@steveo1kinevo hey man Great vid, I don't wanna sound like a complete Prik but how come you and the rest of pilots dont wear parachutes or something to save them if Godforbid something happens to the plane? Wow Steveo! This has got to be one of your best videos yet! Just love the night flying! Great views of the sunset and I enjoyed your explanation of all the steps during the flight. Great work!!
I remember my very first solo traffic patterns on a DA 20 in Hungary, LHSM...Then my first cross country flying, the last leg into Salzburg Intl. LOWS during sunset...I felt in love with sunset and night flying, as you describe, smooth air, smooth sensations but all your senses on extra alert. Thanks for sharing, inspiring video.
Beautiful flight! The detailed narration about what you’re doing is terrific. Your love of flying is very evident. And the video quality is always superb. Keep up the great work.

That's right on the spot about the black pitch. As a pilot and as a passenger it's what I use to see most times, no stars, only the moon sometimes. Very relaxing, I loved it was so relaxing to watch.
Night flights and (usually) nighttime airport terminals are so soothing & relaxing. I love the ambiance of both. Morning flights are the diametric opposite: Draining, exhausting, enervating. Night flights are restful; morning flights, no matter how rested you were before feel like jet lag + hangover.
„Workload“ really makes sense when you see this guy prepping everything for the next move and keeping active his radio rolling... damn, doesn‘t look that easy to me...
Our favorite TBM tour guide with another great video! Funny that you should mention it -- yesterday I took the missus up for her first GA night flight, and she loved it. Night currency will never be a problem again.
There is beauty while Flying and overlooking the great earth we live in. Night Flight is just Majestic. Thank you Sir for the great video and as always safe travels and continue to have the time of your life.. PS Whistle is and will always be a sign of happiness ... OH the landing was butter....
I cant thank you enough for filming that. I was a pilot for a Commuter Airline in the 80's and I lost my license because of Medical. This film really brought back some great memories. Now with all of the computers flying seems a lot different than when I flew. Keep the Video's coming.
Very good flight to watch! Good flying too! I'm going on my second ever flight lesson tomorrow and watching you fly is very helpful and makes it more fun.
One of the best flights I have ever had was during my Commercial Pilot training out of Sanford, FL. Was high enough to see both the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts as the sun started to illuminate the Horizon, and watching the Shuttle Columbia launch (sadly) on its last flight. Images I will never forget. Florida can be a magical place to fly. Morning and Evening is my favorite time to fly.
Just like driving a car, I think I would much rather prefer to fly during the night time hours versus daytime. I also have 2 questions for you as my curiosity bat signal went off during your video..... 1 - Where has Reggie been and does he still fly on your TBM? 2 - Do you still fly the Caravan out to the Bahamas? Thanks in advance and want to add that your videos make flying fun for those of us unable to do what you do. :)
I think my head would explode from the information overload, with all that radio chatter. It was incredibly overwhelming to listen to it all, while concentrating on what you were saying and doing.
Steveo you crack me up! I'm always feeling romantic when it comes to flying, lol. For our younger aspiring Pilots, would you be able to include in one of your future videos your flight planning for your trip, filing your flight plan and then your pre-flight. LOVE THE NIGHT FLYING! I am just a 65 year old mere enthusiast but I really enjoy the learning aspect of the Flight Simulators.. Learning the systems, maps, procedures, communications, always learning!
The view out the windows of all the lights along with the really cool lit up cockpit gauges looks so COOL. When you dimmed the panel lights looks so cool! Must be such a feeling of accomplishment when you are sitting in that cockpit flying at night over the cities. I think of prestige when I watch these vids.
Excellent night flying instructional video. I'd fly with Steve anytime. He's always right on and stays ahead of the plane. Landing in the Miami area is a nightmare day or night. Besides the language problems at Miami Int. it gets so hectic it's easy to miss an instruction from the controllers. Smooth and cool gets it done.
"If man were meant to fly he would have wings!!" Much respect to Mr. Orville and Mr. Wilbur. The Wright brothers. On December 17th 1903 at 10:35 a.m., a man flew through the air for 120 feet clear!!! EXTRA EXTRA Read all about it!! ... MAN CAN FLY!!!
I used to fly in the evening from Burbank to Phoenix DVT at least 3 times a week. Many LOS Angeles clients called the tune but was always happy because nothing more relaxing than 170 knots in the Travelair. Dave in Phoenix Arizona USA
Plain clothes here. From start to finish, through thought process, language, and a good ear, for comprehension. How do you do it? It takes a sharp brain, a love for numbers and no fear. Should we call you Sully over the Hudson? You are responsible when flying, for thousands of people you fly over. Arriving, the lights of Miami bright in the night, brought a proud, amazed feeling which ended with tears to my eyes. Pilots to me are special people. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
Love all the fine details..... trim , cruise power , air speed , climb speed the right rudder on take-off and even follow the white lines to taxi... Seems obvious but hearing the Pro's do it basically makes me feel better ... haha .. Cheers and thanks !
Day verses night, I love them both. I've spent plenty of night time over NYC out of Farmingdale to JFK then a dog leg to the south. At my age though, I have to remember to keep my trifocals available for night instrument flight (keep a set in the glove box). Thanks for sharing this video.
Stevo! Love the narration, you're a great pilot. Very engaging and thoroughly educational and informative. Thank you for posting the vids. You're cool and collected. Really appreciate your skills. Peace.
My first lesson/flight was a night flight on the 4th of July, 1978 out of El Monte, CA. The only things I learned on that flight was that I definitely love being in the air and that fireworks look cool from the sky. I was hooked.
Hey Steve, love your videos. I always watch for your next one. Yours are my favorite. Very good technique and quality and substance. My son has just become a pilot. He started his first job as a flight instructor in Illinois. Please keep it up. I noticed other pilots who had good TH-cam videos are not posting new videos much anymore. Yours are my favorite so I hope you keep them coming.
Got to agree with you captain, that transition day to night is gold. My night VFR rating was the highlight of my flying career so far. Seeing all the lighting environment is exciting when departing and approaching airfields. Your point of smoother air is also a big plus when VFR.😊 Happy flying Stevo. Michael @ RPLL

Private, IFR, Comm, Multi Comm (probably about 60k). I personally would skip the high priced schools. Find a local school with good pricing and an instructor you click with, then live at home to save money and stay committed. It is a lot of work to do it fast, but it can be done. Do the written tests early on in each phase of flying. It's best to just get it out of the way and concentrate on the flying. After you get all that done, then fly pipeline or something for the next 250-300 hours to get you to 135 SIC mins, then start looking at charter outfits to get some 135 time. Network, network network. Corporate flying is all about who you know. You'll get other people work and they will get you work. Live below your means because corporate jobs come and go and you'll need cash to get over the humps...The market is awesome right now, but just 10 years ago it was a blood bath...Airlines have more stability and the top end pay better, but they typically require a 4 year degree (some are hiring without them right now, but don't count on it), and it's a JOB. Corporate can be either way, a grind, or sitting for a week in the Caribbean while you get paid. It really depends on what type of lifestyle you want to live.
Love night flight.....not without additional risks especially single engine.....but very rewarding....smoother air, lighting of towns and airports is nothing short of beautiful
Wow! What a thrill to watch a master at his craft! Many years ago, I washed out of commercial multiengine training due to a severe problem with red/green colour vision. As a retired person, I now scratch the itch by building and flying radio controlled aircraft and flying a desk through flight simulators. I found it so rewarding to hear your commentary and be able to connect with my simple understanding of real world flight. I'm not gay, but yes, you did romance me as to your sunset comment. I'm always amazed at how you guys receive, process, and re-transmit a response to ATC. I never got comfortable to that point. What a well done video! Personally, I think the urge to fly is some sort of a disease that has to be addressed in some manner. You have given me another means to that end. Thank you very much. Fly high.... land soft.
Hi Steve, becoming addicted to your videos and enjoyed this one immensely! I'm an ex-RAF tech which allowed much in the way of air experience and unlogged flying in particular the Hawk air testing, aerobatics and transit. I would like nothing better than to do what you do and your videos are prompting me to rejuvenate my lapsed ppl!
Enjoyed that one Steve, once went on an Air Boat Trip in the everglades, fought and lost a battle with the mosquitoes!. You have some great equipment onboard for single pilot operations at night, it must have been character building stuff in the day when all they had was an NDB and stop watch :-)
Tony Mind well, there is an awful lot of training that goes into becoming a pilot, it takes a lot of learning and it’s a lot more than “just rules” quite a lot of wit goes into flying.
Always enjoy your videos, this was one of the better ones recently. The flight over the Everglades was powerful, the earth disappeared, but you have a quality machine to pull you thru, and probably NOT too many amateurs over the swamp ! That would be a nice evening to take along a special someone, maybe even throttle back a little ?
I'm so jealous. I found out how expensive it was to become a pilot found your channel and just enjoyed watching, guess I will wait for Microsoft flight sim.
I did all my flight training at Miami dade college. tamiami airport. flew this area a lot. lots of key west tours and sight seeing . love flying this area. you get to know the controllers at Miami center over the radio
1. Always choose night flights myself (Lights are beautiful) 2. Totally agree with your comment on never being able to go back. Unfortunately furloughed from first flying job, but looking for any flight time at all. 3. TBM looks like a lot of fun, PT-6 time myself 😎....just with two
Very nice! I mostly fly in the daytime but love flying at night when I can. My most recent night flights was coming home from Oshkosh taking the scenic way home. Landed 83D (St. Ignace, MI); KFNT (Flint, MI); KBNA (Nashville, TN). Then on our last flying trip this past summer en-route to FL we landed at night coming into KHSA (Stennis, MS) in the Gulfport, MS area. WOW. The light show we got crossing the Mississippi river just south of Baton Rouge and then again just north or New Orleans.....unforgettable! The folks at Million Air FBO at Stennis were awesome. We had a late arrival and Hertz wouldn't deliver our rental car so they let me take their crew car over night!!! It was a Mercedes E-class!! Thanks for sharing this night flight SteveO.
What a life :) I feel tremendous joy watching your vids and you are the consumate professional. It shows in the little things like going gear up and then stating 'lights show gear up'.
The flying I do, I much prefer at night. Up high during the day most of the time it's too hazy to see much of the ground. But at night a whole different world opens up with the most amazing views of the heavens that anyone could imagine. Cities below look like you're flying over the Death Star with the Milky Way and constellations above you, and the odd meteor. Love night flights.
Love your vids! I am a pilot wannabe and I learn so much by watching you go down your checklist during take off, climb out, approach and landing. Awesome! I even downloaded N851TB on IF! Flying from Opa Locka to Tampa today! Keep up the great work!
Like you, I really enjoy night flying. Most generally the air is calm, controllers are more cordial to you, and it is actually much easier to see other traffic. Most of my night flying was done between Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Many of the controllers, especially on my Cleveland to Chicago routine flights, became familiar with my ID (Rockwell Commander N115CP) and became almost like personal friends.
Super Video Steveo! Many a dark moonless overcast night has ended the career of VFR pilots. Until you have suffered spatial disorientation you have no idea how serious and deadly it can be! Fly safe guys!
its 1 thing being able to fly but aproaching a member of the opposite sex is quite another lol alone in the dark touching knobs isnt my ting but it does make me think why do they call the front end of a plane a "COCKPIT" pmsl
Agreed about the better views during the days, but looking down at cities at night is a real treat! As well as the smoothness of the flights at night. I especially like doing the red eye flights across the nation that way cause really very little turbulence over the night on average.
Ur fine lol, when you are far away from atc comms become really hard to hear, that's why for example pilots say bravo instead of "b" because it could be misheard as "c", "d", "e", etc. Nine kinda sound like five, so for redundancy pilots say niner
here’s the alphabet for ATC: Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu. it can be a bit difficult to remember them but what i did is make a Quizlet to engrave it in my brain and it worked really well.
Love your style. These videos are super cool. Thanks for sharing! About to start getting my private pilots license next week - full time. Very excited.
Hola Steve! Love the vids! I was the shout out! JB1534. We were departing TPA. Keep it up!

Tony Mind well, there is an awful lot of training that goes into becoming a pilot, it takes a lot of learning and it’s a lot more than “just rules” quite a lot of wit goes into flying.
A Good Christian Pilot and a lot of money
M10 Reboot yep. Pockets are gone. I sold them to keep flying.
Steve great job it's Allways great to see your videos
Always enjoy your videos, this was one of the better ones recently. The flight over the Everglades was powerful, the earth disappeared, but you have a quality machine to pull you thru, and probably NOT too many amateurs over the swamp ! That would be a nice evening to take along a special someone, maybe even throttle back a little ?
Not cheap operating that plane - how long does that take - beautiful scenery - thanks for the ride - never been to Florida or Miami before
Now I could see that you do steer the plane on the ground with your legs. Great time spent with you in the air.
Doesn't look like he's got enough leg room. Surely they can make it comfortable for the pilot!
That was my thought. What if he got a leg cramp?? 😳
Being in the plane is badass but him explaining all the button pushes, turns, inputs and coms from the tower is even cooler!
Steve, I’m not a pilot nonetheless I really enjoy your videos.
Great fun being along for an excellent ride. Thank you.
I'm so jealous. I found out how expensive it was to become a pilot found your channel and just enjoyed watching, guess I will wait for Microsoft flight sim.
Join the military. They train you and pay you.
@@TheeAthis HA, too old :)
@@Byrkster Ahhh man, that's what my wife had guessed. I'm with ya though, I ended up getting my Sport pilots license to save on cost.
I did all my flight training at Miami dade college. tamiami airport. flew this area a lot. lots of key west tours and sight seeing . love flying this area. you get to know the controllers at Miami center over the radio
Just like Roger Federer makes tennis look easy, so you make piloting an aircraft look easy. People that are good at something make it look easy.
awesome video. I miss flying at night. We only get to fly at night here in Papua New Guinea if we have a medivac to Australia.
Im not into flying at all, but this video was amazing
Cancut berem,perusak sistem virus
1. Always choose night flights myself
(Lights are beautiful)
2. Totally agree with your comment on never being able to go back. Unfortunately furloughed from first flying job, but looking for any flight time at all.
3. TBM looks like a lot of fun, PT-6 time myself 😎....just with two
"in the description *down below*" makes more sense when it comes from someone that's miles above the ground
hah
Have you ever seen or recorded a Green Flash , either flying or when you were CG ? Thanks for the great video !
What a life :) I feel tremendous joy watching your vids and you are the consumate professional. It shows in the little things like going gear up and then stating 'lights show gear up'.
I could outfly this dude any day.
...In Battlefield.
Me to, in Arma 3 in a jet 😂
The flying I do, I much prefer at night. Up high during the day most of the time it's too hazy to see much of the ground. But at night a whole different world opens up with the most amazing views of the heavens that anyone could imagine. Cities below look like you're flying over the Death Star with the Milky Way and constellations above you, and the odd meteor. Love night flights.
I saw ‘it’ and hit like!
This was a good one, had to check twice. Steveo is getting creative and finding new spots!
Love your vids! I am a pilot wannabe and I learn so much by watching you go down your checklist during take off, climb out, approach and landing. Awesome! I even downloaded N851TB on IF! Flying from Opa Locka to Tampa today! Keep up the great work!
After watching this video i didnt wait a second to start my airplane , desktop and hit xplane11.exe :P
i want x-plane but i’m too broke
Watching your videos is like a free flying lesson. Thanks.
Reminds me of my first flight ( flying a kite when I was a kid )
Like you, I really enjoy night flying. Most generally the air is calm, controllers are more cordial to you, and it is actually much easier to see other traffic. Most of my night flying was done between Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
Many of the controllers, especially on my Cleveland to Chicago routine flights, became familiar with my ID (Rockwell Commander N115CP) and became almost like personal friends.
That cockpit dashboard looks so complicated
Super Video Steveo! Many a dark moonless overcast night has ended the career of VFR pilots. Until you have suffered spatial disorientation you have no idea how serious and deadly it can be! Fly safe guys!
if I had his money id never fly alone, def have a few hotties around for later
its 1 thing being able to fly but aproaching a member of the opposite sex is quite another lol alone in the dark touching knobs isnt my ting but it does make me think why do they call the front end of a plane a "COCKPIT" pmsl
They’re probably in the back seats waiting for him to hit autopilot
He's gay
Agreed about the better views during the days, but looking down at cities at night is a real treat! As well as the smoothness of the flights at night. I especially like doing the red eye flights across the nation that way cause really very little turbulence over the night on average.
Aye Steve since your always around Tampa Bay
can you be my flight instructor please!!
Lol
I really enjoyed this for both the aesthetics and surface education. Great camera work. Great flow. Perfect timing.
In the future everyones gonna have his own "plane".
That is really neat. Trust the instruments even if you can't initially pick out the runway and then suddenly, there it is ahead of you.
Stupid question from an absolute rookie: Why do they say niner instead of nine?
Ur fine lol, when you are far away from atc comms become really hard to hear, that's why for example pilots say bravo instead of "b" because it could be misheard as "c", "d", "e", etc. Nine kinda sound like five, so for redundancy pilots say niner
The word *nine* is also a German word idk what it means...so they say *niner* to make it different
here’s the alphabet for ATC: Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu. it can be a bit difficult to remember them but what i did is make a Quizlet to engrave it in my brain and it worked really well.
Awesome flight Steve-O thank you for taking me along such a beautiful night for flying. Thank you for sharing I appreciate you. Peace out
These videos would be so much better if you had a dog as co-pilot.
Somebody is a little too into dogs.....
@@jessemontelongo5277 🐶 I'm also into little dogs too. . . .
Love your style. These videos are super cool. Thanks for sharing! About to start getting my private pilots license next week - full time. Very excited.
