    A+ video! For anyone with trouble removing the wire clip: I had to use pliers to firmly pull out the wire connector. It was too tight to remove with fingers. No damages.

    Geat video and explanation thanks. I had a transfer belt fault on a CLX-3305. Completly taking apart as per your second half of video and cleaning has solved the problem👍 the only different thing I did was fitting the side springs before the outer cover was reftted. Acess to them was then easier.

    Excellent informative clear instructions. My printer had been fine until I needed to replace the black toner with a new one and the next print was awful quality with faded strips. Followed your instructions and felt very comfortable with my execution of the process but unfortunately made no difference to the faded bits. Could it be my new black toner cartridge?

      I've no idea, the transfer belt counter shuld be resetted.

      This procedure will require going into the Tech menu to reset the counter for Transfer Belt (there are other TH-cam videos on how to do this depending on the model, but it essentially a specific sequence of key presses on the controls: the display will read Tech menu if you are successful. For the printer in this video without keypad, the sequence is Menu, Back, Left, Right, OK, Stop/Clear, Menu. The C460 with a keypad uses Menu, #, 1,9,3,4, Menu. Once in Tech Menu, then go to Data Setup, then Clear Count (for the specific part you have replaced)). The mainboard doesn't "know" that the Transfer Belt (or any other consumable part) has been changed: resetting the counter is the only way to tell it you have completed the procedure. If you get error messages on any of these other "Consumables" and/or the Status light continues red/message appears you need to reset any of these parts, the Tech Menu is the only way to do this after you change out the part. Important: only change out parts once you have pulled the plug. Hot-swapping parts with the unit powered on may create problems with locking in error messages and may damage the mainboard processor.

    CLP-315 with transfer belt not being wiped. I did clean it and disasembled just like in the video. The wiper has two rubber parts that do the wiping. The bigger one came loose when I tried cleaning it properly however. I cannot find a replacement part. Do I need a whole unit or will just the wiper fix my issues? It seems like the wiper does not take off all the powder left on the belt for some reason.

    Hi great video. I have the same printer. I bought black toner but it is not original - they promissed it would be just as good as the original. Now I am not sure why the black color is weak when I print. Would it help to maintain the printer (maybe I did something wrong when I mounted the black cartridge) or is the problem that the toner is not original. It would be nice to know before I start maintainance. Thank you in advace. Hope the spelling is ok.

      I think there is nothing wrong mounting the cartridge. Probably the toner cartridge is defective but the problem could be the drum unit too. The compatible cartridge are often good quality

    Hi, this video has been most helpful. Upon cleaning the transfer belt, it has started to make very loud screeching noises when calibrating and printing. What can I do to solve this issue?

      I the unit has been correctly assembled, I think you have to lubrificate the cleaning blade of the belt, or wait until the loud disappear

    Great video. I'm sure the ITB for a Samsung CLP-315 isn't very different. Does the belt itself ever wear out? The symptom is a blurry line maybe 6-10 mm wide across that page--sometimes yellow toner, sometimes black. Samsung literature says to replace the belt assembly. Is the real problem likely to be the wiper blade, or that the belt itself is worn out?

      I've found that replacement ITB assemblies cost $US 65-$US 130. But replacement belts are $US 18-$US 20 from China and I now have one. I have a spare ITB assembly I can play with. I had one question, but now I have two:
      1) Can I disassemble the assembly to the degree necessary to replace the belt? The Samsung repair manual suggest that this can only be done at the factory where special jigs are used.
      2) Do you think that the wiper blade has worn in such a way as to damage the belt and would shorten the life of a new belt? Or perhaps that it's normal belt wear? (I realize that without seeing the blade both of us are just guessing.) I think I might go back to the China websites and see if the wiper blade is available.
      I love the CLP-315 and have used and used it. We also have a CLX-3175 (all-in-one). I have performed the special mods on both of these as described here: rumburg.org/printerhack/ . Don't try this on anything but a CLP-310 or 315 or CLX-3175. It takes advantage of a quirk in the firmware which was removed in later versions.

      It seems to work on all CLP-315 and CLX-3175. It will BRICK any newer models. This is why I keep maintaining my old ones.

      After replacing the unit, you still need to reset the counter of the printer, which is done in the Tech Setup. To enter it, the combination of keys varies depending on the printer model - and unfortunately, Samsung didn't make them public (but they can be found for some models around the internet and on YT).

      There are no reset procedures. I think the problem are the chip. Are compatible cartridges? However Samsung make all they can to create problems to cartridges, even original ones

    hello, thanks for these, great videos! I have a question, I have a samsung 3305FN printer and it gives 2 errors: "replace ITB" and "replace fuser unit". I know there is a chip resetting method for drum unit by soldering in drum chip but I want to learn if there is a way to reset "ITB=image transfer belt" or "fuser unit" with some chip soldering or anything like that??

      I figured it out - I missed replacing the screw that holds the black flat plastic part at the end near the wires. After installing the screw (which I now call the colour screw) the printer works perfectly - no more ghost images and bright colours. Thanks again for the video it was excellent!

    Hello, thanks for the video, I followed the cleaning instructions, but I still have a problem, when sending more than 2 sheets of some document, I get a ghost print of the watermark of the previous sheet, when I disassemble the transfer cartridge I notice that has remains of toner with the previous printing on it, apparently it is not discarding them, any solution?

      Are you sure the problem is the transfer belt? It could be caused by the drum too and by the fuser rollers

    How often do you need to clean the transfer belt? once every 10,000 pages or so?

      Not necessary to clean it often. MAy be 30-40.000 pages if there are no print quality problems

    have a problem with my Samsung clp-365w. On power up it doesn't go through its usual warm up procedures. It is connected to the computer via usb. Removing the usb cable causes the conputer to sound so it knows it is disconnected from the computer. I think it is a hard wear problem with the printer itself. I have recently emptied the wast container. I worked after that but one morning after I powered up the printer all lights on the display came on steady and the printer didnt go through its usual warm up proceedures.

    Hi! I have a CLX-3305W and up to date 2 servicemen failed to fix it!
    It printed well at the beginning, then more and more often the paper would jam but now when I start to print, it makes some noises (like something rolling inside), and then BEFORE it even takes a sheet of paper, it displays the same error message as before: "Paper Jam in Tray 1". What could be wrong?
    Oh, and I must say that in the past it used to make this squeaky noise (like an old hinge) when rolling the paper, it made this noise more and more often and now it doesn't even roll the paper. What to do?

      You can try to clean the pick up rollers with alcohol, or change paper (may be it's damp) but I think it's a mechanical defect.

      Yes, I will try to do that. The paper is fresh from the box.
      But everything looks (to me at least, I'm unprofessional of course) like some roller just seized up, because the machine squeaked more and more while rolling the paper and now it doesn't attempt to roll the paper. As I understand it, the pickup roller is only for picking up the paper and then some second roller starts working?? I think maybe this second roller got dirty and that's why it seized up? Do you have any video where I could see how to properly disassemble the printer and locate this "second" roller? :)

      Unfortunately the problem persists, evidently some internal mechanism for rolling the paper has just seized up. BEFORE it even takes a sheet of paper, it displays the error message: "Paper Jam in Tray 1" but there is no jam anywhere (I checked every location).
      The printer is long past the warranty period so I want to disassemble it. The question is, which part is responsible for keeping the paper moving through the machine? This part is evidently broken or seized-up. Do you know?

      sometime the cleaning is not enough, may be the rubber roller must be changed. there are gears in the side of the printer,may be one of them has a broken tooth

    Hello, I have refilled on CLP365 only black powder on all cartridge by local toner for black printing ,now printer is working but sounding very bad , how can remove it , please suggest me how to remove the sound .

      the bad sound may be related to the gears, the internal meshing bar or the toner powder. It's difficult to remove a bad noise, try lubricate all gears. If the cartridge is working I suggest you let it work

      What is a deep cleaning? Check the printer settings in the printer folder, may be it's set in "Grayscale"

    Salve Gianni, dopo aver seguito questa guida, ho rimesso tutto a posto ma la stampante adesso stampa solo ed esclusivamente in nero, i colori li salta, cosa potrei aver combinato? Strano perchè ho davvero fatto tutto abbastanza precisamente... Se hai qualche idea potresti rispondermi? Grazie

      Stampa solo le parti in nero e i colori non li stampa? Non mi sembra un problema di cinghia di trasferimento, a meno che sia stata rimontata non correttamente e ora non sia parallela alle cartucce

      @@viandant5 sebbene stampava male, comunque stampava sia nero che colori. Ho trovato questa guida, per la quale ti ringrazio, visto che lavoro come tecnico informatico ogni tanto metto mano anche a stampanti, prima volta che manovro una transfer belt, pulisco tutto sistemo tutto, rimetto su, provo e cosa succede? Stampa solo le parti in nero e salta completamente i colori! Da computer mi indica anche i livelli del toner presente ed è tutto nella norma… hai in mente cosa potrei aver danneggiato? Non è neppure mia, sono avvilito 😞

      Purtroppo non mi è mai capitato, mi viene solo in mente che a lato della cinghia ci sono dei contatti, uno per ogni colore. Forse in qualche modo quei contatti sono difettosi o collegati male tranne il nero

      @@viandant5 Per conoscenza sono tornato a riportarti che, ordinando una cinghia di trasferimento nuova, i colori sono tornati, quindi ho in qualche modo manomesso la cinghia precedente! (Però ho tirato un sospiro di sollievo, non ho danneggiato la stampante in sè)

    By cleaning the transfer belt, do I still need to replace it? 'cuz my printer keeps showing a message that says "Prepare Transfer belt"
    it also says "Prepare Fuser soon", what do I do? and where can I find these parts to purchase?

      The cleaning do not cancel the error message. prepare fuser soon means that you have to change the fuser unit soon. to buy the fuser search with google

      Yes, it could happen i's hard to remove. Try to move it up using a lever or a screwdriver then pull it out

    Buongiorno, è dovuto alla cinghia una linea verticale sulla stampa? composta da un assieme di vari colori e non completa da cima a fondo. Come posso intervenire. grazie

      E' più probabile che sia il tamburo. Comunque controlla se la riga è presente anche sulla superficie di tamburo o sulla cinghia. In questo caso potrebbe essere la lama di pulizia

      II think it's not an electonic problem to the main board, you should have an error message. It could be a mechanical problem, a gear or something not in the right position
