What a great series this is! I'm enjoying it immensely - every one of them. About fifteen years ago I completely refurbished the thumbhole stock of a 1967 Anschutz 1407 target rifle - without using anything but hand-tools in the form of a cork sanding block and a couple of pieces of dowel for the many complex curved bits. It was a real PITA, but still looks beautiful, so you can see how much I appreciate watching somebody whose skills a greater than mine!
Very talented bloke. Am slowly learning that just like milling and turning metal woodworking seems to be the same , most importantly getting the set up spot on!
It's surprising how many stocks are a bit wobbly in places. The radius on the underside the fore end was offset a way to the left. Cheek riser next. got some cool tips for that too.
Thougherly enjoyed this tutorial. Very professional and it shows. Love all of your videos and always look forward to seeing the next one. Thank you very much. 👍
Thats awesome thanks for watching 😀 It's a nice little 200 that this stock is getting. There's a load of mods, some you might have seen and some you most definitely won't have.
@@tillysgunstocks Hi there,I’m gonna have it rat works tuned, just can’t make my mind up on the full tune ( tench ref full service screw cut barrel or go full out hunter tune, I would be very interested in your thoughts & experience, cheers 👍
I'd have a chat with Phil and the lads, see what they suggest for your Intended uses. It's been a few years since I've done much with the 200 so I'm not sure on the latest revision to the tunes. This one runs a bsa ultra air cylinder and tench bsa reg modified to fit the firing valve. It allows more cylinder length options and possibility of a 250bar fill. This one is tiny with an ultra se cylinder which is 165mm long and the barrel is cut down to 30cm. I'd definitely have the barrel screw cut, decent slide on mods are hard to find nowdays.
Great work! And I am still out here trying to figure out how to mesure my break barrell stock thickness to know if I can put some amazon sling studs in there haha
