Also want to remind UNC first years that if you're taking a science class and are a science major (I'm chemistry) you'll have to take a lab class. Usually lab happens once a week, is about 2 and a half hours and happens later on in the day. My lab class is from 5:30-8:20. So during the summer it's still light out but in the fall/winter, it's dark. So safety and security is key. No one, especially women should not be walking to your place of residence alone. Have a walk buddy. Also try to structure your following day for a class that starts later.
Very true!! I’ve never had experience with lab classes, but I know a lot of friends that have had to walk back at 9pm. Definitely keep that in mind and be conscious
The worst thing that happened at my school was when covid hit. We have some classes that are Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 8-850am, and are in the Eastern Time zone. When we had to go to zoom all of the classes stayed at the same time, so people on the west coast had class at 5am three days a week
thanks for always having the exact video to answer my questions!!! 🤗 would love to hear your take on extracurriculars/what to expect at fall fest, and also your thoughts on greek life at UNC! you rock!!
Hey, I really love your videos they make me feel more at ease about starting at UNC in the fall. I noticed one of your schedules had french 105 and I'm strongly thinking about taking this class. do you have any advice on it especially for someone who last took french in 9th grade?
Thank you!! Ah, I'd be lying if I said 105 wasn't annoying. But since it's required, honestly its best to get it out of the way as soon as you can. Luckily I took French 3 in 11th grade so I didn't forget too much, but definitely brush up on the basics beforehand if you can (conjugations, simple vocab, etc). The work is mostly gonna be online modules that are time consuming, but not too hard since you usually have 3 attempts.
