Great job on the video Melissa, to let you know that I have used the memory wire cutters to cut 8 gauge round wire dead soft material. They work pretty good. I have had the same pair for 6 years now, and I still use it for memory wire too!
@@MelissaMuir I wouldn't have thought about it either. I ran out of saw blades at the time and I needed a piece of 8 gauge round wire. To my surprise I cut the wire! I probably cut more 10 gauge wire than 8 gauge round wire. I try to share information with everyone!
I originally invested in Lindstrom pliers and cutters but after using them I tired of the plastic springs they use. They are constantly flying off. I have a couple of Tronex and really prefer them. Any future replacements will be Tronex.
Greetings Melissa, thank you for your videos. After watching, I realize I need to up date and add a few things. I have only watched a couple of your videos, so I do not know if you have addressed this issue. In order to cut cost when making my earrings, the wire I use for the beads is 20 gage steel and then I use argentium for the ear wire. I have memory wire cutters however, what type of cutter should I purchase to make the close cut after wrapping to close the loop?
If you are using steel, then the memory wire cutters are the best. You don’t want to use the regular cutters on that wire. For the argentium , I would use a pair of the Tronex cutters. I really like the 5511 or 7511. The difference is their handle length.
convinced me to look at Tronex cutters
mike ma I have had such a great experience with them.

Larry Dallas that is great to know. I wouldn’t have thought of that. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip Larry. I am just getting around to cutting the heavier gauges.
Merry Christmas Melissa
Cory Streat thank you so much.

Hi Melissa
Could you make video about everything about soldering
Thanks God bless
Good information I am going to try a pair of Tronex the springs broke after 10 years on my Lindstrom's so a good excuse to buy another pair
pijnto I love my Tronex, As you can see. 😜 I have only had the one pair of Lindstrom, but I love it so much.

Thank you, very informative.
Which one would work on stainless steel headpins (0.7mm thickness)?
@@lpodverde You would need a hard wire cutter like a memory wire cutter.
I've ruined more than one cutter using it for an incorrect application. Really like the heavy duty Lindstom in the video.
Would you suggest annealing 6 or 8 gauge wire before cutting?
Yes you might want to anneal the wire before you cut it
Yes. I would suggest that you do anneal it.
Links don't work. Thanks for tips.
Thanks for the heads up. ❤️ The links must have moved. I will do my best to fix them
