Top tier has a serious problem atm called "F-14 Tomcat". I just got that thing and even stock, it simply PLAYS with anything that dares dogfight you. Not to mention the insanely powerful radar that's very effective even with Aim-7Es. 10.3 in any country is a nightmare to play atm due to the constant uptiers and having to face that thing all the time. The constant downtiers at 10.3 seem to be over. F-14 needs to go to 11.7 ASAP...
or even above 11.7. The F14 literally dictates how a match will be fought and gives his whole team an advantage when the other team have to hit the deck.
@@carsandgaming1734 Even something like 12.0 would already give top/higher tiers a lot of breathing room. But we know they won't do that. F-14 at 11.7 is more realistic, and I believe it should happen pretty soon. Damn thing stomps everything...

Ayo same here, got my f-14 3 days ago and it just slapped from the moment I got flares. EC maps especially on it are a breeze.
@@halolime117 mig29 with r-27er is basically the only counter to a properly flown f-14, you have to joust it headon with the ER and abuse the ER's speed to kill.
I like how gaijin said they don’t release top tier premiums, while releasing the ML at .3 br below top tier.
They are also moving the MLD and MLA up to rank 8 so even within Gaijin’s arbitrary rules, the ML series are considered top tier.
I was always worried about facing MLDs once I got to top tier...until I started annihilating them on dogfights with a stock F-14. I've no idea what the hell it's still doing at 11.3

Yeah seems like they don't understand that premiums affect the match maker heavily. Mig-23ML will ruin USSR teams but if you look at USA, they have the A-6E, you won't see those at 11.7, so their teams are entirely tech tree planes. Not to mention how the F-14A is still 11.3 despite being just as good as the 11.7's and miles better than all the other 11.3's. I am interested in how the win rates are going for each country cause right now I guarantee USA is dominating. Like seriously, if you compare the F-5C and the A-6E, please tell me how one of them is rank 6 and one of them is rank 7, the F-5C is simply the better plane. But at least the A-6E isn't a literal copy of the tech tree planes. Imagine how upset USA mains would get if there was an F-14A premium rank 7, identical to the one in the tech tree. Like just the fact that they are putting the Mig-23MLD to rank 8 to make the grind harder, but keeping the Mig-23ML at rank 7 at the same BR is just one of the biggest cash grabs of the update.

I've played the MLA quite a bit and am familiar with how it flies. I've grinded out essentially the entire German and American tree, maybe when it's 50% off I might get the ML to start grinding USSR.
If you are good in the MLA you will like the 23ML.

Bought this thing (with your link obv), and, man, I've never seen such short matches. I spent quite a bit of time (also hairs on my butt) trying to get R-24R to work, but then I switched to R-24T, and it's such a joy to sneak up on F-16s and F-14s that don't suspect anything!

@@ia6980 R-24R is a radar-guided missile, so you need to lock your enemy before you can shoot it; it is best used in head-ons. The R-24T is a long-range IR missile, which can be fired without a radar lock (better launch from behind), preventing the triggering of the enemy's RWR. I advise you to search for guides on YT about radar types, controls, and missiles in WT, and then apply what you've learned in the game.

I’ve had the unfortunate luck of receiving a talisman on the i185 m71 could you please make a video on it, I struggle to consistently get kills as it’s controls are very stiff but still managed just barely reversing people and stalling japs and brits. At least the F-4E and F-5E were counterable, even with the MiG-23M having bugged flight performance, worse CMs, and worse missiles.

@@kommandantkillcode Yea, there are a lot of cases where comments get ghosted because of bad word usage. Still Mig-21 vs F-4 was a better balance match than what we have right now

I slapped a talisman on Mig-21 SMT during sales so it can helps me grind Mig-29 and it is remarkably good because it was very effective and quick too.

Hello Defyn, just want ask you and chat opinion. What br in jet section is the best to play right now? Top br is overplayed by f16 and f14, 11 is a meat bag for top tier, 10.3 is a meat bag for new premiums and 9.7-8.7 is still a meat bag for a10 and su25. Is it only early jets that can be played right now?

I think the "issue" with your logo being offset is not an issue with only yours. It happens with ALL logos. Set it to "two side". One side will be perfectly straight and the other one will be offset and rotated a bit. Love the Logo though!
could you make a film about how swiped wings work? I think it could be helpful for people who have just started getting into jets.

Swept wings allow for the plane to be both fast like a dart, and a low speed turner. All depends on how the wings are swept. If you want to be a mig 21, sweep it up to 100%. If you want to try and be a A6M5, set it 0%. If you want mix, 50%. The deal.
Just be warned, some planes have SEMI-AUTO and MANUAL wingsweep.. Both these modes are manual, it's just that SEMI-AUTO has speed limits. Meaning you cannot fully fold/unfold your wings until you go above or below a certain speed. Manual doesnt have that.
Hey Defyn, do you have to play the MLD more passively than other 11.3s? I’ve been having serious trouble making it work, although I did only just unlock the R-24s.
You kind of do, but only because you can't dictate any BVR fights simply due to the superior overall BVR capability of NATO teams. Fly in a steady climb while notching and go defensive if you have to - wait until the main furball forms and then close in picking priority targets off with r24T's from above, then you can get more aggressive and try to wrench victory from the enemy. It's a bit of a trickier playstyle and with the f16's helping the tomcats out it probably made it a good bit harder but you should find a groove eventually. Once u get to the mig29 it gets a bit easier as you can actually dictate the engagements in the BVR space a bit, though due to the quantity of missiles on NATO you still have to be careful as on average they will win the opening BVR trades most matches anyway, leaving you to carry the game the same as before with MLD.

I remember years ago when i checked the profile of some people with "God of War" and they had like 9000 kills with tier 1 german 20mm tanks (pre nerf). Just stat padding against new players.
If you were just getting into jets aka never flown one before because of the grind required. What premium would you buy to learn it. (cos it looks rather different to props)
How do you dodge or nodge the f16 missiles when higher up and close to it. Seems like it is almost always a kill / a death for me
I bought a mig23ml after disappointing(skill issue) on the f14"toptier king" and it is much better in every area except BVR (you can still turn around and no radar missile will reach you) so BVR has no meaning in ARB to me. And after 132 battles my KD is 3+ and WR58% loadout-2xR24R+2xR60M+1xR13M1
It doesn’t pull as much AoA either but if that mattered at top tier I wouldn’t go 2 to 1 in the F4J.
This thing is the reason I stopped playing the Mig-29 and started playing the F-14 again😅

Yeah. I planned on grinding mostly the Mig-29 while doing the 40k for the Tornado stars. But the teams got so bad I did it in a mix of F-14/F16 and Pokryshkin's P-39N-0. Fun fact, Iin some games I researched more towards the MLD with the P-39 as in many Mig-23ML games where my team insta died xD

Bravo!! Mig 29 is unplayable, is a good plane but the armament aren't competitive. Today with the F14 i killed 8 player in only one match; with Mig 29 for 8 kill i need play 15 match 😂

Defyn has it ever happend to you where the R24R missile just flies to narnia even when the enermy plane in a head-on is neither deploying contermeasures nor notching? I've also had similar problems with my radar in MTI mode.... we going head-on and somehow both my radar and the missile loses lock on the target -_-

bought the ml to grind out the russian tech tree, having a 65% win rate in the mla with a 4kd ive had no problem basically finishing the russian tech tree, well worth it if you have experience already playing top tier
I am having a terrible time with the R24Ts, that lock on the mig29 at 10:02 breaking is my avg experience. Any time I got a kill with an R24T, an R60M could've done it just as well. Any time an enemy is out of range (of the R60) and I use the 24T, it just breaks lock. Having the R24Rs to lock anyone above 1km and having an easy effective head-on range of 10km+ is just so much better imo. Am I just using the 24Ts wrong?
My r24t’s go for teammates behind the enemy im shooting at…
Try using IRST locks to slave your 24T's seeker.
Also try to use the heat seeking missiles out of your opponent's field of view, so that they don't expect your missile to be coming. Sure R-24Ts are infamous for their range and motor burn time, but they will see it coming if you just launch it directly infront of you, and if they are already popping flares for other missiles from your teammate, it will also break your missile's lock.
@@Ken-no5ip yeah that's the problem. How chaotic and fast these top tier matches go (especially during the event but I doubt anything has changed), if you shoot them at their "intended" range, the enemy either flares because of five other missles that come in, or he is already dead of said missiles. Or you are in R60 range anyway. That's why I changed to the R24Rs. At least then you can break lock and don't kill a teammate that's in the furball suddenly.
R24T lock range got nerfed significantly. Its gone from being able to lock on side aspect at ~10km to ~5km now.
It's weird they don't allow a mix of R and Ts, 80s Soviet doctrine was to fire off one of each to improve kill probability

Hey DEFYN I’m new to top tier and am struggling with dealing with radar missiles that are far superior to what I’m used to at 10.3. Any tips?
Try notching them. If a radar missile is coming from the front then turn to the left or right until the RWR warning disappears. If you don't have RWR it's harder but still doable. This also works from other angles but it needs a bit of practice. It kind of looks like a dog that shows you it's belly, just that in this case your jet shows it's belly to the missile while turning left or right into it at around 45° sometimes more than that.
What the other guy said. You have to go defensive when they shoot at you first in the head on. Keep flying towards the guy and 90% of the time you will die.
So its not necessary to use the manual wing sweep control on these things and just leave it in auto?
The teams for top tier Russia is pure pain sometimes especially when ur last alive in the MiG-29, half the time there’s nothing you can when you try and get into position and instantly lose it to a sparrow and no team to pressure the F-16 or 14.

When I play the ML I’m absolutely certain that I’m getting 2 kills. The 24R is just an insanely good missile for the BR.

Person who is nearly ready to get the MiG-9 here: So i in theory should be absolute trash at top tier, as i don't even have a jet in the TT as of now, but idk if it's this plane or my own skill, but i find this thing a joy to fly. Took me a few games to figure out the kinks of Top Tier but now i get 2-3 kills each game with relative ease, so if you are confident you can fly this bad boy i reccomend it, especcially on sale, great plane.

I love this plane, and how its ambush tactic works. It's so fun to scream in from the heavens and shove that R-24 into the F-14A whose pilot is too busy with his face merged with the radar screen to even notice you.

Within the right range, yes, it is all aspect, but much more flareable and easy to see coming however.

How do you get bot lobbies? I keep getting people who have infinite flares and just spam them. 7 matches 1 missile kill with this thing.

Great to see this plane get the respect it deserves. At the time, it was maligned by rabid anti-communists, usually sex deprieved fat, thatcher/reagan types (fat was rare then), grasping at the canard that it was expensive to maintain (it wasn't; it's just the third-world moocher states it was sold to couldn't service it), it was poorly maneuverable--it was more than the premier western craft at the time, f4e, or that its radar was bad, the A had the mig21 radar as the saphire took some time to develop.
The Warsaw Pact variants had good avionics, radar and superior missiles, with the ML, MLD version having good maneurverability, when played to its strengths could take on an F16, which didn't have BVr until the 1990s and could give a good run to fourth generation planes, like F15, F14.
Even today, if used it hit and run tactics, it could have some value against NATO.

I use r24r with src mti under 10km when the enemy is flying high or for heads. For bvr I use src ld and launch at 20km so they can't notch fast enough.
This thing is absolutely amazing tbh, I can regularly shit on f-16s with it. And I didn't even have to grind for it.

Land in airfield, wait till your plane rearms and repairs, J out, choose the loadout and there you go
Once u repair. U can hold J 3 seconds and u will return to the screen u see before spawn. U can change ur loadout there. This is not a troll.
J out on runway with your plane undamaged and it allows you to respawn with a different loadout.

@@dylanthompson6186 as defyn only plays air rb, it truly is, groundforces sorta ruined that title, personally at over 200k because of being a tanker mostly. Sidenote, each gamemode has its own multiplier. rb is x2 meaning he 'only' needed 50000

SU25K for multiple ways to grind, as you can also destroy bases for an SL flow then after use your R60Ms on the main furball
