  • In this video I’ll show you how to make XPS Foam look like wood. Age distressed wood, to be exact. This is the second part of my set design video, in the last episode I turned a 4x8 XPS foam panel into a faux brick wall. Today we’re adding more pieces to the design. If you enjoyed the brick wall video, you are NOT going to want to miss this!

      Thanks! I’ve got a brick video as well, if you find a need.

    That’s great. I was hoping to use it in conjunction with my XPS stone effect and this should work fine for me. I can’t wait to try it now!

    Awesome video. Just what I was looking for to make for a project I'm doing that needs to be lite weight.

    Is there a coating to put on them to make them hard, so they dont dent

    • @PrimalEdge

      The one I did does not have a coating on it, but there are a lot of options out there that you can use to coat them to protect.

    Could this be mounted on a ceiling? Perhaps create interlocking panels by cutting the interlocking sides as short/long boards?

    • @PrimalEdge
      @PrimalEdge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! It’s extremely lightweight so you wouldn’t really have to worry about it pull it off the ceiling. Although if I was gonna do that over a large area I would probably try to make the panels maybe 2‘ x 5‘ at best. If you try to do a really huge 4 x 8 sheet and interlock those you’re likely to come across warping.

    how did you mount these to your wall they look awesome !! great vid

    • @PrimalEdge
      @PrimalEdge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!! Believe it or not, I used T pins!! They’re so lightweight it takes very little to adhere them. Both sides are finished ( The other side is fake brick) but if you leave it just as foam, I’ll bet you could use those 3M stickers

      @@PrimalEdge Oh wow that is an easy adhere! Thank you for the quick reply aswell. I am trying to do the same thing except morel like cobble medieval and either want to adhere to the wall. Or have a u-shaped of wood behind the panel so that I can mount lightweight lanterns to the wood and stay on a desk. Awesome tutorial Im going to binge the rest of your channel haha !

      I really like that idea. I’m trying to figure out if I should do a video on that. Because in my head I’m thinking like an internal castle wall cobblestone wall and having some type of lantern attached to it. I don’t know something like that.
