Thank you for these instructions. I repaired my c480w - only difference are two more screws. The rubber was a bit misaligned and in a bad condition. I replaced it with self-adhesive felt and it works like a charm.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was able to fix my C460 by following your instructions. To clarify a few things that's not stated in the video: 1. The goal of this fix is to make the solenoid rubber pads not sticky. 2. The solenoid is used to control rotation of the pickup roller. 3. The timing of activation and deactivation of the solenoid must be precise. 4. If the top pad sticks, the paper won't be picked up. This is because the latch prevents the pickup roller from moving. 5. If the bottom pad sticks, then paper will continuously get picked up. This is because latch never closes and pickup roller rotates without ever stopping. 6. If the bottom pad is even a little bit sticky, the print will be offset on length wise. This is because the duration of the solenoid activation is carefully calibrated in firmware. So the bottom pad being a tiny bit sticky caused a tiny delay for the pickup roller to stop, causing prints to be offset towards the bottom of a printed page. 7. Instead of replacing the rubber pads, I just painted some nail polish ( NOT polish remover ) to both pads. I used some glittering purple color from my wife. :) After 10 mins, it dries out and hardens and is no longer sticky. This worked for me, but your milage may vary. TL;DR * Use nail polish ( NOT polish remover ) to harden rubber pads. * Apply to BOTH pads.
Thanks, good video that explains how to disassemble the printer and to repair the faulty part (design flaw) on my side I replace all the paper pickup mecanism as the part was only arround 30$. So I got new roller at the same time.
I was a printer technician for 30 years. That piece of rubber is just for sound deadening, and what happens over time is it goes soft and makes the solenoid stick. If you don't mind an extra click every time it actuates, you don't need to replace it with anything. Just remove it.
I was up until 3am yesterday disassembling and re-assembling my printer because it stopped grabbing paper. I thought the solenoid was jammed, turns out the roller has just been getting dirtier and dirtier over the past few years... What I spent 4 hours doing could have been fixed in 3 minutes had I found this video first.
Thank you for the video. I followed the steps and fixed the "paper jam in tray 1" error but now my printer can't be detected by my laptop even through the USB cable,. I opened the printer again to check and everything looked plugged and in place. Do you have any idea about what I did wrong?

Looks like the second roller not taking paper. Do you know what is the problem? Some sensors works wrong? From time to time printer works ok but usually with this error as above.
@@erepairer are you sure that could be the fuser unit problem? Pickup roller takin onlu about 2-3cm of paper and stops after this roller goes back to his start position. It is a M2-1210 Code - Jam inside of machine.

Hi, thanks for this video! I replaced the solenoid rubber so I no longer get the "Paper jammed in tray 1" error. But now the paper gets stuck halfway and it says "Paper jam inside machine" with an orange light. The paper is stuck so hard that it tears when trying to remove it. I am not sure if I did something to increase the force when the paper passes through the roller. Do you know what the problem might be?
I managed to fix the paper jam error by removing the paper stuck inside the printer. Now I realize whenever I turn on the printer or wake it up from sleeping, the rollers start to turn for some unknown reason. This causes the paper to get stuck unless I remove the paper tray every time. Is there a way to fix this?
It is not clear, what we are actually fixing here. What we need to achieve and what is the root problem? Having tray 1 jam error now, and i can see that lower rollers just do not roll to take paper, upper rollers are rolling several times before error.
The goal is to replace solenoid or at least damping pads that became sticky over time. This does not allow solenoid to return to the initial state fast enough. Check another video on TH-cam "Why Samsung printer does not pick up paper"

I followed this repair step by step on the CLX-3305. Glued a piece of eraser in place and it works fine.

I put some extra paper between roller and rubber so the rubber get some more thickness

check color toners magnet roller rotating correctly and check fuser sleave and pressure roller

having a similar issue after replacing the solenoid. Paper is pretty much melted, lots of dents and missing parts. Did you found a reason?
