    Hello my dear!! You NAILED it and you put sooooo much more effort into it than I did that I could not stop staring st the screen! So far I totally failed at using skins but now I will challenge myself for the next year to come up with something as pretty. You did remarkably and the ornaments turned out super pretty!!
    For your concern about the video length...not a deal at all. I felt entertained all way through and did not mind that time. Thanks for your time and effort and for afterall making me feel bad not having tried harder on my attempt 😂😂 😂

      This was a blast to do Michael so I am glad that you challenged me. I was admittedly scared at first, but it has opened me up to so many other things. I am just delighted that you liked the final result and I'm happy too that the video length was ok. I doubt I'll make more that long though... Editing it took soooooooo long!
      About your "skin" failure... Um, you might want to practice a little ... There might be one on the endlessly difficult final exam of ... Oh wait... No... I meant the little itty bitty baby challenge I'm giving you in a couple of weeks... No really it'll be a breeze... A short walk in the park... NOT!!! 😂😄
      Many hugs my friend... You are making TH-cam all the more fun!!😘😘

      oh yes if there was not that editing part...the earth editing started at 7 in the morning with doing the voiceover and finally done to be rendered it was about 10...for a 15 minute video...I thought it will get better once I get a feeling for it BUT it doesn't as more and more ideas pop into ones mind to include which makes it take even longer *rolling eyes*....but well...it's fun and people love it :)

    • @MyriamsNature
      @MyriamsNature  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's nice to know I'm not alone in my editing box of horrors. It took me two days to edit that 32 minute thing... I was soooooo sick of hearing myself talk!! 😄😂 I totally relate to the hope that it would get easier only to find out it doesn't. In a way it's good that I'm limited to what my old iPod can do because if I had "serious" equipment I'd be way more creative with the videos and that would just take longer! 😄 I still have to try a voiceover just to see if it could help. If people only knew! 😊

    OH MY GOODNESS. Ok. so I found you while researching alcohol ink art, which I've become crazed about. Now you show me THIS?! Woman, you're going to get me divorced - LOL! My Amazon cart keeps growing. I need to look into this "skins" stuff. I'm thinking, could you do alcohol ink on dried acrylic skin? Could you imagine the awesome nail designs you could do?! Holy cow... soooo excited. Thank you so much for filming your work, honestly and without apology... It is very helpful for us newbies. ♥

    Glorious! For ornaments with partial external coverage, consider coating the interior of the ball with paint ... white, black, or a pretty metallic that works well with the exterior skin. My head IS spinning with possibilities! Bless you for the inspiration.

    My husband just popped in to see what I was watching and he was mesmerized by what you were doing. Then before heading out to go fishing he said, "Wow, there's a lot of really talented people out there!" Neither of us are artists but enjoy those who create and teach others so generously. Thank you for sharing and maybe one day he and I could try this together. God Bless

    I have always had to use a razor blade to get the skin off. Also if its been on there for a bit longer, you sometimes have to soak them in water. But that also creates wrinkles. You can smooth them out most the time. Im just lettinh you all know its not ALWAYS simple. These are some of the things ya need to know. Also you have to have floetrol in the paint because that gives it the elastic which make sit pliable. Ok ? Ok then , get with it ! She does a great job with hers. Very beautifully done

    Hi Myriam,
    I just love this video, Christmas is the best holiday ever. All of your ornaments came out great, I would use everyone of them on my tree. I have not done a pour yet just for skins. That will be totally new to me. But, really I just started getting in the pouring thing, so it will be a while before I start doing skins. But when I am ready, I know where to go to learn. Right to you, my friend. Thank you for the lesson. I really love watching and learning from you. You have not been on in a few weeks, I hope everything is okay. Miss you.

      very lovely demo. I am going to try again today. I got new acrylic ink and Bombay ink. I tried my hardest on the first dendrite demo. o could not get anything to work so now with new products and fresh alcohol I'm going to give it another try. if it comes out I'll try and post a picture for you if not.. you'll hear screams from the high desert in California

    • @MyriamsNature
      @MyriamsNature  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My fingers are so crossed for you Onna. The ink and alcohol part is pretty much the same for everyone... What can vary is the white paint. Make sure it's thinned to about the consistency of maple syrup and spread out evenly before trying to make fractals. What I do to check is put down a tiny amount of the white paint mix (the size of a quarter ) and try to make a fractal on it. If it works I know I'm ready to proceed with more paint. I eagerly await your results. 😊💕 Good luck!!

    Fantastic, due to you doing this so amazingly......I need to have a go, they looked like fantastic snowflakes on the first one, the second was like marble the last was like cutting gem stone in half then polishing it, they were all beautiful. Thank you for all of this.....hopefully at least one tree in my house in the Uk will be with baubles made like this.......only thing I can’t think of using is the freezer paper you used, I’ve never seen it over here, or the tinsel stuff you used, we as far as I’ve seen only have strings of tinsel, totally different! any ideas welcome! You nailed this a definite winner. My mind is racing now...I’ve just liked, subbed and shared Hugs xxxAnnxxx

    Hi, Myriam. Thanks so much for writing back - and so quickly too! I really appreciate it. I am not sure what you mean by writing in a new stream. If this isn't it, please let me know how to do it so it will be easier for you. I actually have seen both of the 2 videos more than twice. I agree with you. I don't think it's the acrylic inks. I do think it's the white paint, and it also may be that the point on my squeeze bottle is too wide and as you mentioned, the amount of alcohol is too much to make the fractals. BTW, I am using 91% isopropyl alcohol.
    It's funny, we all have our challenges. I had no trouble getting cells and I know some people did. I am having trouble getting fractals and others don't. I am going to get some tiles and try them. I am not one to give up. I am interested in doing so many different things! I will come back to this. I am a member of a painting group that meets twice a week. We work on our own things and in our chosen mediums (or is it media?) I am working in oils and have been painting landscapes. At home, in my studio, I have been working in acrylics and have been pouring and also painting night scenes as wells as galaxies and nebulae! I watch LOTS of videos on these various techniques and I am blown away by how many talented people there really are, all over the world! You are not only talented but are a very giving person and you are an excellent teacher! Your sense of humour shines through as you instruct and it makes the experience so delightful! I will keep you posted on my endeavours as I continue to watch yours! Thanks again for all you do for us. It really makes this fun adventure even better! 😊🎨

      Ha... I was the same way! It's like chips... You can't just have one. After a while you start looking at things and thinking "hmmm, I wonder if I can pour on THAT??” 😀 Thank you Gerry. I wish you continued fun.

    I just discovered you recently and every video is imparts an abundance of new information. Thank you. The Q I have is, why alcohol. I know some use glue because it binds the paint but I missed the part on why alcohol. Thank you in advance.

      First of all thank you so much for your kind comment… I’m really happy that the channel is proving useful.
      I only used alcohol when making the fractals. It has nothing to do with helping the paint bind or be thinned in this case… It’s just what causes the fractals to form when mixed with the inks. I hope that helps a bit. 😊💕
