Excellent video. I managed to (3 hours work) replace the Fuser unit and I also replaced the transfer belt (another video). Just a few experiences:
The screws aren't magnetic and they tend to fly away and land anywhere including deep inside the printer if not careful so take extra care.
The connector cables are made with nothing to spare so pay close attention to how they sit before you remove them as the new needs to go into the same way. I actually loosened the screws from the two boards(I have an C480FW so it has an extra board north-east of the motor) to get the cables through but this may not be neccesary.
On the C480FW there is also an extra grey plastic module which obsures the 2 right-most fuser screws at the back so it needs to be removed before you can undo the 4 screws.
And the plastic cover at 03:40 has 3 screws at least, not 2.
Toner gets everywhere so may sure to have some rags handy.
The printer forward and rear doors are delicate and pay attention to the whipe flaps. Everything is delicate infact so if you feel you are using force - dont. It needs the care of delicate porcelain.
End result - the printer prints fine..

Thank you so much for this tutorial! Now that I could always see which steps to take and what to keep in mind, I finally dared to try and replace my printer's fuser unit. While some steps were pretty difficult (the side panel just wouldn't move at first!), it eventually worked out and my printer is actually PRINTING now! And I had been so convinced it wasn't gonna work out if I did it myself. Thank you.

Well done! Thanks so much for this clear instruction video, it's gold. No idea how I would have been able to find out as the part came without any manual or instruction leaflet at all. You have spared me from frustration and distress. Thank you.

Thanks so much! I couldn't have changed the fuser without this video. My Samsung Xpress C480FW looked slightly different inside and it was very tricky to get the fuser aligned properly so it would slot back in. However, you've saved me a load of money and you have saved my printer going into landfill.

Thank you so much. Paper was getting jammed at the fuser and I thought I was going to have to throw away until I saw your guide on how to remove the fuser; which is I did, cleaned out debris, put back together and works great again.

Good video. I replaced the fuser unit on a C460FW using this video. There are some differences. The back of the unit is deeper. Once the back cover is removed there is a plastic spacer moulding running vertically down the RH side of the back. This needs to be removed (two screws). Without removing this it is difficult to remove the fuser unit and impossible to get the new one in. The second difference is the connection on the controller board. It is on the forward edge of the board, and the cable needs to be fed between the LAN board above it. It is quite tricky and needs some tweezers to pull it through. I found it necessary to go into Tech Mode on the display screen to reset the fuser counter. On a C460FW it is: Menu, #,1,9,3,4 Menu all pressed within 1 second. Then in Tech Mode go to Data Set up, then reset counters, Fuser. if you need a passcode it is 1,9,3,4. Hope this helps fellow C460FW users. May help with other multi-printers as well. eg. CLP3305FW

Exactly what I was looking for. Replaced fuser successfully with the help of this great video, but then the necessity of resetting the fuser count, and also the transfer belt after replacing it as well, showed up. Will find out if it works, but thanks anyway! 🙏

Thank you for the tutorial. I have the C480FW, it was a little different but over all the same steps. Saved me hundreds by not having to get a new printer. Im pretty content with this printer and was bummed about the fuser unit going out but a quick and easy fix. Great tutorial!!!

@@303electronics I replaced the fuser, but the printer still shows the message to replace the fuser unit and the red light shows. Otherwise, the printed Config etc reports are fine and come out nicely, but the unit will not work until I remove the fuser message. HOW do I do that on the C1810W? This is a vexing problem for owners of this printer.

Your video was most helpful as I replaced the fuser unit for my Samsung c430w printer. The only trouble is the printer does not recognize it has been changed, even though it is a new OEM fuser unit. Any suggestions what can be done?

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. Here's what I found on Fixya.com:
      I hop it helps:
1, I have samsung C430W printer..I replace the transfer imaging unit but still it showing to replace it..how can I reset the page count of transfer imaging unit...please help...
2, Turn Off the Samsung C430W printer using its Power button or disconnect the power cord from the back of the device and also from the wall outlet. Else, turn Off the switch present near the socket. Wait for about a minute. Replug the cord between the printer and the outlet. Power On the device and verify if the problem is solved.
3, To reset the page count, Click the Reset Fuser Life button and then choose the OK button, this resets the fuser. If the error is not rectified, the imaging unit has to be reinstalled or replace it with a new one again.

4:45 how clean or dirty is this pressure roller should be/allowed to be? I've dabbed the roller clean cloth so its no longer filled with toner dust, but its still colored and have marks of print content. edit: the colored roller doesn't seem to cause print problem, just wanting to know of general maintenance and how should it look when it becomes problematic

got an issue with this printer. My printer jams just before the fuser. NO jams are present. Is it possible that i may have to replace the fuser. It does print like the first line of a document then stops. Gives error jam inside machine. Any tips? I usually work on lexmark printers

Hey man, for me, the black roll under the fuser unit (made from plastic) has some dents, and I think it is causing stripes on my prints. Do you now how this part is called (right under the one u replaced)

    • @303electronics
      @303electronics  ปีที่แล้ว

The fuser is most likely the issue. But it will only heat up when you are printing something. If toner is smearing on the paper after a print comes out, you need a new heat roller on the fuser unit.

I had the same problem. If you release the plastic frame by undoing the screw on the top right you can flex the frame to release the fuser unit.
