October is the four year anniversary of owning my Interceptor. I remember watching every video on TH-cam I could find, back in 2019, before parting with my money.
I came across your channel when you were just test riding the bike and I've followed you ever since.
    Ride safe

Same here! Uncle Stu played a primary role in deciding to take the plunge.

I have only 5200 miles on my 2020 Interceptor...in Ravishing Red ... (like yourself I have a few in the stable) and recently did my first long distance solo ride. Nearly 2000 miles. I usually avoid the interstate freeway system.... but I wanted to get distance early because I've done that section of the state a few hundred times. Once on the road I set the throttle lock at 75 mph and was amazed.... silky smooth.... Stayed on the interstates for the rest of the day something I could not do with my other 650 twins (older, BSA, Xs650, Triumph) I changed the front sprocket, and it kept rev's at 4000. I've added a few aftermarket items... Hitchcock .... Cravin panniers with matching colors... I think when it comes time to replace the tires.. I'll entertain upgrades to the suspension.... although I have no complaints. If they made an old school twist steering dampener.. I'd buy it. 😎

    Was thinking last night Stuart.
Lots of younger riders about, could you show them how to deal with a puncture on the road on both inner tube and tubeless Tyre's.
Lots of new methods out nowadays I'm told.

Uncle Stu played a major role in my purchasing my INT. I've followed you through your first test drive, rabidly devoured every post you've made since. I feel I owe you thanks for this influence... So, THANK YOU, Stuart Fillingham!

Firstly let me say i absolutely identify with practically all your posts and love (if you can call it that these days without being labelled a weirdo ) your videos. I'm 69 yrs and thought myself a very experience biker having owned only five bikes ( scooters not included) BSA starfire , Honda 250 K4 , Suzuki GT550 , Yamaha XS500 DOHC and a Honda 500 four from 1971 to 1883 when i got married and all the usual happened . I toured all over the country Devon Cornwall wales and Europe and even tried to get to the Innsbruck bike show in 1976 in winter so i know what its like to stop every five miles to warm my hands on the Yamaha's engine but that's another story . I like most of my generation speeded about gunning it everywhere leaning as far as we could at 60 mph into every bend, and showing off to both are friends and motorists thinking that they were impressed instead of the reality which was probably "Bloody hooligans". But lets face it in our teens and early 20s we all did this , the bikes back then actually looked like bikes and not transformers as i heard someone describe them ,i think it could have been you . after giving up bikes to have kids and two marriages, i retired and decided as many do to become a weekend poser and laboured under the false assumption due to the emotional nature of biking that i could pick up where i left off ,so brought a Kawasaki Z900RS as it looked like a real bike . i rode it about three times to get the milk before i realised it was top heavy, too tall for my stunted old age and had a throttle that wished to do a wheelie if you even looked at it ,devastated i felt a coward and ashamed and could not understand why as a young man i could ride these bikes but now they terrified me .well horse power and centre of gravity seemed to be the problem when i stopped crying so test rode a RE Hunter and the shop had trouble getting me off it, to the extent they nearly contacted the local constabulary to retrieve their bike when i disappeared for two hours . Now i own one and have never made a better decision in my life if that's not to melodramatic ,having realised what i was missing back then, plus ,who even the young wants a bike as you say that tries to kill you at every junction and wants (to quote you again) to have the tedium of constant restraint every time you stir the gearbox. please keep up the good work and take care !

Hi Uncle Stu, what i can recommend is to install an adaptive light. I installed one from sw speaker 8970 7" and it is amazing. The LED light is wonderful and specially during the turns everything is very bright and clear. Installing was not a big deal just put out the 7" light housing and replace it without any adapter with the 7" led light. No change of electric wiring just plug and play.

G'day Stuwy. Thoroughly enjoyed he video. I have a very new Interceptor in the "Baker Express" colour code. I ordered the YSS front and rear suspension kits after watching your video on their performance. There are some pretty rough roads in my part of Oz, so hopefully the new suspension will be kinder to my body than the stock units. I have completed a few mods to the bike, and I just love it. I just downsized from an FJR1300 due to medical reasons, and now I can ride with confidence, hopefully for many years to come. I'm 65 years young, medically retired (Aussie Army), and riding for the last 50 odd years. I do envy you having six bikes in the garage, but I will soon have two beautiful classic looking machines to drool over when my 2024 Kawasaki Z900 RS SE arrives in mid September. I have learned so much about the Enfield from watching your channel, and take it from me brother, it's the best one out there. Ride safe and always have fun. Cheers from the land down under.👍👍

Love it. Fitted the DNA stage 2 and the lower version of the enfield precision pipes and thinking about booster plug to maybe clean up some of the crackles and pops. Longride is my next major accessory though.

I purchased the Tripmachine grip wraps after seeing them on your channel. They now come with superglue to finish the end rather than a stub of 3M tape. I was able to cut the end to a taper so that it finished in a natural spiral like the rest of the wrap. I glued my thumb to the wrap (as one does), but it still turned out well. 🙂

I try not to argue with people any more since I have realised they argue from a point of ingnorance. Every time I google what they have quoted they seem to be wrong!! Also when ever I use an example to make a point they obviously dont listen as they tend to start arguing about the example I am using, which is not relavent to the point I am making. By the way I love my Interceptor and will soon be coming up to its 3 year anniversary mine is pretty much standard. Keep up the good work I really enjoy your videos.

Hello Stuart, again, Tod from Oregon, US. This video is going to cost me a few $$! I have already upgraded my Interceptor for the nostalgic image of my younger years. I used a leather wrap on my grips. My RE short flyscreen is enroute . Thank you for all you do for Interceptor enthusiasts.

Good afternoon Stuart. After viewing a recent video, 1st scene in front of a Chapel, and seeing a road sign, Garrison, Richmond etc, I had to contact you again. Last May/June I spent 2.5 weeks on the Moors living in a Methodist Chapel acoss the A71 from Scaling Dam. Fox and Hounds in Dalehouse was my local pub. I toured the whole area from Saltburn to Scarborough/ York north to Middlesbrough an elsewhere. I had not been back to the UK since '57 as an 11yr old. So nice to revisit the area through your eyes while you are riding. Would like to connect with you more privately if possible? Perhaps messenger. Have a good day and thank you

I was going to buy a new Honda CL 500 here in NZ but at 14k what a rip off. So I think I,ll stump up and buy the RE 650 at about 11k but I really want the new mag wheel variety which has nt arrived yet . Not sure whether to wait, or buy the current model. Thanks Stuart for the update on RE accessories, seems that the RE 650 is pretty reliable and worth putting your money down.

I’ve seen and sat on one and the interceptor wins hands down in terms of build quality. Not sure about value for money as Triumph are being cagey about the price. From personal experience, I’d choose Royal Enfield if only for after sales service.

Thanks for the reintroduction to the Interceptor. You forgot the Hitchcock tank decoration, which I think gives the bike a good look. Have you considered to paint the seat cowl in orange crush?

Very tricky. You have to come in from the other side and I used a mini rachet. You can only turn it a quarter turn at most and it takes ages, causes cramp and multiple swearing.

I'd probably swap the gt footgear lever to the interceptor, the only point of the interceptor I didn't like(it's to close to pedal) where as the gt one is longer(or just swap gt footsets to interceptor will be my fit once I get my second one(mine the gt)

Hi Stuart, no Booster Plug? I’ve gotta a Euro 4, with the stage 2 DNA, aftermarket slip ons, and YSS front and back etc etc cheers Hitchcocks, any how the booster plug has made a noticeable difference to idle and pickup. Your thoughts on using one, if you’ve got the time. Thank you for your content mate.

    • @DirkGentley42
      @DirkGentley42 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi. I'm pretty certain that Stuart fitted a booster plug in one of the earlier videos. In fact i think that it was his experience that decided me on making my own for a different bike. It did transform the running in lower revs, making the bike much more usable and it got rid of the occasional backfires through the air box in very hot weather.

I've also had my Interceptor four and a half years.
On your advice I installed the yss front forks kit and was similarly very impressed with the improvement in handling.
Also added the touring seat but chose the Interceptor one because it's a bit thicker at the front, in my comparisons. Also made a noticeable difference in comfort and touring endurance.
    Trip Machine side bags, check.
    Tank knee grips, check.
Pipes I went with the AEW stainless steel, love the look and sound.
Sump guard and engine guards from RE.
