So simple 3 chords yet I’ve never known. Thanks Lisa for sharing. You’ve inspired me to sing and play at 54! I was so scared but watching you gave me something to work towards. I’m forever grateful. Sending you a million blessings from Miami ❤
I'm 62 years old and just shy of one week in learning the piano. I'm using the Faber piano lesson books I and II but I love the simple little youtube lesson just to start sounding a bit more musical. 10 months ago I started to learn guitar so I am a step up on being a complete 100% beginner in that I know/understand some music theory, the concept of chords, note and a number of musical terms. But still a complete noob when actually playing piano. But at my age, I'm more interested in the journey than the destination.....just having fun learning guitar and piano. Thanks for the lesson!
I have always wanted to learn piano. I have very small hands and thought I could never do so until a friend told me different. I found this channel at the same time and another friend let me borrow her keyboard that she isn’t using. THIS CHANNEL has helped me learn on my own and at my own pace! Thank you!
This truly is beautiful. I took lessons as a child and didn't get very far. I somehow stumbled upon this channel and now I play a little bit almost every day. Now I get to play the songs I want to. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you so much for this. I've been stuck on practicing the C chords now I have this to practice on. I'm a beginner and you are helping me so much and it's beginning to sound like I know what I'm doing and so much fun. I'll practice all day then run across one of your videos and get out of bed and run to my piano and I'm amazed. ❤❤❤
You're doing it the right way. Myself on the other hand play the electric keyboard just because the sound is very cool, and I exercise my hands. Thank You.
Very cool sound and so simple. Thanks for posting this. I assume that's a D minor pentatonic scale. What is the "relationship" to the B flat, D minor and C chords ...how were they "derived" Thanks !!
This is a great skills exercise for an intermediate beginner because for one thing, it can be transposed into other keys. The pattern in a minor key is 6-3 / 1-5 / 7-4 and the notes 1-3-4-5-7. I imagine you could play it in the relative major, adding in what would be the 3-6 chord in the minor, but I haven't tried it yet. Hey, you can't just spend your whole life doing what someone else tells you. You're allowed to invent your own exercises or vary the ones in the books. Another variation is to switch hands. Always tempting for me because I am a lefty.
Wow! that is definitely beautiful 🎼🎶🎵 I'm a a song writer and I truly feel it giving me so many lyric and melodies ideas thank you so much for the inspiration 👏👏👏
Great lesson, Lisa. Such a beautiful piece with a huge range of flexibility. It has the potential to light the player up with creativity. Given the right fit, that person could potentially be "on fire" with this combination. Very emotional and powerful. Thanks for your valuable lesson and kindness.
@PianoteOfficial...This video is baked with so many goodnesses. I believe the answer to your question is that all of the notes D,F,G,A,C in the key of Dm happens to be the notes in your chord progression of Dm, Cmaj, BbMaj. Am I correct? I think this video is a summary of playing notes in your chord progression theory. I also believe that if you can do that, then you can really improvise and sound awesome at the same time.
As a beginner my question is how did you know to pick those notes in the left with the notes in the right so easily? I’m sure it’s a simple question but I know very little about theory
After so many months with painote, I still can't loose myself in improvisation. It is just that my hands can just about do what I teach them, there is just no flexibility to play anything I haven't studied for hours. 😢
I play keyboard for a choir... but m not good. Pls give me tips on how to play it simple for a choir who sings 4 voices. Simple playing so i wont ruin the satb voice harmony. Thank you and God bless.🙂
Hello how are you doing thank you very much for the lessons I am a visually impaired young men may you please help me to play piano or rather should I say keyboard if possible I would like to do some kind of a video calling I don't know which platform you are comfortable with so that you can see what I'll be doing and you can instruct me thank you very much once again for you lesson
I have been watching your videos for a week now and I have learnt so much! I can take things in a lot easier and understand ideas I couldn’t before, so thank you. I would love if you could do a tutorial on Best Part, by Daniel ceaser, it’s a great song and I would love to play it:)
Easiest way? Let someone play who actually can, in my experience. In earnest, perfection comes from smoothness and getting rid of all musical edges and imperfections in dynamics and rhythm - which all comes from being fluid, which only comes from hours upon hours, years upon years of practicing to eliminate those tiny imperfections, those small less-than-ideal wasted movements from your muscle memory. Which, in time, leads to mastery. Your F chord basically sounds the same as on day one, but its handling and implementation have vastly improved over the years, allowing it to be switched into more exciting lines as its use became much more automatic. And that is what makes you sound beautiful. If you really want a hack to play things that turn heads, those things will not be open chords. Try, but don't overdo it, the sus chords for that. Or better yet, say goodbye to the notion of hacks and shortcuts and do not play chords to earn praise, but simply to fit the music best. ( Opinion : The whole idea of chords turning heads is so stupid and half-baked, anyway ^^ ) Nothing worth having ever comes easy. Which is a good thing - it shouldn't ever come easy. No other 'easy' way will be anything than 'Augenwischerei' ( missing the english word, basically you're sold a lie. ) Deep down most people know that the only way to becoming better would simply be to practice more, and maybe practice differently. Some quick maths, the 10000 hours often used as reference to have a chance at mastery equate to well over a year of your life spend only practicing. It's more than 27 years if you only manage to practice an hour a day, every day. Did you guys looking for 'the easiest way to sound more beautiful' put in an hour a day until now? Save the answer.
Hey I have a video idea if you guys can so maybe you can make a video on when you know you are ready to take of the stickers on the piano or stuff related to the cause I can’t find videos on that and what I mean by stickers is note stickers Thanks
Hey I wanna say that Jesus loves you guys and that He died on the cross for your sins. He paid the penalty of our sin and gave us His righteousness You don't have to depend on things from this world, you can find peace and joy in Jesus, if you keep Him first always, above everyone and everything else, He will surely reward you.

The only problem … you have so many great ideas for beginners that I can’t nail one before another comes along. Thanks!!!
I have always wanted to learn piano. I have very small hands and thought I could never do so until a friend told me different. I found this channel at the same time and another friend let me borrow her keyboard that she isn’t using.

I'm so happy to hear you are learning :)
@Heather - Look up David Hicken. He's got short stubby fingers but he's an amazing pianist.
4 minutes of great tuition resulting in over an hour of enjoyable 'keymashing' and noodling on just those three chords. Wonderful, thanks!
This truly is beautiful. I took lessons as a child and didn't get very far. I somehow stumbled upon this channel and now I play a little bit almost every day. Now I get to play the songs I want to. Thank you for sharing this.

She’s is the best teacher in the world 🥺
I have recently been thinking, exactly that thought.
You're doing it the right way. Myself on the other hand play the electric keyboard just because the sound is very cool, and I exercise my hands.
Thank You.
I really like the sounds of an electric!
Your channel is amazing; and you are so kind. 😊 Thank you !
That’s one of the best thinks I’ve ever seen regarding learning piano! I’m just contemplating starting to learn as I get ready for retirement! 🙂

Beautiful! That was so relaxing. My puppies love to hear classical piano and they would absolutely love me playing this. Thank you, Lisa!

Great video Lisa. Simple practice routine that sounds so nice
I appreciate you taking the time to teach us! It truly shows your passion for the piano. :)
Thanks so muych for being here with us!

Love this! So easy and sounds so beautiful! I'll be using this at church!
There’s something about that D-A I love. Thanks. ❤
The root dominant combo always is striking especially when it become root dominant root giving you the resolution the dominant is begging for.

Lisa, Thank you for sharing lots of things with us... My son learned practicing arpeggios from you.
This definitely blends different chords together! Definitely leans more towards the flat chords or minor chords!
You have made me to love, and I'm going to look money and buy one for better performance.
Simply amazing how you raise learning in such easy and fun way
Glad you think so!
Wow! that is definitely beautiful 🎼🎶🎵 I'm a a song writer and I truly feel it giving me so many lyric and melodies ideas thank you so much for the inspiration 👏👏👏
you are very very welcome!
Brilliant! Now I know how every TV drama gets their soundtrack-its this! So good, thank you.
So simple right?!
@@PianoteOfficial it is thanks to you, Lisa! A very good video.
Just wonderful hands movements are very expressive.😇✨
May I ask how did you chose the left hand notes? I mean how do you know which ones would work with this scale?
This makes me miss my piano - it's such a beautiful sound
Thank you for your brilliant exciting lessons, you are awesome!
Our pleasure!
Great teacher and communicator. Thank you so much!
You are amazing thank you for your time and lessons!
you are very very welcome!
learning now trying thank you lisa
A beautiful and simple combination of notes. Would've liked to see Lisa explain in the video why do they work so well together.
maybe we'll put something up on IG this week!
@@PianoteOfficial that would be awesome, thanks!
This also allows the player to work on dynamics without having to engage too much concentration on reading/playing too many notes.
Thanks!
oooh good call on that!
I - IV - V progression with pentatonic on top 👏👏👏
But in C would be even easier for beginners, right?
Having experimented with this a bit, I find the C pentatonic to be a more challenging hand stretch.
I think that is such a beautiful way to practice, keep on bringing good training like that such I can graduate from a beginner to the next level
you got this!
OMG...can't wait to start! Love your channel!!😊💕
Thanks for all the tutorials
Definitely the best piano channel.
definitely the best commenter!!
Great sound I really love it❤️❤️
Glad you like it!
D minor pentatonic or F Major pentatonic scale over the 4,6 and 5 chord in key F major
Absolutely loved this ❤
Es un buen tutorial. Gracias

I see what you did there 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@PianoteOfficial Just exploring and experimenting with the possibilities. Totally random at this point. Moving my fingers, wrists and arms around.
You are making me want to play the piano.
The best piano channel

Im curious on the technicality, so how do these chords sound good together? What do the chords represent?
They are all white notes - c major 😊
Beautiful indeed!! ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
She's so swell ❤
Beautiful.
Good. I will try it. Thanks
As a beginner my question is how did you know to pick those notes in the left with the notes in the right so easily?
I’m sure it’s a simple question but I know very little about theory
If I subscribe to a plan (annual) is it clearly signposted for a beginner right from the beginning? Thanks Lisa.
After so many months with painote, I still can't loose myself in improvisation. It is just that my hands can just about do what I teach them, there is just no flexibility to play anything I haven't studied for hours. 😢
