Power chords, pinch harmonics, heavy ride symbol, perfect chorus harmony, great guitar solo (with awesome doubling); I was born in 1982 and my oldest sister was born in 1972, it is LITERALLY impossible for me not to love the 80’s.

I have to tell people all the time when discussing anything 80’s that the energy of that decade may never be matched, it was totally off the hook. Sad thing is we left the 70’s that had so much absolutely great music and flowed right into the 80’s where so much was just Killer!
Then enter the 90’s and through most of the decade all I wanted to do was slit my wrists and gag on a spoon, extreme sarcasm here.
The only other time in the 20’th century that had crazy energy was the Roaring Twenties and the social economics were very much alike, so to speak.
The sky was the limit. It’s a sad truth that time goes on whether we like it or not.
But I always have great nostalgia thinking back to my teenage and early twenties years, thankfully a lot was recorded and we can still enjoy it 30-40 years later. 😎

So true about an enormous amount of talent spread throughout the ’80’s ‘Hair Metal’ scene. Not every band had full on musically blessed musicians’, and soooo many guitarists took what EVH & Randy Rhodes were doing & just did their own thing with it. Adrian Vandenberg, Phil Collen, Vivian Campbell, Rudy Schenker, Eddie Ojeda, C.C. Deville, Richie Sambora, and SOOOO many others. I graduated HS in 1984… so I grew up on, lived through, continue to reminisce about all of that stuff all the time. An amazing piece of pop metal. Accessible and catchy yet still heavy. This used to be one of my karaoke jams. A thing which should be remembered is that Ratt were one of the early bands playing what would later be termed hair or glam metal. Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P, Motley Crue and Dokken are some other examples of "proto" hair metal (even though most of the early bands later adopted the full hair metal style, for better or worse). All that stuff was coming out in the 81 - 85 era right alongside Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, Ozzy, Scorpions, Schenker, Accept, etc. Guns N Roses first record didn't come out until 1986, three years after the first Ratt album (which included Round and Round).

I saw Ratt with Lita Ford in a very small venue. It was like a High School auditorium almost. I threw a drumstick I had up on the stage and right before it hit the stage floor, lead singer Stephen Pearcy swiped it up and held it for a second and smiled as he tossed it to the side.

Saw this band as an opening act to headliners. Dudes were a music releasing machine. Between 84 to 88, missing only 87, they put an album out each year. Releasing those albums and also touring for each album was insane. Their stage shows were over the top pyros and lights...loved it. One of the bad ass bands from that era.

For me, the most interesting fact about Ratt is the lead singer is the nephew of Milton Berle. He was a major comedian, credited with not only becoming the first tv star, but was responsible for thousands of tvs being sold to first time owners. Also, he was rumored for having (not being) the biggest member in Hollywood, like 3rd leg big. The song? For me B+.

Worked front (stage) security on their 1st tour (Green Bay)... Small ballroom, no stage. They used tipped over cafeteria tables as divider between crowd. Halfway into 2nd song, everything collapsed, we got the guys safely off stage and after a 10 minute break and lecture to the audience the rest of the show went great. i knew then, they had a big hit with this one. Nice guys too, thanked us up and down at the bus when they were fighting off the women.

Ratt was just one of the bands that made the 80s so fun. Tawny Kitaen R.I.P. MEMORY ETERNAL, is on the cover of this album. She was David Coverdale's wife, in major music videos for Whitesnake and one of the most popular 80s music video girls along side Bobbie Brown and others. I'm so glad you hit this song, Ratt, Cinderella, Dokken, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, so many amazing 80s bands you guys!! Glam Rock was huge, long hair on these musicians was a must, along with leather everything, very competitive decade. I can't believe how Alex has come around to 80s gems, yayyyyyy!!!
