    Yep, Pai grows on you. It's like a kind of Hotel California. You can check out any time you like..., but you will keep coming back. At least I will.
    So funny you went to the hot spring, but you should have stayed (soaked?) a liitle longer.
    Walking street looks so quiet. The vendors seem to be out in force again, but very few people compared to pre-covid.
    Anyway, not your problem. Enjoy you stay and the rest of your trip on this fabulous loop.
    And keep up the good, no great, work making these vids. You're brightening up my and many other peoples days, everyday you post. 🥺😻😻🤟👍🍓🍓🍓🥢🛵.

      That’s exactly what we said to each other! Like Hotel California. It would be so easy to move there and bam, 20 years would go by.
      Thank you for the kind words! It really helps keep us motivated in a huge way 😊

    I lived in Pai for six years and managed a resort there. The hot springs you visited were called the 'secret hot springs' for over ten years, but of course are not secret any more. The steep hill you rode down was, until recently, a gravel track and quite dangerous. The springs are , as you said, only luke warm. If you want 'hot' springs, you have to visit the Pai hot springs. They are so hot that a whole village takes their water from them. Stay safe and keep up the great videos!

    • @tons.303
      @tons.303 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, at Pai hot springs, you can even boil eggs in a couple of pools. The pools where people go in are quite hot too.

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for all the information. I think we would’ve walked down that hill if it were still gravel.
      Living in Pai must’ve been quite an experience. It seems like the type of place where it would be easy to let time get away from you.

    Also, a suggestion for when you get back to Chiang Mai - Thai cooking lessons! Asia Scenic Thai Cooking School has half day (in centre) or full day classes (at their farm). Really, really good! And you get to eat what you make!!

    Just a suggestion to help with the luggage on the scooter. I have a Honda PCX 150 similar to what you are using, and I carry stuff (supermarket shopping) in a tote bag, with one handle over the left mirror, and the other the right. The bag then rides between my two knees and legs. Hope this helps.

    Hi Guys, unfortunate that the Hot Springs didn't turn out to be as good as anticipated. I forget which one I went to now but I know that I was advised to go early morning to really benefit from the heat versus morning temperature.
    The market seems to be picking up regards tourists and once again you have giving me cause to travel.

    It is really back to the future. When I was there on 7-day bicycle trip with my younger friend 20 years ago, the Walking Street looked very similar as Pai was beginning to be well-known among western backpackers. When I was there alone on 7-day bicycle loop trip Chiang Mai, Pai, Maenghongson and back to Chiang Mai 5 years later (15 years ago), Pai was very popular and the Walking Street was jampacked with both Thai and western tourists, about 10 times more people than now. In December this year, I plan to do the same bicycle round trip (7-10 days alone) to celebrate my 70 years young. Wish the best for me as I am no longer as young as I was 15, 20 years ago.
