Joe Jusko paints the best, the definitive, the ultimate Conan. The cover to Marvel Comics SSOC issue #143 is how everyone should perceive Conan. The very next issue cover #144 is so damn good, shows Conan enjoying what he really likes besides slaying. Other Jusko covers of SSOC that dominate are #63, 69, 74, 96, 104, 112, 121, 132, 134, 140, 156, 159, 170 and 200. All so great. His new Savage Sword covers keep up the greatness.
My dream is to have Ross x Jusko for cover art/panel art on a Conan run respectively. I would love a "Savage Journeys" comic which could be semi-canon focusing on Jusko's love of drawing Conan interacting with different cultures and Ross' (Alex Ross) love of human anatomy with a focus on emphasizing different types of clothing and how they contour to the body for each cover. You'd get some amazing work out of that! Great stuff as always!
In the 80s I cannot tell you what a gift and privilege it was every month to go to the local newsstand and be treated to a new Savage Sword of Conan cover art piece. Especially when the art was done by Joe Jusko. Young men this generation are truly deprived. You guys have to find a way to draw in readers who are not just hard core collectors. Get the magazine distributors to sell SSOC and display it clearly.
Jusko has to be my favorite!!!!So many great Conan artist but Joe always grabbed me!Thanks!!
I love Jusko's Conan. I love his Barsoom and Tarzan covers even more.
Along with Boris Vallejo and Frank Frazetta, my three fave Conan cover artists of all-time ⚔️
Don't forget Earl Noram! He's a close second to Boris for me. Chiodo wasn't too shabby either 🤘
@@Joshua-l7g Yes! And Bob Larkin as well did some tremendous Conan covers ⚔️
Joe FKUcing LEGEND Jusko

Hey Sean, please fix audio 😢
This was filmed during a signing at Comic Con and it was unfortunately very noisy, This was the best I could get on the audio. Apologies!
@@conanthebarbarianofficial looking forward to a long form interview, as always, thanks mate 😄
Unfortunately the sound is terrible.
Agreed, this was filmed in a very noisy environment! Next time we'll do better. Apologies!
Jusko did some of the great Savage Sword covers though its its only fair to say he did some of the worst too!🤷
He's very candid about his work!
the sound on this video sucks. I can't hear Joe.
We hear you, next time we'll do better!
He's nowhere near Doug Braithwaite or Frank Frazetta but amazing none the less
