And who does not need a great bottle opener? And who would not want a killer bottle opener like this one?
Nice project. Thanks!
Thank you Jerry!! Everyone needs a cool opener! Appreciate ya!!
They look great Bruce. Love the carved section.
Thank you John, glad you like it!
Nice set, I am sure people love them.
Thank you Len, yeah they do good!👍🏻👍🏻
Nice carving. One small suggestion - make a simple drawbar to keep the mandrel tight in the headstock 2MT and it will never get loose again. I make them from a length of all-thread. And although I have that mandrel, I and my students far prefer the one Ruth sells that threads directly onto the lathe spindle.
Thank you John and thanks for the valuable information and checking out the video! I have since picked up the Nile’s 1.25” x 3/8” adaptor, which works excellent. Appreciate ya!👍🏼👍🏼
That is one cool looking bottle opener Bruce. Now I need to look up how it works. The stopper is cool as well but I never had much use for a stopper. Most of the time they are empty before they need a stopper LOL.
Ok I just looked and saw how the opener works. I should make one for our oldest son. Although he can open a bottle on just about anything from car parts to chunks of wood. But I really like the looks of this opener!
Fun project!
Take care my friend,
Gary
Thank you buddy! These definitely make great gifts, and nice easy starter projects for beginners! It’s like a 1000 degrees here again and these were nice and fast! Thanks again Gary! 👍🏻👍🏻
Cracking job Bruce 👍 the little bit of carving a great touch , two very good beginner pieces mate👌
Cheers, Bram
Hi Bram, thank you buddy! I like the carving too, just enough touch on them. It’s like a 1000 degrees here 😢 so these were fast and easy!
Looks great Bruce! Great work!
Thanks Chris! Glad you like them! Nice and easy! 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice video Bruce, you could also use the walnut handle as a shifter knob 😀 Keep well, Rob
Thank you Rob! They’d be great shifter knobs! 😀👍🏻👍🏻
Nice! U know I actually just made my first one ever last night after almost 3 years of turning now 🤣
Thanks Brad! That’s crazy that you just turned your first one! 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice project 👍
Thank you Chris!!👍🏻👍🏻
Nicely done! Specifically liked the texturing touch. Not sure I need a bottle stopper for a beer. LOL ;)
Thank you Jay! 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice job well done 👍🏽
Thank you very much! 👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely job Bruce, easy to do and work well!
Cheers Al

Thank you Seth! Yes these are cool little projects! Thanks for tuning in, appreciate you!!👍🏻👍🏻
great set!
Thanks Luie! Nice and easy for someone looking to try out some lathe turning! 👍🏻👍🏻
Bruce they are very beautiful and I love your touch of beauty with the power carving. May I ask for the description of the threaded bit you use as I struggle to get my bottle stoppers into the ends 👍👍👍
Hi Gavin, thank you very much! The threaded mandrel is from Ruth Niles, it’s called a mandrel on her website and is also a tap. She sells it in a kit also that has the drill bits and the mandrel which comes in a m2 and m1 tapers. Hoped that helped buddy!
@@JordanWoodwerx thanks a bunch that's fantastic 👍👍👍
Brilliant Bruce. I love the carved decoration. They look amazing. I'll have to see if it is possible to get them shipped to the UK. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
Thank you Huw, appreciate it! I do believe Ruth ships world wide!…I think 🤔
Nicely done. Looks like the power carver did its job well. And the Ack’s seems to always give just the perfect glow. Nice one Bruce.
Thank you Doug! Love that little power carver and Acks finish!👍🏻👍🏻
Aweasome video. May be a silly question but what was that electric gouge you used to do the texturing. I've only ever done that by hand with regular gouges and that seemed way easier.
Hi Kevin, thank you very much! The little power carver is a RYOBI. I picked it up on Amazon, not sure of the model #. Works great!
Can you provide l ink for the power carver you used? Nice project!
Thanks Amy! Try this below. If that doesn’t work, just search power carver on Amazon, it’s still on there with extra knives for $107
Dc-501F Ryobi Electric Carving Knife with 5 Replacement blades set 4989692
Great video. How do you like that carving tool? Worth the money?
Thank you!! Great little carver and definitely worth the money! Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it! 👍🏻👍🏻
