    I was sitting here cutting out paint skins to make magnets and watching TH-cam videos when this video was suggested as one I might enjoy!! Lol
    I did, very much! You fixed that problem with the similar colours quickly! And OMG!! I understand about not needing more ideas in your head!!! 🤣🤯

    Those look really cool. I put down plastic underneath my paintings and use the run off paint for making jewelry too. I haven’t made magnets yet, but I may need to try those too.

    I poured some acrylic paint onto a vinyl sheet on Tuesday and as of today I'm not able to remove it it's the type of vinyl sheet that you peel away I don't know if that has anything to do with it but the colors were just beautiful it was my second acrylic pour for acrylic skins and it's just killing me that I can't peel it off of the vinyl sheet

    I have a question. pouring the acrylic paint in a 5 ounce container, how much floetrol and water should I be putting in it? I mean a 5 ounce cup how much paint, water and floetrol would go in the cup?

    Could you use a hole puncher to cut the holes out of the skins

  • @mayawillan496

    I have never done this before so i am wondering how thick OR thin should skins be for making jewelry/magnets please....

  • @gloriagiefer3013
    @gloriagiefer3013 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Where did you get your cups with lids
    I have used parchment paper and I've noticed after the pouring that it wrinkles up a little bit I really wish I could find some freezer paper does that wrinkle up any after you've poured

    The small curved scissors will allow you to cut even closer so you may not need the knife. If you have good ones (scissors), they will easily cut through Diamond Glaze. 3D Crystal Lacquer will also work for this, and you should also have good luck with other acrylic based glazes and glues. I used Polycrylic to glue mine to wood pieces. Your white (tray?) would be a good display item for magnets. And one last idea - a paper punch will work to cut out your skins if they're not super thin or super thick. If you have one, give it a try. Worst case, it won't work.

      +Martha D I have a scrapbook paper punch and it works, but it is too big. I kind of like using the knife, it's calming, like whittling! 🤣

    I'm planning on making some jewelry using pouring. I have some ceramic pieces I ordered and am having some bezels made for some pendants I'm doing. This gives me alot of ideas.

    I saw someone using cuticle scissors to cut around the outside. The curved blades looked like it worked great.

    Funny that I found this video first thing this morning on my video feed. I am in the process of making necklaces but one thing I had an issue with was finding the glass domes to fit the pendants. Can you put a link to where you found yours? I am just using resin this time but love the look of the glass better! I love your videos specially when you decide you don't like what you are doing and go a whole different way with what you started with!

    I'm getting tiny air bubbles 2 weeks after my skins adhere to the glass. None are there when applying and I press gently. Any advise?

    • @AnnOsborne

      What type of glue and how dry are the skins?

  • @rk100364
    @rk100364 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I press my glass domes down on the skin and then hold it in place and just cut around it, then glue it into the base, then glue the dome on. Dont need the knife at all.
    Different approaches, same results. lol

    Love this!!! Which ball and chain did you order?

    • @AnnOsborne

      +Cathy Speerly I got them on Amazon. The chain is just a ball chain. I wasn't thrilled with the pendant quality, so I just ordered heavier ones off etsy. I also ordered more in all black which looked neat.

      +cathy slyman currently they are on a sheet of poster board.

      I lay mine on wax paper in a couple layers and then roll it up into a tube.
      Makes them easier to store out of the way.
