***magnet supplies are in my AMAZON STORE, not etsy. And the glue is DIAMOND GLAZE. Sooo many bloopers in this one. It is a cabochon, not carbachons like I keep calling it 😂😂😂😂 .....never said I was perfect! But the idea is still the same! You guys get the idea! Here is how I make my magnets! Hope you guys enjoy! What else do you guys do with your left over skins?
BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm still new to your channel - how did you get those skins to begin with? Did you just do an acrylic pour on a silicone mat, or is there something else involved I missed? Would it work on just plastic wrap (like for food), and peel off when dry? Were these test-pours before doing them on a canvas? So much curiosity here 😜 🐬✌💕
@@indigoblue4me It is the actual run off from the paintings that I do that sits on that mat and I peel them off you can use plastic but it has to lay very flat or else your skins will get wrinkled and they're not as useful that way that's why I loved the silicone mat because it peels off very easily
I make coasters with the skins and also magnets like these. The magnets I don't sell just give them as thank you gift to the people who buy my paintings. You can do alot of things with the skins like jewellery and bookmarks which can save your day if you do vendor events.
Oh dear God! You are a blessing! These are beautiful and easy to make. I bow to God for your love in showing us. I can use these for a fundraiser for my own cancer issues. Blessings unto you. Thank you so much for this video! These could be made into beautiful unique earrings!! Just wow! Much success to you now and forever!
With the help of your video I made my first magnets (and pendants) indeed easy to make and a great joy! It gives me such great pleasure & joy in moving the cabochon over the skin and looking for the best composition. Every time when I find the right composition I have a smile on my face. With the pendant this even goes twice, first time when glueing the skin to the cabochon and second time when glueing the cabochon on the pendant. I have used most of the skin of my overspill for this first batch. And very happy that these beautiful coincidental mini pours our also find a good use I need to start pouring again asap since I have used most of my overspill. Happy painter 😜
Holes! Those colander pours are so pretty & the holes can just be looked at as a part of the piece. I dunno, I'm weird but I still vote holes. Oh, oh!!! I've got an idea: there ARE spaces between the holes - you could put a small piece of the between the holes behind the holes (I hope that makes sense).
👋 Molly. Thank you for your time to show us how you make your magnets. Quite liking the Bloopers too 😜. Agree we can’t and I don’t want to be perfect all the time, might as well be a bloody 🤖.
Just looking out for a crafty friend. It's not "carba"chones". Its "caba" "shawns". Giggling, hope that helps. I hear it all the time as a lapadarist. Can be tricky I guess. Have a great day. By the watt it's a really good practice to clean your cabs first. Then use gloves to add adhesive and apply to skins. Sometimes you'll find smudges/ finger prints etc. after it's all done setting up and it's frustrating. 🥴 I love how the arched glass magnifies the details of the skins. It's fun to let small kids finger paint etc. Then create these for Christmas gifts.
Molly, I love the magnets that I purchased from you. So, I decided to make some for my friends and family. I was attaching them the hard way and kept getting air bubbles. Thanks for the video. I do appreciate your videos.
Molly you should try to remember to just pull the Collander holes togetherwhen it’s wet with a tooth pick or dot pick so you can use all of it once it dries!!!
Molly these are beautiful! The cabochons almost give it a magnifying view of these! I’ve been meaning to try these, now I most definitely will! Fantastic tutorial! Thanks for sharing! 🌹💐🥰
These magnets are gorgeous, Molly. I just moved to my new house and have boxes everywhere!...lol, but as soon I can set my painting area in the basement, I will show you a couple of paintings I made with your techniques in mind. Be well 💜 Eva.
Cool idea. You can use glossy silver spray paint on the back of the larger cabochons then apply a thin layer of resin or UV resin after gluing the skins to make cute little unbreakable mirrors.
Cabochon is actually French for a smooth domed gem. It is usually used in jewellery. I thought you might like that bit of information. I have a LARGE collection of both polished and raw semi-precious and gem stones. LOL I love these ideas for the magnets. They are so pretty and you're reusing what was left over. I would love to see lighter coloured colander pours on the back of the black magnets. I think they would be absolutely cool and beautiful.
Sorry I’m late to the party. I was cooking my soon-to-be world famous beer cheese sauce. 🤤 I love those magnets! I don’t have any use for magnets but you did say you also had coasters so I’ll check those out.
Anyone else think of Goldmember from Austin Powers when he saves his skin? Sorry I had to say it lol!! These are so cool, thanks for this video, it's great!!
Michelle Edhouse at McE Art on TH-cam dips the cabochons in the wet [skin] drips with the Bluestick and a popsicle stick. When they are dry, she puts them in matching bezels for pendants and pulls. Another way to use skins! This was a good video and I liked how you showed us so we could see your excitement. Thank you.
hi Molly I just ordered my set of stuff to get started making some I got the 18mm stuff thanks. I do need something to keep me busy this winter. Here in the mountains of Wyoming.
This video was super helpful… I just wonder what is the best thing to let your paint skins dry on? I can’t wait to try this now. I was doing it the hard way and dipping them and it was a disaster. Lol.
So I just got to the part of your video it describe how to do it with dipping and I was trying to hold it with my fingers and do it and so it was very messy and I had paint all on the outside that I had to get off and it was just not a good deal… So I have to try it with that stick and the putty and see if that helps
Your magnets are beautiful! I would love to try these and sell at Pop-up markets. Can you advise how much to charge each or also for a set? I am thinking buyers will want to choose individually instead of making sets when selling in person.

Thanks for sharing, I can’t wait to make some
This is Awesome! Just in time to start making gifts for Christmas!! Thank you!! 💕🏜
Thanks for the tutorial - how do you make the paint skins? Can you just use acrylic paint w/o adding all kinds of stuff to them?
Just got some in the mail about to give it a go !
What glue are you using, Molly? I love your fridge magnets! Your very fun to watch craft too!
Its diamond glaze

I used your link earlier this week for the LOLIVEFE. I can’t wait for it to arrive! 🌺
Beautiful! Maybe I missed it, are those ceramic magnets?
Beautiful!!! You could try coasters too, or if there is a way to do phone covers that would awesome too :)
I do tons of coasters!
Never done phone covers though that's cool!

I use a silicone mat
I use the e6000 for my magnets. Do you like the diamond glaze Better? What size cabachon do you use.? Very nice.
How do you make the skins? beautiful work.
hi Molly...these are fab. I'm thinking. you could make these into amazing wrist cuffs/bracelets.
So I just got to the part of your video it describe how to do it with dipping and I was trying to hold it with my fingers and do it and so it was very messy and I had paint all on the outside that I had to get off and it was just not a good deal… So I have to try it with that stick and the putty and see if that helps
Ty for sharing your technique. I looked in amazon shop but wasn’t sure what to order in cabachons that come in the purple packaging.
They are so cool. What is the glue that you use? Is it the same for over the skin as it is to glue the magnet?
I may have missed it but what adhesive are you using to attach the skins and do you use the same to attach the magnet?
Your magnets are beautiful! I would love to try these and sell at Pop-up markets. Can you advise how much to charge each or also for a set? I am thinking buyers will want to choose individually instead of making sets when selling in person.
