  • Wondering if Roofnests are any good? In this video I give you a tour of my Roofnest Condor and the modifications I've made. After 3 years of ownership, I give you my thoughts about the tent and some pointers on how to select a rooftop tent if you're in the market.

Great setup! I’m also definitely inspired by LLOD’s setup.

My man, raptor liner looks mint! I have the same RTT and I am looking to do the same thing. Did you take the bottom edge “weather stripping” off or did you just mask it?
For sanding, did you use anything special?
    Thanks!

Thanks man. It's all about the prep work and it'll turn out great. Here are the basic steps I did.
      1. Thoroughly clean the whole shell with soap and water.
      2. Fully dry
      3. Sand all shiny black with 150 grit (I sanded it all by hand in fear of burning the plastic using a power sander)
      4. Rinse again to remove dust
      5. Wipe down with a mild degreaser (I use a diluted ratio of Malco Red Thunder which I use for everything👌🏾)
      6. Fully dry
      7. Tape off all parts you don't want painted( I taped off everything that was not black gloss i.e. trim, logo plate, buckles, screws)
      8. Apply raptor liner at 40 psi (test on a piece of cardboard to dial in desired texture) i.e changing psi and spray distance
      9. Minimum of 4 coats letting dry for 1 hour between coats
      10. Remove tape 30-60 minutes after final coat.
      11. Allow to fully dry for 24+ hours
Many ways to probably do it but this is how I did it and it turned out looking like it was done professionally.

@@eyesnearstactical They're solid boots for sure. Not the cheapest, but my first pair lasted me 10 years and they're still usable.

      @@SixEightOutdoors wow! That’s good value!
Yeah I saw the price $265 msrp. But hey 10 years and you live in Arizona and I’m in San Diego and go to the desert to shoot so I think they will work for me.

Top Heavy Tebts are a bad Idea in so many ways, can't set your tent up somewhere away from your vehicle, can't use your tent to save a nice campsite, climbing up adown to pee at night, very expensive, and costs you every day you drive, one woman said her mileage dropped 5 mpg, when she added a Top Heavy Tent, hard to get on and off your car, designed in South Africa to keep campers away from Lions and Hyenas at night, no need in North Amarica
