Yes. We do have chops without staff that are open 24/7, but most of them are still in rural areas. In most of the chops you can choose so they have regular opening time. But you will still not find some bag packers.
21:00 Exactly. It's not about taking people's jobs away, it's more about giving people the opportunity to work high-skilled work, and to do stuff that may be more "fun" than a very repetitive job such as cleaning or packing bags. There is a high demand for high-skilled labor, but many of the people who _could_ work those jobs if they had the opportunity, are stuck in low-skilled, low-paid jobs.
Scandinavia has social benefits, but it has horrible social programs. under 5% of people who are on social welfare more than a year never return to work in Norway. That is not because they are lazy or don't want to work, it's because of how the state works. Starting a business in Norway is hard because of all the regulations, getting work is also hard because of the same things.
There are some stores that are 24/7 without staff yes. I remember one place, you just tapped your bank card outside the doors, and they would open, and then you scan your receipt to open the doors when you wanted out. During daytime someone would often be there to help out if someone needed assistance, and also help you if you were buying age restricted stuff. The local population got their fingerprints registered, so that they could buy age restricted stuff when staff wasn't around.
My local store is actually fully self served. It's also the only store where I've seen people stock the shelves at like 3AM... You use an app to get in, there are cameras everywhere (legit -- everywhere) and you have to login with BankID (Norwegian governmental digital ID) to be able to use it and to buy stuff such as alcohol and tobacco.
We're doing a few promising things right now, the world is in desperate need of rare minerals, and we seem to have a lot on our ocean floor. Just stop oil and other nay sayers have condemned the entire thing as a catastrophe even before the suggested plan has been stenciled out, but as pioneers in enviromentally friendly industri I think this will supply many good jobs and much trade, and many countries have planned oceanfloor mining, I think it would be a good thing if we set global green industry standards.

That's so cool! What about if you don't buy anything, do you get an empty receipt to open the door? 🤔

Thanks for watching
