I would not recommend that.. the bike will look ugly… this is not cruiser bike like meteor or super meteor wherr even if u add the back rest it will look good and the riding position will help it in case of interceptor 650 the position is upright with rear set foot pegs so having a back rest for rider doesn’t help

if you do long trips or daily more than 20km only then go fo touring seat, if not stock should suffice you,
The problem with these seats are they are very slim n narrow, if you want wider seats only then after market seats will help you.
Go to any local shop they will make a good one in lesser price buying online like (sahara seats) will cost 40 to 50% more.

Interceptor 650 can be ridden like duke 390 also and like cruiser also.

Large windscreen and a tubeless system is a much needed change in interceptor because the aftermarket puncture solutions are pretty rubbish.

    • @shaik_rides
      @shaik_rides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I buy your point, however, it depends on the usage... if you are frequent traveler and do a lot of off roading then yes you need windscreen and alloy wheels that makes interceptor a tubeless one..
But if you are occasional traveller and use bike for city roads n for daily commute then the stock should be fine.
Remind you the stock tyres are tubless since they are spoke wheels tube is been used with these tyres.

I am looking for a bike.
I will be riding 15 -20 km daily in city conditions with odd 50 km at weekend.
Occasionally I may travel 200 km.
For the long rides, I will be accompanied by my better half in the pillion and my kid of 10 years.
Can I consider interceptor as an option or should I go with classic 350.
For me classic has become to much common.
Also share your thoughts on the heating issues in city traffic.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @shaik_rides
      @shaik_rides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Sisir,
Thanks for the question, It is very difficult to nit pick and say the bike for your needs as other factors do come in picture.
interceptor 650 is not family friendly or pillion friendly as it has upswept exhaust n the pillion foot rest is little rear set, it will do the job but not that comfortably, you will have to some modifications to suit your family comfort. The biggest positive of having interceptor 650 is that it has more power as it is twin cylinder and when u go highways you can be in a speed of 120kmph all day and the bike wont wont trouble you for anything also the price factor. Yes, it tends to heat up in city traffic if you ride bumper to bumper traffic as it is oil cooled only with twin cylinder.
Coming to your needs… any bike of 250 cc and above should do your job comfortably, modren bikes like dominor, duke, fz250, gixxer 250 in retro style you got classic 350 and meteor 350 , jawa, honda cb 350 all these will do the job. But all have pros n cons respectively.
However my suggestion would be, if you requirement is going fast in highways like you speeding up to 140kmph then dont buy any retro classic bikes, they wont do that with ease.
Modren bikes will do it easily for you if you are looking for performance and speed.
But if you are planning to keep a bike for long time, keeping cost as affordable, reliable, comfort for family and looking top speed of 120km to 130km
Then i would suggest the new classic 350 (next gen one with new engine that launched month back and not old one) and meteor 350.
These bikes have good engine, comfort, suits for daily commute and for weekend rides, looks and service cost is affordable.
Honda cb 350 also does this but i believe the service cost can go high, coming jawa jawa’s engine is not that good compared with cb350 and classic 350.
The retro bikes you cannot rush fast in city or ride aggressively. Like you can do in modren bikes, if you are a calm and mellow rider then go for retro style bikes(with alloy wheels)
If you want speed performance aggressive riding in city then go for modern bikes.
      Hope I answered your question.

@@shaik_rides Thanks for your well explained response.
I have clearly got my answer.
At 45+ I am not going to rush at 120+ speed, rather I am going to enjoy my ride leisurely.
A retro style with adequate comfort will do a lot to me.
Though classic 350 has become too common but it justifies its reliability.
Thanks again for your kind response.

Brother I am planning to buy this bike, and this is going to be my first bike. Any useful inputs i must be weary about, and is this bike supportive for a 1st time rider?

      Hi Lohit,
This bike is more of retro roadster segment, good for daily commute( up n down office 20km) and long rides( need little changes at back for to pillion comfort) and mind you it is 650cc oil n air cooled only so expect little heat in bumper to bumper traffic.
Please see my first video of my youtube i have mentioned good n bad about this bike.
      Adding to this.
Suspension is very plush n soft mean highways it will go butter but in cities where there path holes u will feel every bump n bit of it( u can change suspension from after market)
Tyres are good for current model.
A lot of things have been compromised in matching bikes likes triumph n harley like luxury type
Seat is not that comfortable for 75+ weight
Got to go after market or touring seat..
      But let me tell you..
All your money should be given to that parallel twin engine..
Thats where it has all mattered:
You can ride aggressively or in calm .. it will support you both ways.
For more details watch my first video bro.🙏🏼

@@shaik_rides Thank you so much for your inputs. I have been in love with bikes for a long time. But couldn't either afford or have an opportunity to get one until now. I just watched your video. I think I will go for this bike with the upgrades you suggested. Thanks a lot. Will comment back after I get it in 3 month(waiting time).
