Struck GOLD! - Metal Detecting a 1720s House Finds GOLD, Old Coins, & did I say GOLD!

When we metal detect two or three hundred year old houses there are certain things we are hopeful will be in the ground. Old US large cents, early buttons of all types, a mix of colonial and pre-Victorian relics, and pretty much anything part of everyday life from way back then. But some things like gold and diamonds are so rarely found at old houses that it’s not even on our radar. Well take a guess what we’re lucky enough to find this week, all of the above! We find the old coins, we find early buttons, we find those relics, and we even find that GOLD and DIamonds!
