What was an even bigger slap in the face was when the harrier gr1 was at 9.3. SRAAM would just shitstorm on anything. And no plane had flares back then. For this reason I can't feel bad about gr1 players anymore.

My gripe with this plane is that they add a really interesting and somewhat iconic jet and yet again it’s only premium and not in the tech tree…. Hopefully they add in a different variety later but still… like america doesn’t have enough jet premiums already.

This thing is god tier in ground RB (if the skies are uncontested) because it has a really good targeting pod and guided bombs
If you play WT to shoot stationary npc targets i have no idea how you're having fun. At this point just load up a single player mission
The guided bombs are useless against a semi competent team since AA with sams is so common at this br

Took me 34 games(41% winrate) with this thing to unlock the F16ADF while making some decent cash at the same time, pretty alright grinder imo.
Honestly, yes. I've only had a handful of aces in my Air RB times, less than 10, and I have every US, UK, German, Russian, French, and Japanese jet. Over 5 of those aces are from the Tomcat.
Running 3 9L's and a gunpod on the TRAM, I had 2 aces within 15 games or so. The enemies are just so oblivious. It's a huge RP and SL printer. It's absolutely baffling how I view this thing as a better air supremacy platform than a ground striker.
For comparison it took me 65 games (62% winrate) with the J-7E (3.1 K/D) to unlock the F-16MLU
@@Gamma052 The perfect high tier game involves the entire enemy team dying EXCEPT for three+ of their F-5Cs. Then you mop them all up with all aspect missiles in head-ons at your leisure.

I love this plane, but because of nostalgia for the childhood game "Flight of the Intruder", which I played on the Amiga.
Despite the high price, I bought it and fly it on the simulation. It's quite OK. And it's faster than the A-10 ;)

I'm personally LOVING the A-6E both in ground and air RB. I take 3 sidewinders, 1 gunpod and a 2000 lb bomb in air RB and 4x GBU-12, 1x GBU-10 and 2x AIM-9L in ground RB.

@@gansior4744 The GBU-12's come on dual racks. Currently I'm running 6 GBU-12s with 1 GBU 10 and 1 sidewinder in ground RB for that extra boom.

9.7 is just an unplayable BR range just because of the AIM-9L
it would be so much easier if it was actually possible to evade it, but no, it'll pull a 180 for you instead
I wish they would add the A6E SWIP to the tree at 10.3 with Laser and IR Mavericks, Harpoons, Shrikes/standard ARMs, Clusters, Walley 2 ERs, and the other weapons

Would be nice if gaijin stopped adding boring premiums that take zero skill while offering at least two guaranteed kills.
Not only do these strike aircraft completely dominate the fighter aircraft of their tier, once the new players unlock their favorite jet they can’t even play them well because all they know is fly at low speed and press space bar on planes without flares.

If grind was so awful these types of planes wouldn't be a problem
But also, if I have 2-3 rank 7 to grind out I would rather do it in braindead bomber than proper fighter, at least I can watch Netflix or whatever while I'm half afk grinding out bases

Could you doing a bit on Kfir Canard? Been test flying it and have been wondering if the 10.7 BR means it'll get downtiers more. Was watching a clip by Joob of the J-35XS at 10.7 and he said that it didn't get uptiers much at all.
The Kfir canard is best to do bomb runs & then try to take out a couple aircraft. It’s a nice plane but all delta wings (angry Doritos) bleed speed very bad. I’m my opinion it’s worth the purchase if you want to grind the Israeli tech tree but if you’re aiming for the F16 then I wouldn’t go for the Netz.

I dont know what snail is smoking but, a10 with 9L was pain. But now a plane going 0.9 mach with 4 aim9L is a mistake in 9.7-10.0. Half of the planes doesnt have flares

teammate flying straight at you is the worst. it happened to me earlier today in the F-4J. the F-5C wanted me to help but he was between me and the enemy flying straight towards me so i couldn't get a lock.
Honestly the a6 and a10 should both be 11.0. People fly in, get 2-3 free kills because half the people they face don’t have flares and die because the plane has shit flight performance. Planes like the F4C are unplayable. Uptier? R60Ms, aim9H/L, magic 2, you’re fucked. Downtier? R60Ms and aim9Ls, you’re fucked
I got into a dogfight with a Mig-21 today with full flaps and airbrakes he started to stall out during our turn, and his turning circle opened up dramatically, allowing me to get the lock with my aim-9s. This plane is a sleeper dogfighter 100%. I ended that game with 5 kills acing the tram easily.
Except it's not... as long as someone isnt dumb enough to get into a slow turnfight with you, the A6E is basically a large sitting duck.
@@ragemachinist It flies at a cool 600mph which really ISN'T particularly slow. It just has abysmal acceleration. So staying in a fight is fairly simple. Also baiting highly maneuverable fighters into dumping energy is like 90% of the game. Like...?
I used to love the GR.1 back in the day, even after the move in BR but now it feels unplayable with these insane all aspect missiles at 10.0. I really hope they give it flares and ideally a small bump to engine performance but it is just picking up dust in my hangar until then.
Basically exactly the GR3 lmao. That’s literally what you described. Only issue with the GR3 is it’s stupidly high repair cost, and I guess it’s not a premium so there’s that.

I love the A6E TRAM for CAS. Space climb above SPAA range and carry 5 small laser guided bombs with 2 AIM-9Ls. Spanks ground targets very well.
Also in Air Battles I find it better to carry all 4 AIM-9Ls and no gun. Can also carry 3 of the 1000lb bombs for base damage before firing off the missiles for air kills.
A6E TRAM can turn hard under 300mph with flaps down. It'll surprise people for sure.

It's very fun to fly a Mig-21 with R3s and no flares. I love when I get snipes at 6km by an A-6E my team hadn't even spotted. I love dying with 0 hits in 2/3 of games. It's awesome.
In my experience almost everyone and their mom has a bunch of flares and the 9Ls are useless unless the target is not paying attention.

If you ever have to face this thing, or anything that can sling all aspect missiles at this low of a BR… YOU MUST FACE THEM HEAD ON TO DODGE THE MISSILE. EVEN WITH FLARES IT CAN GET YOU. As someone trying to grind the mirage 2k before it moves to rank 8, the pain this plane creates in my soul when I face it is worse than any other in this game. Let’s put planes from the 50’s against 60’s missiles 🤡 -gaijin

Dude, I am playing with the A5C, and is impossible to dodge the missiles from A-6E TRAM, can you tell how to dodge it ? I just turn of the afterburn, turn hard e drop flares, and the missile just hit me !!

I went head on with one of these things and took a missile in f4s.
Just got the MiG-29 today and it’s very nice to own and use but the stock grind is horrible, I GE’d the flares because I’m not playing 11.7 without any, and I can’t do anything at long range engagement so if a F-14 or 16 sees me I’m dead because there’s nothing I can launch back.
If he's chasing you down all the way you stay notched all the way until the merge, then you use your HMD and better flight performance and spank them in the dogfight. Won't work in RB though, because if you start turning with one guy a third guy will kill you every time. Works great in Sim though.
i love the A10 and A6tram spam i try to play the mig21S and its a pain in the ass every time fighting them

I carry 3 Aim-9Ls, and 5000lbs of bombs. Always destroy a zone and manage to kill at least a couple of Su25s or Yak38s or A4Es that are om their way to bomb my teams zones

What I do is try to climb up high behind them and then dive on them because usually their to stupid to notice you and your missiles till it’s to late. Then try nkt the overshoot cos they’ll just missile u

@@ProdigalSisyphus The MF is the exact same thing just without the ugly fuel tank spin behind the cockpit.
So it should play the same - just a little bit lighter at max fuel.
I have the whole USSR tree spaded but I did this with SMT 2 years ago when flares weren't that common.
I've had a few wing rip issues in matches that i had a real hard time reproducing in test flights. I know im not the best pilot but nobody else seems to mention it as an issue. Curious if anyone else has these issues with the A6.
I had the same, with some heavy ordinance on your wing tips if you go fast and pull a lot of G's you will rip off a wing. What's even more interesting is that usually the plane counts as destroyed, while you can still fly it without half a wing. I've had my wing torn off, still delivered payload to the base and returned to repair and rearm - all while someone on the enemy team got credit for shooting me down. It's a really weird plane.
@@ragemachinist i had someone else suggest a lighter fuel load to mitigate weight. That did seem to fix most of my issues and I haven't had many rips since. I was used to taking a little more and dealing with afterburners but since it doesn't have any, the minimum load is always more than enough

It depends on the plane it’s fired at. The top tiers are much more susceptible to the Aim-9L’s CM resistance because their engine temps are very high, and their engines have huge profiles.

Problem is all these youtubers can pull as many Gs as they want. Meanwhile us normal people pull 4 for 4 seconds and our screen gets dark. Kind of hard to do anything let alone get kills and dogfight that way.

You can check If is a bot by looking on the scoreboard, If the "player action" command doesn't show up next to his name its a bot, and i highly doubt that a bot will pop smoke, It was probably a AFK guy.
There are bots that use your normal account
They just fly the plane out for you to grind rp while you're at work, it's pretty common at this tier
They're very often like 900 matches with 15 kills
