I don’t know that I would trust it on a concrete block wall like that because it still is just foam. Although I would imagine you might be able to coded in some type of clear Apoxsee, perhaps and maybe do some kind of a shell. Although I’m not 100% sure how to accomplish that Best.

It’s fairly durable. But if I was going to use it as like a coating on the wall let’s say I lived in an apartment and I wanted to have that fake brick look, I would definitely put something over it some type of Apoxsee coding before I painted it. I won’t say it chips easily, but it is something that can be chipped if you bump up against it furniture hits it that type of thing. But for standard run of the mill set design, it’s been holding up perfectly.
I love it. It's beautiful. I'm going to try this for my pantry. Its 10' by 5 feet..(prepper lol) and I've rounded the doorway to get an old cella. Buying the tile or wallpaper were overpriced and none -challenging....wish me luck....
Will this finish be okay if I use this for the walls of a basketball gym and they they may get hit by a ball? I only need to paint them white. What is the minimum thickness for the XPS foam as they can be quite pricey where I live?
I would not trust this in that type of environment. I’m certain if, before you painted it, you could probably put some type of fiberglass coating on it to help protect it, but even then I think it might be a risk. That XPS foam is really soft not crazy soft but you could certainly put a dent in it by tapping it gently with your fist.
Nice work.. I have a above ground pool. I have usually used outdoor green carpet laid on top of not great shape concrete patio as a cushion protective base.. pool about 9'x6' Carpet 12'x12'... Nice play area for the kids.. carpets old n needs replaced. It's EXPENSIVE and last 2yrs or so. I'm thinking creative and thrifty. Also it would look cool.. I first got the idea from the foam wall panels they sell. And I've been looking for someone who's used this outdoors. The 4x8 sheet is good idea. Kinda labor intensive, but might be an alright idea.. Have any thoughts?
my only concern would be the weather on the paint I used - you'd most likely need to use something more robust to withstand the weather. Next you'd have to be sure it's affixed to something sturdy as well as supported properly.... but if I were to do it, I'd probably use 1/2" OSB rated for outdoor use, cut the bricks out of foam and use mastic to adhere the bricks. Then paint accordingly, using outdoor paint.
