of mimicry. T. Rex is my favorite dinosaur but Utahraptor has a special place in my heart
The way you used sounds from animals living today, Then edited the sound for it to closely resemble the Dinosaurs is just amazing to think about. It would be amazing to see you help make Dinisaur Games have more accurate Sounding Dinosaurs. A game I play a lot called Path of Titans has good sounding but I know they could ve better sounding dinosaurs like how you made these sound real close the real sounds of those Dinosaurs.
They have modding tools, it's possible someone could take some inspiration and add them to the game.
These sound so much more scary than Jurassic park noises
These are actually great backgrounds noise! Not only do they fascinate my little dinosaur nerd brain but in some odd sort of way they’re both otherworldly and kinda relaxing. My favorite one is Dilophosaurus, it’s so hauntingly beautiful.
Prestoauchus is terrifying, not because it sounds like a toilet but it's just a larger and more dangerous alligator
This gives me such visceral feelings and I love it. It's genuinely unsettling to imagine hearing some of these sounds. Imagine being alone and vulnerable and exposed and you just hear sounds like this all around you. It would be genuine nightmare fuel.

33:05 I can only off myself for what is to take me if not would be much, much worse
This comment right here!! 😂 it made me feel like I was watching with a friend and agreeing on the feels of the sounds. Honestly I’d off myself too. I wouldn’t last for 💩💩💩
Bro liopleurodon sounds like an f1 car lmao.
And its scary
If an F1 car and a blue whale banged and had a baby 😂
I like the way they sound quiet just like actual animals
Absolutely love your work. My partner and i fall asleep to these (or put them on for background noise). I like to daydream and imagine what kind of clues fossils gave you to make these
I know I can't be the only one interested in some underrated creatures like from the synapsid era..... I know those must be incredibly hard to research sounds for since they're old as dirt but I'd love to hear them if possible. You've done so much good work!
This compilation is a dream come true. I'm in love with your work !
Its funny how realistically a Triceratops sounds more like a TRex in movies and vica versa.
lol yea
28:04
He looks like my great-grandfather when he has WWII nightmares...
Thank you for going back in time to record all of this
No video could do justice of how loud an aregentinosaurus would be
thanks for putting a human next to the dinosaurs for size comparison! you didn't have to, since this video is about audio and not visuals, but you did anyway. props to you, buddy :)
The fact that they echo makes it almost eerie in a way- 10/10 would recommend
This video is amazing. I love how the power of speculation, as we will never truly know how these creatures communicated, brings them to life. Great video.
The 🐐 once again graces our eardrums with dinosaur sounds
My cat is actually reacting to these noises. I don’t know what it is about them.
Your cat is probably reacting to it since these sounds were made using some bird vocalizations. My cat reacts to birds and bird noises many times. Pretty cool actually!
For the last few years, I’ve had an on going story I come up with to go to sleep to, and it involves a society of people trying to survive dinosaurs. These noises are really gonna bring it to life now!
the only thing i know is that, these sounds are way scarier than in the holyhood movies
Therizinosaurus 24:04 is haunting....
why is this relaxing to me? intriguing for sure
Is it over? Thank you for this videos, gave me long nights talking and listening it with my boyfriend, we both love so much dinosaurs and these sounds were just a portal to imagination and nightmares I must say hahah amazing job!
What I love about this is that the dinosaurs here sound like actual animals like this is how you’d expect them to sound like when they’re actually real. The audio is so beautiful and peaceful as if like you were alive during that time.
I enjoyed these dinosaur sounds a lot. Thank you.
Cymbospondylus sounds like a particle accelerator, and Dilophosaurus drops a sick beat
those are somehow so calming i always come back to them i need them on spotify great work!!
This is fake, i don´t say it, a lot of paleontologist says it.
got the dilophosaurus sounding like dmc ambience 😭😭😭
I deeply love what you have done to make these drawings and remains come to life with these vibrant sounds. It makes my brain melt as I sense my instincts shoot up to be aware. I love every bit of it and while i had many sounds i consider quite soothing some sure were otherworldly in a way i couldn't explain. Also i loved the ones that sound like someone recorded taking a shit that made me really think about how close we really are yet so far away from these animals, also made me laugh a bit
The Dryptosaurus sounds💀
I would love for you to go in depth about what sounds, information, or ideas you used to come up with the sounds of these dinosaurs. It's a great way for us to shake our understandings that are so shaped by popular media that mostly focused on "rule of cool" over scientific accuracy. (Don't get me wrong, the JP movies were my childhood and I cherish them, but 100% accurate portrayals of dinosaurs? No they were not!)
Amazing how much work you guys did for this
Never stop. I’m
Binging all of these
