On "My Car Story" we're in Burr Ridge IL on 4-25-18 at the Corvette Mike Midwest
We're looking at a 1961 Chevrolet Chevy Corvette Convertible in Honduras Maroon Paint. The engine 283 (cubic inch) CI and 230 (horse power) HP. This restored car has looks brand new as if it just came off the showroom floor in 1961.
We’re talking with Bill Kotzum, one of the Owners of Corvette Mike Midwest. He’s had the dealership since 2004. The company is located at 60 Shore Drive, Burr Ridge, IL 60527 who sells Corvettes.

Hi Lou & Bill: When I was a kid, I recall building plastic models of this Corvette. I believe they were Revell / Side bar, kids today are know longer building plastic model and Revell is going out of business. Is this true? Cool tour and ride.😎 Gary

Thanks, Lou…… nice overview of a **1961… great year & engines (* kind of remembering that **283 FUELIE engine of 315++/HP:: supposedly a noisy , difficult engine(?)…….. that was about the era , I was starting , hanging around Service Stations/Car Hang outs….. Oddly, I bought a *1961 Convertible , in 1965: Ford GALAXIE 352/4BBL/ Dual exh/ auto(;RED, WHITE top)….. would have been ecstatic for Corvette Convert: generally much more expensive & insurances, etc……

I hope so. It would be much more fun to drive the streets of gold than to walk the streets of gold. I would imagine that, in heaven, cars would never break down, they'd never crash, they'd drive like a dream, and there would be no road rage. How great would that be!
