Basically, this occur when Windows is unable to load the generic driver for a new device, then it shows up as “Unknown device” with an exclamation mark on the Device Manager.

WOW! The section going over device hunt was exactly what I needed! My adapter didn't have drivers on the official website and that led me to finding the correct site to get the necessary drivers for my second screen which wasn't working. I can't thank you enough!

Sadly non of these worked on my Sony Laptop it's a PCG-91311L :/ and it's why i'm gettin' a workstation Dell laptop possibly a Dell Precision M6800 and i know it'll work there hopefully because i know Dell will be better supported vs Sony
