If someone has a substance abuse problem like sniffing (which is pretty much the only type of drugs on Reserve) they work as a community to rehabilitate them. She should worry more about those in her own family running to the Cartel for their fix.

As a former DOI employee I worked with many Native American people. They are no different than any other family, most are very close. However, the damage done by breaking up families by sending them to remote boarding schools for the last 120 years can not be overlooked. The discrimination they face in many states, particularly in the States that have reservations is very real. Try building a good family when you are very poor, and can not get a good job. Fighting forest fires, one of our most dangerous jobs, is the main job opportunity for tribal members. Governors in most states are not friends with the Indians.

I was planning on visiting South Dakota this summer but I’ve changed my mind. I will spend my money elsewhere.
In the past I have made jokes about her and calling her out with names like " Puppy Killer" , but I think I was wrong to do that . I think maybe there is really something wrong with her ( Psychologically ) . It is not her job to judge what is going on inside these Tribal Nations , that is between The US Government and The Tribal Nations .

I moved out of SD 30 years ago, but I still have family there. Noem has given me lots of ammunition to tease them. They all say they won't vote for her again, but I'm not sure they aren't racist themselves. I remember SD.
I've been to three reservations when visiting friends there and it's been at least 5 years since I have been in the USA. I have seen poverty, alcoholism, despair and death there but you can see that in other countries as well including the US. What they don't need is a Governor who hasn't a clue on offering solutions and cooperation but would rather use her position to cause division between the state and the Tribes. Those are only two reasons they don't want her wandering around on tribal lands. And the rest of the nation knows what kind of person she is by now.
