I honestly feel Battletech is the perfect representation of the American mecha style to show the world.
It really leans into the "tank with legs" approach we tend to use, but at the same time still builds off it to make a fantastical (but grounded) sci-fi universe
I agree, and I think - BT is the only one of that kind. Everything else is jap mecha

@@MosiahWhite BattleTech is not chicken legs, there r lots of mechs with human-like legs. Titanfall is a joke compare to BT rich lore and variety of units.
The chicken walker Battlemechs _are_ sweet though. Gimme the right Catapult or Cataphract variant and I can make myself happy. If you let me spring for a Marauder, Mad Dog or a Timber Wolf though...

Funnily enough, a ton of early Battletech designs are sourced directly from the Macross anime hence all the lawsuits.
From software took some cues from it when making Armored Core it cause they were fans of the Battletech Central pods

honestly i seriously hope this inspires japanese companies to bring their battletech and mechwarrior variant/equivalent
i want a more "grounded" front mission first person mech game that is not arcady and has weight behind it
games like armored core or the most recent gundam games are just not for me

the orginal dougram tabletop is stragely similar to battletech.

more likely that mechs in MW5 and MWO were too big
mechs like the atlas and annihilator are meant to be no taller than 16 meters ...
in MWO the annihilator feels like it's 20+ meters tall
most heavy mechs would be around 10 to 12 meters in height

there is no way to play as Kurita, or any other house only clan mechs and being in clan smoke jaguar. the mechs are from MWO with a paint job dont waste your time. oh ya for some reason Kurtia is evil bad guys with cartoon mustaches t
