- It's been five years since we last joined Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 and crew out trackside. Earlier this year, it was announced that the Engine 4014 would return to our home turf once again and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet up with the train. Join our production team as we reunite with the Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 and the Steam Team from Council Bluffs, Iowa to St. Louis, Missouri during The Heartland of America Tour starting on September 3-10. As we followed the train out of Council Bluffs on the first day, be sure to look out for a surprise guest onboard the train. Special thanks to Union Pacific and the Steam Team for making the trip possible! With that being said, join our crew as we follow Big Boy 4014 through the Midwest. Enjoy the video!

Thank you, Andrew, and your production crew! I enjoyed watching this video of Big Boy 401 traveling from Council Bluffs, Iowa to the St. Louis, Missouri area. You found locations those other videographers did not seek out for their videos. I was hoping that you would have shown how Big Boy 4014 made its way onto the former Chicago & Eastern Illinois trackage at B&O Tower, but that location may not be accessible. It would have been nice to see Big Boy 4 pass through Dolton Junction. You did catch the train in Chicago Heights, Illinois as it crossed the former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern tracks that are now owned by Canadian National. (Posted 15 September 2024 at 2158 CDT.)
Fantastic multi-day chase! I would've thought you'd get diamond shots at Chicago Heights and Momence, but you guys did not disappoint as always!
Awesome video! We were able to chase 4014 in Desoto MO and end in Poplar Bluff MO. Our intention was to do a two day chase, but a family member became I’ll. We had a banner with us that we took that read “Here from South Carolina 2 day chase”. We got an acknowledgement from Ed in Arcadia with a point/ thumbs up and a whistle! Awesome day for us sept 12th 2024

Jay Leno @ 4:10. He made an entire video on the Big Boy for the Jay Leno's garage TH-cam channel.
@44:20 the articulation of the front engine on 4014 is in full display. You can see it (the off set) on curves if you know what to look for but, in that shot you can see the front engine going back and forth crossing the junction. If someone ever makes a video about how an articulated locomotive works, that is the sequence to illustrate it perfectly.
I hope they return in their 160 anniversary again
